Argh for the life of me I can't remember where. IMDB maybe? I need to look again... And I didn't know she was good friends with Florence Welsh. I'm starting to like her a little bit now.

Is she doing an Oprah style trip with her show?

No, i don't think so. More filming segments here and there instead of big shows with audiences like Oprah. I can't believe that was over two years ago! Seems like yesterday i was there it really does

I know! How crazy is that? If they make babies, they will have a wicked pair of eyes.

I find them a fitting couple due to Conner and Rory being two of the most annoying characters in the history of TV....

Ellen is here and shot a show in Sydney. Sounds like it was a bit of an unorganised schmozzle which is a bit of a surprise honestly. She always seems like a total pro.... Anyway, a few of my Swans were there ;D

I read that even though the gene causes her chances of breast cancer to go up significantly only 3% to 5% of woman with the gene actually developed breast cancer. I think it has caused a lot of woman to worry, unless you have a really major family history of breast cancer insurance companies will not even cover the testing.
Maybe it's because one of my best friends was diagnosed with it and she has no family history of it so it hits close to home.

From the article -
My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman....Only a fraction of breast cancers result from an inherited gene mutation. Those with a defect in BRCA1 have a 65 percent risk of getting it, on average....My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent
I have no idea about the insurance side of it, but 65% is fairly significant. My grandmother died from breast cancer (technically bone I suppose as it spread), and it made me think about my chances. I think Angelina definitely did the right thing for her, and it will raise awareness (like with Christina Applegate too). Angelina is having her ovaries removed too, apparently. I'm very sorry about your friend, Nico.

Well, it certainly made me think more about this. I've have thought about taking the test but I brush it off as me being too young. All the women in my family (mother's side) have/had breast cancer so the chances of me getting it is really high.

Go get tested Irene. While i think there are other things to think about and consider, something has to trigger the gene for example, its still good to know. My grandmother died of ovarian cancer but she is the only one as far as i am aware. I think she was just very unlucky.

It was my understanding that if you have health insurance then people with a family history are covered for the test. That could change with all the exposure i suppose! They are reactive to shit like that

Ellen to host the Oscars again.
Can she, Tina Fey, Amy Pohler and Melissa McCarthy just host every award show? Maybe throw in Mindy Kaling as well?
