What are everyone's favourite musicals?
Mine would of course include Grease. All time classic, never gets old. I also really love Moulin Rouge, out of the newer ones.

Mama Mia! and Newsies are my two absolute favorites of all time. But I've found there's few I've seen that I don't like, though some of the classics (like Grease and The Sound of Music) get old quickly.

I havent saw many musiclas except the classics like Grease, and sound of music , I saw the rocky horror picture show, that was weird but it was really good. I had a look at channel fours run down of 100 greatest musicals, and these stood out, I love them! Oliver, Mary Poppins , the wizard of Oz, Annie , Charlie and the Cholate Factory, nightmare before Christmas. They also listed Grease as the greatest musical of all time . www.channel4.com/film/newsfeatures/microsites/M/musicals/results_100to96.html

Yeah Grease never gets old. Thats just a ridiculous thing to say I love it. Have since i was 4 and i snuck watched it down the hall while my parents were watching it. It made me love movies. Its where my obsession started Moulin Rouge is another favourite. And not just because i adore Nicole. I think its genius. Old school ones like West Side Story, Singin in the Rain, Sound of Music etc have their good points too

Sam and I used to dance around the lounge room singing all the songs from Grease - my parents had the soundtrack so we would put it on repeat and do all the dances... Was funny when we had friends over and they would join in I love Moulin Rouge too, Bernie still hasnt finished watching it! And I have never seen The Sound of Music.

Personally I love it, Its based on a true wartime Story, Its really Interesting and the songs are Lovely! and the children are sweethearts . You should both try to have a look at it at one point, No one should go threw life without seeing it

Ems! Grease never gets old!! I was a music major. That alone is reason enough for me to find many classic things in the realm of music (including Classical and jazz standards) old. Don't get me wrong. I like Grease. I just can't watch it too often because I tire of it fairly easily, same with Sound of Music. I do love West Side Story. Have only seen it once, though.

My all-time favourites are Moulin Rouge (it's amazing, and the shift in tone works wonderfully), The Wizard of Oz (even if it is a pale imitation of the books, it's still a classic), Grease ('nuff said, really), and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (my grandmother had me dancing to the Time Warp since I was 3 years old).
Also a big fan of the second version of Little Shop of Horrors and Chicago.
Do people think that the movie industry will be able to bring musicals back into popularity? There have been a couple of efforts, but they don't seem to be going too far.

I just watched High School Musical again, Technically it counts, and although cheesy I love it, reminds me of Steven because I watched it for the first time in his House . Songs are catchy to, The dancing isnt to good!.
