People should care about making themselves look more stupid by spelling badly!

I just don't understand why people don't read their posts back, see glaring mistakes and modify them Is that really too much to ask?

Ok yes its annoying but I can't enforce a spell check rule All I can ask is that people are a little more aware of bad spellings and try to correct it. I edit all spelling mistakes in thread titles but I leave the posts alone... so its up to everyone to read back their posts to make sure they are ok

Hey Beck I was wondering if theres anything on the forum about what all the little icons mean when your posting, I know it's a Newbie Question but I really Have no clue! .

My screen used to tell me what they were when I rolled my mouse pointer over them but now it wont tell me , was wondering if its anywhere on the site, so I can learn stuff !

The top row is about your text, bold, Italics, underscore, strikethrough, glow, shadow, the M is move, it scrolls your text in the post like so

(glow and shadow only work in IE)

The next four are paragraph options, not sure about the arrow, then size and colour.

Next line I have no clue what half of them do, best way to find out would be to experiment lol. First is blockquote (eh?) second is the url tags, then ftp tags (whatever they are), then img tags, then email tags. Then the table options, the sup is text above the line ^{like this} sub is the bottom of the line _{like this}, next one who knows, then there's the code tags, the quote tags, bulets and the spoiler tags. OK I did know most of them lol

OK, I know Beck had an idea/goal for this forum when she and Kate (it was Kate, right?) started it, so I leave all final word with her. If she doesn't think this is something that will enhance the forum or be of interest/benefit to its members, then I will understand and look elsewhere for these experiences. However, I wanted to post this instead of going straight to Beck so that other members had the opportunity to post their viewpoints.

There are really only two things keeping me at BuffyWorld: the fanart and fanfiction challenges. I know that there are members on here that dabble in art and/or fiction, but those subsections have never been very large. Since that's not the main purpose behind KAX, though, I don't mind. And perhaps we don't have enough members interested in those areas to support such challenges.

I'm simply wondering if there's enough interest among the artists and writers who frequent here to start something akin to the challenges on BWF. I have some ideas (based mainly on the events run at BWF) as to how we could do these--and I'm sure other members would have ideas to contribute as well.

I'm not trying to turn this into the next BWF. I certainly don't want to see KAX have the problems BWF is currently going through. I'm simply looking for somewhere I can continue to find inspiration for my art and writing (as challenges are traditionally the main source of my inspiration). If the place to do this isn't KAX, I'm more than happy to go elsewhere. I just thought I'd suggest it here, as I know we have a few artists/writers in our midsts.

Well your post got my first post I have interest of putting my fanfiction up here too; and thats a nice 60 episodes right there!

I think any of our artistic talents would be good to show on KAX, and it would definately draw me here

Aslong as people dont simply show up specifically for those reasons. Its not my forum but i like that people come here and post all over the forum and we are all friends. If we get a large influx of artists/ficcers purely coming for that section and not getting involved everywhere else i dont think that would be a positive. But if it can be a starting block for them to get involved around the forum then that would be alright. Aslong as it doesnt take over the forum like it has in the VIP on BW

I have no objections to expanding the Fan Fiction and Fan Art sections. Fan Fiction is possibly large enough now to warrant its own section instead of a subsection, but unfortunately fan art just isn't active enough to have more than a sub section - at this time. Should it get busier I am happy to change my mind on that too. And I am more than happy to have challenges go ahead. However - I am neither a fan artist or ficcer, so it would be up to someone else to run those.

Like Glenn said though, I do pride this forum on its friendly atmosphere, and would prefer people not to solely post in those sections but hopefully it works out fine. So lets give it a go

I had no intentions of any of that happening when I posed the idea, Glenn, but I'm glad you brought it up. I don't want this to become a group of fic writers and artists who exclude everyone else from their conversations. I really just wanted it to be something nice for those members who are already here and interested in those areas of fandom. And, of course, as new members joined they could join in, too, if they were interested, but I wasn't looking at using this as a recruitment tool. I like the small town USA, family feel of KAX and would hate to lose that.

However, I certainly understand your apprehensiveness and don't want that feeling being the one that pervades the forum. Like I said in my earlier post, I'm happy to participate in such challenges elsewhere.

Well I've set up a fanfic section already and will get around to cleaning it up I swear As for the Fanart challenges, do we want challenges and battles? Start a thread in Fan Art hun, about hosting the challenges and how to (I'd suggest ANYONE can host one, fan artist or not, some people who dont do art might still have good challenge ideas and they can always recruit someone else to make their awards)

Tash and Glenn pointed out I wrote the wrong Title for my Poll question in the Immunity Thread, I was wondering if it can be changed? I dont think I can modify polls, I was thinking maybe mod or definetly Admin could?

From the home page it says the last post in general chat was by Tash at 10am this morning, not displaying any of the new posts. Buit its alright once i actually go into general chat.

Same with the tv/movies section. New posts arent being displayed from the home page.
