50 Best sequels according to Empire: www.empireonline.com/50greatestsequels/default.asp?c=50I am not a fan of most sequels, but their top ten isn't bad. I would have put the Godfather II as #1. Funny they didn't have any LotR though? Maybe they think of it as one big movie ..

I looked around, couldn't find one. The top 10 is really all you need to look at anyway.

Here's a great article asking if sequels are killing Hollywood. It has some really interesting points. One person mention how all Tim Burton has been doing is remakes and reboots and we don't see any more of his great movies like Edward Scissorhands and how Ben Stiller, although great along with the rest of the cast, should be working on something other than the Fockers stuff. These talented people should be spending more time on brand new original stuff than the stuff that may be good, but is mostly for money.

I agree with a lot of that. I have always loved Tim Burton's films but I would prefer to see him go back to making original movies over the remakes. It isn't that I don't mostly enjoy his remakes, but often there is no need for them and I'd prefer to see someone with that much talent make movies that are originally his. But he at least gives a new spin on the old movies, a lot of remakes aren't like that.

Halloween had 8 in the series, though 3 wasnt with Michael Myers, though did have some of the cast from the original in there.
Friday the 13th, stopped at 10, and was intended to end at 13. That is from the original with Jason. Both series does not included remakes.
