Argh, she survived. ... As you can see, I'm not a big Meredith fan. It's not really a big shocker to me that she survived. It's GREY'S Anatomy. They weren't going to kill her off. I kept saying that throughout the episode, and voila- I was right. I wasn't too sure about the afterlife scenes with the dead people, especially since Denny didn't really have an impact on Meredith's life... I would think that the one mainly talking to her would be that bomb squad guy, but no. I called Meredith's mother dying. I had read spoilers that saying that there would be two deaths in the episode, and only one would stick- and it'd be the make or break of the show. Which, it wasn't really the make or break of the show, imo. Ah well. It was still a good episode, I just thought it was very predictable for the most part. Also, I think that if any other patient were flatlining for as long as Meredith had been, they would have called the time of death. I understand she's their friend but... OH! Then again maybe not. Since hypothermia can preserve a person for a while even if their heart is not beating. Meh, I don't know. Overall, good episode. Predictable at times but I still enjoyed it.

don't say bad things about Meredith! True Denny may have been used because he was a big fan favorite but I still think it worked very well, plus it tied in very nicely with Izzy at the end! As foar as the calling the death thing I think they went above and beyond because she is one of them, but they were gonna let her go until Christina broke down!

Awesome epsiode! And how right was I that I thought Meredith would see her mom in the afterlife? I thought the whole afterlife thingy worked really well and though I thought Denny being there for Meredith was odd in the last episode, it flowed nicely in this ep. I loved the talk they had and it was just so heartbreaking to see Meredith admitting that she gave up. Excellent performance by EP. Christina was hilarious when she was showing off her purchases to Joe. And it was such a Christina thing to do as well - not dealing with it but running away. The same thing happened with Burke so it was very in character when the same thing happened again. Speaking of being in character, I'm so glad that Ellis Grey stayed in character even in the afterlife. I was so sure she'll start saying things like, "Meredith, I love you. I always did" and become all sappy. I'm glad that didn't happen. She stayed true to her character so hats off to the writers. I was pleased to see Marti Noxon writing this episode with Shonda and there were quite a number of lines where you could tell it was Marti's doing. I love the part when Dylan and Denny was trying to tell Meredith she was indeed dead but she was too preoccupied with Doc. George and Izzie. Man, I really don't know where to start with these two. I hated that Izzie attacked Callied like that and she deserved it when Callie told her off. But I'm more glad that George walked away from Izzie and didn't easily forgive her. For his sake, I hope their marriage work. Just to shut Izzie up. I love Izzie but really, that was out of line - even for her. I can't wait to see where their friendship will go in the future. These two are very close and this is probably the first time they ever fought like this. I hope their friendship is stronger than this and they would be close again. But then again, I hope Izzie learns just how out of line she was and that she would accept Callie as George's wife. Excellent performance by Patrick Dempsey. I cried when he yelled at Meredith's mom and came out of the room with Addison crying. You could clearly see that he loved her very much. Hmmm...I wonder whether that's why Ellis died. I thought she died without warning and I have this feeling that what Derek said to her broke her - litterally. Overall, it was an excellent epsiode. Not as good as the last one but it was a great ending to a great arc. The ending with Izzie and Denny was just perfect. Agrh! Now, we have to wait for two weeks for another episode! Grrr...

Seriously! we have to wait 2 weeks for the next ep! how come? I didn't think Ellis died without warning she did have a life threatening heart condition that was supposed to be operated on that day so it's believeable that she'd arrest before the op and of course Burke wasn't there to get her into surgery right away. I thought it was absolutely perfect what she said to Meredith it was just right for the character and probably meant a lot more than an 'I love you'.
I agree about Izzy, I have the prejudice she has against Callie and its only because she thinks she's gonna take George away from her. Which HELLO! is only gonna happen because of Izzy's stupid actions!
I though everybody was on top of their game for the whole ep, not a single fault to be found in the acting, especially with EP, your right the best part was when she admitted what happened and thats gonna have some serious consequences. I wonder if she will tell everyone about the afterlife?
One thing I didn't like was the Addison/Mark thing at the end, I really really don't want them to be together

Seriously! I'm not sure why we have to wait two weeks though. But according to tvtome.com, the next ep airs on the 15th of March. I agree about Addison and Mark. Honestly, I'm surprise with Addison. I thought she would turn her attention towards Alex and I really thought she learnt her lesson with Mark. So I'm a bit disappointed with her. I'm not a fan of Mark nowadays. He is just there - doing nothing, affecting nothing. I really wish he leave because him staying is making the people around him do stupid things - Callie sleeping with him, Addison making stupid bets with him, etc. #rolleyes# I can't see Meredith telling everyone about her afterlife or the fact that she gave up. But I can see this secret eating her up, putting a strain on her relationship with her friends and with Derek. I think Derek will suffer most. I can totally see Meredith becoming even more dark and twisty. As for the whole Callie/George/Izzie triangle, I'm waiting for the fireworks to happen.

I agree Mark needs to get the hell out of there. maybe they should have killed him off instead I think Derek already knows Meredith gave up, like he said she's a good swimmer so that will no doubt put a strain on things. I don't think she'll become too dark and twisty, she seemed ok with her mother dying and that suggests to me that she's glad to be back and she got that final validation from her mother. I noticed Burke finally got what it meant for Meredith to be Christina's person and he did the right thing in forcing her to go over there.

I'm glad Burke finally understood Meredith being Christina's person. And it was really sweet and understanding of him to encourage Christina to go and say goodbye to Meredith. That is one of the reasons why I love Burke. As for Derek and Meredith, Meredith might not turn out dark and twisty after this, but I won't be surprise if Derek bugs her on why she gave up. He was so worried about her when she tried to drown herself in the pool so I can't imagine how much this must be worrying for him. Do you think after this epsidoe, Bailey would get Chief Resident? I hope she does. She sooo deserves it.

Bailey would be my only choice anyway, that Sydney makes me wanna with all that smilies hug crap! But Baliey definately deserves it. Your right about Derek but he's gonna have to not push it too far otherwise Meredith won't let him in, some habits don't die so easy

Sydney cracks me up. She really does. Compared to her, Bailey is such a better choice for Chief. Everyone is scared of Bailey, has a lot of respect for her. Can't say the same for Sydney though. They might be scared of her but not the same way as they are for Bailey. I just caught the episode where she first appears in season 2. The expression on Christina's face when she hugs her was hilarious!

Did anyone see the promo for 3x18? I always thought Izzie and George belonged together but now? Not so much. I love their friendship and it's nice to see a great friendship between a man and a woman without anything more. If the writers do pursue something more with George and Izzie, I hope they'll retain their friendship as well. I'm starting to like Callie a lot now and I really hope there's nothing between Geogre and Izzie - I don't want to see his marriage ruin.
So do you think that it's because Izzie has feelings for George, that's why she can't get along with Callie? Looks that way.
Can't wait for the next ep. The break was too long!!
