Ok so imagine this was the only episode you have ever seen. You don't know what is to come for the characters. First impressions?

I think I would be pleasantly surprised with it. I'm not much of a sci-fi fan but this would make me watch more episodes as it's different from any sci-fi shows out there. I would definitely think it's a Joss show as it has his signature on it everywhere! Also, I don't think I would have like Simon all that much in this episode.

Shall we move on to the next episode? Train JobProbably my least favourite episode in the series - but FOX thought it was good enough to air it as the first episode. Some of the jokes were here though and Mal is great in this one. I like lighter, joke-y Mal. The only thing that annoys me a lot in this episode is the introduction to the two Hands of Blue men and not having anymore information about them after that. I wonder why it wasn't touch on in the movie. :-\ I also wonder if shows like this are giving us to hints if the world is ending...

The hands of blue would have been important in the series if it continued. I loved Mal's reaction to finding out what it was they stole and what he did to the guys at the end I'll have to watch it to say more though

The hands of blue was creepy, and I think it definitely would have been more of a story had the series gone on. I'll re-watch Train Job soon.

I've watched it now. I liked the bit of Mal/Inara flirting in this one. For example, when he went into her little ship and asked if she could do his hair. I loved drugged-up Jayne. Even Mal and Zoe were pretty cute when they were "married". Mal: Whatever happens, remember, I love you. Zoe: Sir? Mal: Because you're my wife. Zoe: Right. Sir. Honey. It's a decent episode, but FOX really did f**k up by playing this one first.

I love the married scene with Mal and Zoe. Zoe trying to sound all affectionate was hilarious.

I've seen this many times but this is probably the first time I realised just how creepy this episode was!

The reavers introduction was very creepy. The Alliance also showed why they are the "Bad Guys" of the series in his episode, what asses I don't like how the guy began to turn into a reaver, fair enough he would be royally screwed up but why the forked tongue? It makes no sense after seeing the movie too. OH well. Quotes: WASH: Oh, god! What could it be? We're doomed! Who's flyin' this thing? Oh. Right. That'd be me. Back to work. JAYNE: He looked bigger when I couldn't see him. BOOK: So he'll live then. MAL: Which to my mind is unfortunate. ZOE: Captain was looking for a pilot. I found a husband. Seemed to work out. HARKEN: You fought with Captain Reynolds in the war? ZOE: Fought with a lot of people in the war. HARKEN: And your husband? ZOE: Fight with him sometimes, too. WASH: The legs. Oh yeah, definitely have to say it was her legs. You can put that down. Her legs, and where her legs meet her back. Actually, that whole area. That, and above it. MAL: It's a real burden being right so often.

Jayne: You saved his gorram life, he still takes the cargo. Mal: He had to.... couldn't let us profit. Wouldn't be civilized.
This episode is creepy. Have always not liked watching this episode, cept for the funny bit in the middle when Zoe and Wash are getting interviewed by Alliance. Illustrates the Alliance threat to their way of life though and also introduces the Reavers, which are important, so I guess it needed to be creepy.

It makes no sense after seeing the movie too. OH well. I liked that he was becoming a reaver. I thought that was incredibly creepy. Maybe if the series wasn't canceled, they would have explained why he started to act like one. But even if most people don't become a reaver, maybe he was just a special case. I like this episode. I like when Simon and River go outside Serenity .. I think that would be awesome.

I would have reacted more like Simon did! I love how he got into his suit when he went into the other spaceship and everyone was out of it. Laughed when Kaylee said he got it on wrong. Glad he did that mistake first before hiding outside. I actually liked that that survivor turned into a Reaver. Explains how Reavers grown in 'population'. Though more explanation on the Reavers would have been nice too. The movie did give us some insight but I would have liked more. Loved the interrogation scene! Jayne's and Wash's one was hilarious.

ShindigI love this episode because, 1) we get to see Mal in a fancy suit and 2) we get to see Mal doing a fancy dance. My favourite scene besides the ones at the part would be the last scene where it's just Inara and Mal sitting in the cargo, talking. It's also the most frustrating as I always seem to be screaming, "Just kiss her already!" This is also the first ep where we see just how clueless Mal and Inara are to each other's attraction, which is always fun to watch. And Kaylee was adorable in this episode. Kaylee: I like the ruffles. Inara gets to wear whatever she wants. Mal: What are you going to do in that rig? Flounce around the engine room? You'd look like a sheep walkin' on its hind legs. Wash: Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower. Somewhat less attractive now that she's all corpsified and gross. Jayne: We was just about to spring into action, Captain. Complicated escape and rescue op. Wash: Very exciting. I was going to watch. Jayne: What we need is a diversion. I say Zoe gets naked. Wash: No! Jayne: I could get naked...? Wash and Zoe: No! Zoe: If I'm going to wear a dress, I want one with some slink. Wash: You want a slinky dress, I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress? Jayne: I'll chip in. Zoe: (through her smile, to Jayne) I can hurt you.

BUMP! SafeCan't say it my favourite episode, but it was a nice look into the relationship of Simon and River. Oh and look! A young Zac Efron! Love Jayne stealing Simon's things and then putting it back! I would have thought he would have the decency to put them back. River: Liou koe shway biao-tze huh hoe-tze bun ur-tze. (Ignorant son of a drooling harlot and a monkey)Book: I am a shepherd. Folks like a man of God. Mal: No they don't. Men of God make everyone feel guilty and judged Mal: (trying to avoid cow deposits) This is the last time. The last time with cows. Hey, there's an idea regarding beagles? They have smallish droppings? Zoe: I believe so, sir. Mal: It looks like we arrived just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir. Mal: Ain't we just. absolutely love Zoe's line in this.

This is also the first ep where we see just how clueless Mal and Inara are to each other's attraction, which is always fun to watch. Yeah i don't think they are clueless at all. Inara knows Mal wants her. Mal knows there is something there. They are both just too scared to put themselves out there and do something about it. Safe is probably my least favourite episode. Will watch it before i comment more.

I thought this episode was nice cause it finally showed Mal including Simon and River in the crew. Plus I love Flahback to pre-crazy River.
