Split from: Can+you+Shut+off%3FPlus how would we get into heated debates about the buffyverse! Most of my friends dont watch buffy!, infact none do! except one! I thought this was quite interesting... Most of my friends watched both Buffy and Angel (and I since got a lot more addicted to Firefly). So, are you the only Buffy fan among your friends, or are most of your friends fans?

I'm the only one among my friends who watch Buffy and Firefly. To be honest, I don't think my friends know that I'm a huge fan of the 'verse. You know how everyone has something that their friends don't know about. Well, being a huge fan of Buffy/Angel is that something for me.

I had a fairly close friend in school who watched, so after each new episode (until season 7 when we went off to college) we'd come to school the next day and talk about it. We loved it! Although I think some of our other friends were weird. My parents and sister have a basic tolerance of BtVS--they don't mind if I watch. I took my dad with me to see "Serenity" and now he's borrowing my "Firefly" DVDs. Other than that my friends who know I watch seem to have a tolerance of it.

only one of my friends watched Buffy she doesn't bother quite so much now that its off air. That never really bothered me though and I didn't give a crap if my friends thought I was weird for watching it

It was a friend of mine at middle school that got me into Buffy and then at upper school my best friend go into Buffy so i used to talk with him about it all the time. I remember when Spike had that dream that he loved Buffy he rang me straight away just to say "Holy @#!%" Other than that I am all alone. I dont really advertise my love of Buffy because i dont like the odd looks

Mos of my friends make fun of me for my obsession. They say it's a dumb show but they don't ever watch it. A couple of my friends really enjoy the show though. I'm borrowing my DVDs to as many friends as possible. And everyone who has seen them thinks they're great and gets addicted. But of my best friends, I'm the only one (except for someone else who I converted )

My high school best friend watched Buffy, but not Angel. She was very obsessed. Besides her, I haven't really had any other friends who watch it. I might have had a few in elementary school, but it's been a long time, I'm not sure

Most of my friends are fans but most of my friends prefer Angel to Buffy. We all have the DVDs though.

I have some friends who are fans. Bernie isn't a massive fan but he'll watch it with me. One of my good friends (namingly Kate) makes fun of me about my obsession and says the show is crap, but like everyone elses friends who bag it - hasn't seen it.

Haha if we all ever meet we should have a Buffy/Angel marathon and just make fun of all the people who have never seen it because they are missing out big time

I used to have quite a few friends who were into Buffy, but I'm not really friends with them anymore. My best friend likes it though. But I'm the only who is actually a big fan. Actually, I only went on BuffyTalk because of one of those friends (Kelly) - so I guess I can thank her for meeting all you guys!

Yeah, I had quite a few friends who bagged it, so I made them sit down and watch it, and got them addicted. I have one friend who still refuses anything Josswise, because it's "teeny bopper crap" - without ever seeing anything. "Dude, check out Firefly" "No, it's teeny bopper crap" "Have you seen an episode" "No" "You're such an authority, then"

yeh I wouldn't mind so much if they actually tried to watch it. I forgot I did have one friend in school that liked Buffy, though she was more into David Boreanaz, but if was fun having someone to talk to about the new episodes

I remember getting a friend hooked on Angel when it started. He wasn't willing to try Buffy, but since Angel was new, I conned him into it. He loved it, and it became his favourite show. So I started showing him episodes of Buffy afterwards, and he was shocked by "Becoming", figuring that there's no way Angel could possibly survive, until I pointed out who the star of his favourite show is.

Aw, is he not that bright? My best friend first saw a picture of Spike and said, "oh jeeze, what a total wanker." Then I made her watch School Hard. And then she said, "Oh, Spike is pretty much awesome, isn't he?" That he is. That he is. I feel so very happy that she's been converted. She also came to see a midnight Serenity screening with me!

Heh heh. I haven't exactly told most of my friends that I watch Buffy/Angel. And those that I have told made fun of me for it. That's why thank God for forums and my little sister Laura so we can all talk about it! Or I'd be going crazy at school, saying things like "So if you happened to be in this position where, I don't know, you found yourself with an evil twin who was from another reality, what would you do? All hypothetically, of course... Uh huh, yeah I see. And would you think there was anything symbolic about that?... Yeah I'm talking in real life." And soon, I'd be the one that sits in the corner alone because all my friends think I'm crazy. ;D Although, my older sister used to make fun of us for watching Buffy/Angel, but we totally got her hooked on Angel! She refuses to watch Buffy though... That's why I think it's so stupid when people judge me for watching Buffy/Angel. I know they'd love it if they saw it!

Aw, is he not that bright? That's the scary thing, he's very bright - one of the brighter people I know. I think it's just an issue of that when it comes to TV, movies or whatever, he just gets really engrossed, really easy. I know with most of my friends, there was a common understanding that Buffy was an amazingly written show, which is why most of them enjoyed it. They are also willing to check stuff out on other peoples' recommendations, too.

I don't get it! why are you so afraid of your friends laughing at you or thinking your crazy? its not upto them what things you do or watch! why be ashamed? Sure I've had friends laugh and make jokes but it doesn't bother me and once they get bored of taking the piss you may even be able to get them to try and watch
