"We Didn't Start the Fire" is an amazing song. And I think it's pertinent to many events, even today.

I like that it doesn't point a finger at one person or group but that it just says "Hey, let's fix this." And the fact that it's a tongue twister is nice, too.

I'll admit right now, in full range of rotten fruit and veggies by anyone so led to throw them, that I'm a Billy Joel fan. And I've always liked "We Didn't Start the Fire." It has a good message without pointing blame at any one group or person. And "Leningrad" has always touched me with its message, too. Whats so bad about Billy? I know every word to every song of his i would say. I don't own a single album but my parents are huge fans and i've been listening to him my whole life I don't mind a bit of We didn't start the Fire but i think his most meaningful song is Goodnight Saigon.

I haven't heard "Goodnight Saigon." I'll have to check it out.
There's nothing wrong with him at all where I'm concerned. But I have known people to get some slack for listening to him, so I figured I'd give anyone who felt led full permission to pummel me with food. :-)

I agree that "Goodnight Saigon" is a great song. Marie, you definitely should check it out (I'd be surprised if YouTube didn't have a clip). Personally, I think "We Didn't Start the Fire" to be more enjoyable, but "Goodnight Saigon"'s lyrics are fantastic.

I'll give some songs that I actually heard that mean something -Anyway, Martini McBride-- very good message about life in general. -Wonderwall, Oasis-- means a lot to me. I also think it has a good message about love. -Celebrity, Brad Paisley--definitely says a lot about what celebrities can get away with. -If Everyone Cared, Nickelback--what the world could be...
