I didn't really know whether to put this in a certain subsection, so I just put it here.

Ever noticed how some actresses or actors just lack talent, and wonder how they got into the business in the first place? I know I have but I can't think of specfic ones right now (other than the obvious Paris Hilton ). I was just interested in seeing who you thought can and can't act.

Jessica Simpson can't act. Hilary Duff isn't great.

Oh there are lots of people that I think suck at acting, but that's my opinion, and I know others might think the opposite. Keanu Reeves and Kevin Costner are two that I can't stand, but I know people who adore them.

Keanu's really wooden, but I think he generally picks roles that suit that.

Lacking talent isn't only something with acting, look at the music industry, too. A lot of it comes down to whether someone has the right "look" or not.

Also, I think that a lot has to do with the director and script, as well as simply the actor or actresses talent. Take Allison Mack for example (I've been watching a bit of Smallville on DVD ) - I don't think anybody's going to claim that she's a brilliant actress, by any stretch of the imagination, but she's adequate in the role. Anyway, the Smallville season 5 DVD has a series of mini episodes used to advertise the show (The Vengeance Chronicles). And Allison Mack was terrible, failing to give a single convincing line. This is someone who has played the same character for five years, and yet still managed to fail with her performance.

Hey now! Waterworld is a masterpiece! Actually, he wasn't all that bad in The Upside of Anger.

Bre you hurt me , I thought keanu reeves was great in Speed, and he wasnt that bad in "The Notebook" though both these movies have one major connection

I assume you mean The Lakehouse there Nico And i adore Keanu. I think he's great in a lot of films - Speed, The Matrix, Bill and Ted's ( ), Point Break....

I think there are heaps of actors and actresses without talent (barring the obvious Skanko Hilton ). Andie McDowell is horrendous. I don't know how she got the parts she did. Naomi Watts overacts. Which i think is on par with having no talent. No one on Home and Away can act I'll add to the list as i think of them.

I generally feel all singers turned actors can't act (except for a small few. Mandy Moore the only one I can think of).

There are a number of actors that can't act but I can't seem to remember any names at the moment. But I do agree on Keanu Reeves and Kevin Costner.

I think Jennifer Lopez acts far better than she sings. That said, she was acting first, so she doesn't strictly fall into that category.

J Lo is alright but I don't really like her generally so I tend to be bias when I say she's not a very good actor.

Yeah, i'm not a huge J-Ho fan but she's certainly not the worst actress i've ever seen. Although she does do that 'whisper for emotion' thing that tends to annoy me

It annoys me too, and I'm not a huge fan of her acting. But she's passable in most movies, which is more than I can say about her music.

Michelle Trachtenberg I couldn't stand her as Dawn not to mention she went from one extreme to the next in the drama department when she did Ice Princess, made me wanna hurl which is never good. Nicole Kidman never really had much talent to work with, then you have Will Farrell Eww the man makes me sick because 1. He can't act 2. he's uglier then hell, 3. well there is no three but another one is Billy Bob Thorton so there's four actors/actresses I think lack in the talent department.

I think Billy Bob is a talented actor. But I agree about Will Ferrell, he's one of those actors who I see in a movie and know its a movie thats likely to make me cringe

I'm going to have to disagree about Will Ferrel. That man makes me laugh like no other. I don't think the half naked Will Ferrel is the funniest but on SNL and movies like Elf he is so funny. And in Stranger Than Fiction he wasn't bad at the serious stuff. I think he's talented.

And I don't think people give Michelle Trachtenberg the credit she deserves. I'm not saying she's the best, but I don't think she's as bad as people think she is.

Its the "Get out get out get out!" I haven't seen her in anything apart from Buffy. I haven't seen Elf or Stranger than Fiction, everything I have seen Will Ferrell in has been cringe worthy. The same can be said for half of Ben Stiller's movies actually

Geez, i wonder how with that lack of talent she managed to win an Oscar, 3 Golden Globes and about 30 other acting awards Yeah, i'd hate to have as little talent as her.

Will Ferrell is great. I don't think thwre's any denyng his talent, only whether his particular sense of humour is to your liking. And Stranger than Fiction is a movie that I keep referring the Ferrell haters to. It shows that he's far more than just a silly comedian.

Kristen Stewart. I just watched Adventureland. She's exactly the same as in Twilight. Bland!
