Yeah I agree Kana, I think Clems awareness of Wrong and right definetly seperate him from the usual type of bloodthirsty Demon.
Take Giles when he was turned into a demon, at first he was only experiencing the demons powers, strength etc;, and then he started to experience the demon, saying he was getting hungry, Even though technically that demon had a human soul inside it, (It was still the same Giles we know and love), Giles was still experiencing bloodthirst, I think its all to do with the type of demon.

Great example. It's the same thing as a souled Spike and Angel. They still need their blood, and they still have the urge to drink from people. But the soul means that they fight to contain those urges and impulses.

I've always thought of the "inner Demon" as a very strong ID (has taken WAY too many psych classes). But it's like Dr. Walsh says in season four. The ID wants all the time. It doesn't care about anything other than getting what it wants, and I think of the demons that way in most cases. The soul acts as the SuperEgo, keeping it in check.

Actually, it's a great way to look at it, Skitty. I've never considered it that way, but it does make perfect sense.

Thank you. And with a character like Clem, you have to wonder, what does his demon want? I say it's Doritos. And occasionally kittens. Therefore, he doesn't really need a very strong superego to keep in check.

That is an excellent idea, Skitty!
And it would explain why Clem wasn't evil and why they never mentioned him having a soul (I would think it would have been mentioned if he had had one).
