If Fred had killed the Professer herself i think she would have treated Gunn the same. He wouldnt have dumped her and would have understood and tried to help her though it. She however would have still cut herself off from him.

I'm a buffy and spike shipper. Buffy and Spike's relationship is so complex and in depth. It's kind of interesting to see other's views on it.

Umm I think in the end when they weren't having a physical relationship it did become complex and gained a lot of depth but when they were in a physical relationship it was about as shallow as it could get, the one one that thought it meant more was the love struck Spike but in the end Buffy was using him.
As everybody knows I'm not a Spuffy shipper but that said I did like the complete trust and closeness they had with each other even if it did sometime result in Buffy making some bad decisions

Fred could not have handled killing her professor any more than she could handle Gunn killing him.

My all-time BtVS relationship is Willow/Oz. I loved the freshness and fragility of it, the tenderness, and the quirkiness Willow brought to it.

I thouroughly disliked Kennedy and Willow. Why? It was gross. I couldn't agree with you more on that point. In the words of Faith"Because it's wrong". I LOVE Tillow. They had a sweet and enduring love. It was a really great example of a same-sex relationship. They weren't all about the sex and they truely loved each other.

True, but for me it resulted in catatonically boring scenes between them.
Something i dont understand is that for the same reasons that people dislike Angel/Buffy they seem to love Willow/Tara.
At least Buffy/Angel had some spark and passion i will give them that. Willow/Tara were like an old married couple. Nice in real life....boring for me on the screen.

I don't see what the fascination with Oz and Willow is. They always bored me. I liked both characters.. but together.. nothing really amused me. I liked Kennedy and Willow maybe a little bit less than I liked Tara and Willow. I loved Tara and Willow's relationship because they had great chemistry and their love was pure. But I also like Kennedy with Will because she helped Willow move on... which needed to be done.

I thought there were people here arguing there was no such thing as pure love?
Whatever...Tara and Willow...I'm not really for or aganist the relationship. I don't think it was particularly more interesting than other relationships.
You said you liked Kennedy and Willow because she helped Willow move on. But there are other relationships that were originally based on one person moving on. Examples: Buffy/Riley--Buffy moving on from Angel leaving Willow/Tara--Willow moving on from Oz leaving

I wouldn't say Buffy was moving on with Riley from Angel. By the time she got with him it had been a fairl few months since Angel had left and she had that fling with Parker.

Well, Xander did say the Buffy had been treating Riley like "rebound guy"

I quite like Willow and Oz. What struck me is how and why the like each other. The two scenes that stick in my mind are the Willow kissage scene and the 'I feel like I lost a torso' scene. Enormously funny and beautifully relevent to why we are supposed to accept Oz as Willow's suitor.
If every relationship were as intense as Buffy and Angel then it lend itself as the norm which would serve to undermine it.
Willow and Tara, I must admit weren't the most exciting couple to watch but I can see the attraction they would have to one and another. I think Tara is the yin to Willow's yang and the balance often breeds a normality that isn't the most alluring we've seen on screen.
For me the Buffy and Angel almost but not quite arc was interesting to watch for that very reason. This may have sounded controversial to say but I'm not sure if the romance would have had the same appeal if Angel had been Joe regular. Part of what served as the allure were the surreptitious meetings in the night. While I agree that Buffy may well have loved Angel (and of course vice versa) if he hadn't have been a vampire but I doubt it would have been as compelling.

Oh the appeal of Buffy/Angel would be lost for many were he not a vampire - most notably for Buffy as well lol. Anyone else want to explain their favourite ships?

Spike and Dru isn't an option, but it's mine. They were sweet together, for a pair of evil vampires. The way Spike looked after Dru, even after all the shit she layed on him, was beautiful.
"I don't want to hurt you Dru, but that doesn't mean I won't" sums up the two perfectly for me.

I despise Dru. She shits me beyond belief. Therefore her and Spike together are just annoying. I'd rather Spike with Harmony then Dru - at least that was amusing at times

Spike and Harmony were amusing...
Why the Dru hate?

Dru is only good in her interactions with Spike. Otherwise she's just a crazy old lady. Being with Spike makes her funny.

I'd disagree there. Her stuff with Darla in Angel was great, too.
But this is getting off topic, since the thread's about ships.
That said, Dru and Darla are a platonic ship. Are there any other platonic ones that people like?

If we are talking Platonic, I always liked the Spike/Clem interactions, seemed like they were pretty Buddy-Buddy.
