Season 4 is my fave My worst now after all my consideration is Season 6 It has some of my worst episodes in it. Also i fall out of love with alot of my once beloved characters. They tried to go a little Angel Season 2 with this Season, the Angel going all funny and cutting himself off was mirrored by Buffy. The nerds provided laughs but they were so beyond lame, it was supposed to be the intention i know but still. It has for me two great episodes in Once More With Feeling and Tabula Rasa the rest i really couldn't care about. I'm not fond of season 6, either, but season 4 is so much less than what it could have been, and I think that's my biggest problem with it. The Initiative and Adam were great idea. I liked the idea of Buffy with a "normal" guy and didn't mind Riley's character. It just didn't seem to gel quite right, though.

my vote goes for season 4,
i liked season 1 and i dont get how people can say they didnt like it, season one is like were it all started and it did only have 12 episodes and not 22 so to be fair on it it was up to its best it could have been. the others season after season one i thought showed every one growing up more, i felt.
season 7 i though could have been better but it was still good.

I could never say Season 4 was the worst season simply because it has far too many brilliant stand alone episodes. While I hate the Initiative storyline and Adam, and would definately say it had my least favourite major plot arc, it has some of the best episodes in the entire series. Hush, Who are You, Restless, Something Blue, all absolutely brilliant. Even Pangs I love, though I am not a fan of Angel being there At least he's not in it much and has no real importance to the storyline (it serves only to set up the crossover on Angel imo and nothing more). I also love Fear, Itself, having a tiny tiny fear demon at the end always makes me laugh. Of course, it has some crapola episodes as well like The Initiative and any other Riley and co heavy episode, but then the other seasons have their shockers too. And some of the sub storylines are fantastic. Spike's chip was a brilliant idea, faith awakening, Willow turning gay, Xander and Anya getting together, Giles starting a new chapter of his life. And Giles singing... how fabulous is that? Season 7 I love, but its not as strong as other seasons, I think there was far too much focus on the Potentials and not enough on other characters. But it ended on a high, I loved the scene with the core four in the school with them echoing the end scene from The Harvest. Don't like the ridiculoud Bangel scene, but we'll forget about that for now. Season One to me is the least enjoyable to watch.

ok how is it possible that I've never posted in here? shame on me!
I voted for season 1 because although it was good for its time and made enough of an impression to get us another series, I think that if you look at the quality of season 2 there is absolutely no comparision.
Sure season 2 had some duffs but the overall quality in acting and writting is an awful lot better. In season 1 you see snipets of brilliance that I was glad to see continued in season 2. So basically I don;t think season 1 was bad, just not upto scratch compared to all other seasons.

I voted season 7. I don't know if this has been said already but it had so many mistakes, and the potentials were boring.

Well...like so many others, I voted season 1. It's just...bad...and not because they didn't try. It's just there wasn't a lot of time and stuff to work with, or money...money's a big one. It did have one of the greatest acting moments of the whole series though. Buffy's speech in Prophecy Girl still gets me.

Season seven is the worst season IMO, lousy plot, rushed epsiodes, not so memorable, and less Scoobies screen time.

Season 7 was ruined for me, I agree they couldve done a lot better with it, it was almost like they were trying to create a stand alone season, Giles was completely different,

I would say season 6, but after watching the season 6 overview, I realize that that season is needed to let everyone on the show grow. So, I'd probably say first season. Although it was funny and there were good episodes, it was too short and everyone was getting used to their roles. Plus, the season was so random and kinda choppy in places. I think I prefer a season more like season 2, where there is a villain for a good amount of the season, yet there are still episodes without the villain in them. Another thing I didn't like about season 1, is how jealous Xander got of every little thing Buffy did! Drove me crazy! Plus, Willow was so heart sick

Season Seven.
By the time the season came around I was still interested in Buffy. I was shocked at Tara's death but thought that they could work with it. Sadly Season Seven became Spike's own series. Anya, Xander and Dawn were pushed aside for Spike's stupid story line about his "soul" which became just annoying after one episode. Anya did get "Selfless" an amazing episode, and there were highlights, but season seven was just too Spike. I would have liked to see Dawn training and just more scooby stuff.

Hmm...I would say season 1 with second 7 quite a close second. I've been rewactching season 4 and I really enjoyed the season a lot. The arc of that season was poor but I thought the stand alone eps saved the season from going down the drain. Compared to season 1, season 4 was waaay stronger. Though it's understandable why season 1 was poor. I believe it would have been really good if the season had more eps. Cramming the whole arc into 12 eps wasn't a good move. The writers could have expanded it to season 2, in my opinion. *shrugs* A reason why season 7 wasn't very good for me was because of the numerous plot holes and the season becoming a Spike story. Joss said that he wanted to bring season 7 back to the basics of the show but he didn't. The core four was disappearing as characters like Spike, the Potentials and Wood dominated the season. I can forgive the writers for the plot holes but not for negelecting the core four.

I'm not a fan of season 4. It had some great standalone episodes, but as a whole, it really didn't flow as well as the others.

My personal un-favourite is Season 6. I didn't like the arc between Buffy and Spike. It was too violent, which I have stated before, causes a problem for me.
Now, Season 2 is my absolute favourite. You had B/A, Angelus (the greatest villain of the verse) and of course, Becoming Part 2, Passions and other greats. Plus, Spike was evil. Don't like him with a soul and they ruined him giving him one. Loved him with Dru. Great pairing.

Why do you hate Spike with a soul? Personally, I think it added a lot of dimension to the character. We always knew that he's "love's bitch, but at least he's man enough to admit it", with or without a soul.
I really think that he's feelings for Buffy added a lot to season 5, before progressing through 6 to the point where he gets his soul. Spike's arc in season 6 wasn't pretty, but it worked for the season IMO.

Its not Spike that I dont like with a soul. I just dont like how they did it. IMO they made Spike to righteous and all powerful on Buffy for my tastes. They gave him a soul in a way that made him great and wonderful. I like Spike with a soul. I think he is nicer with a soul, especially when we see him in his vulnerable moments. I just don;t like the process because it was like they were trying to overshadow Angel.

I Voted 4, Purely because it didnt really attract me as a season, it had some great episodes, and a pretty good storyline but it wasnt handled as good as it could have been, (in my opinion) ,
