Definitely read Fray first. The others are Good, but Fray is a beast all it's own.

I've read Fray and I think it's worth a read also. I've read volumes 1 and 2 of Astonishing X-Men and I like them a lot. I haven't read either Tales' volume, but I'm hoping to buy them soon

I've been kicking around the idea of doing a novelization of Fray for Pesha's sake since she can't seem to get her hands on it. If I did that, would you guys want to read it? I mean...it won't be the same because it'll be prose and therefore SKitty-ized, but still.

I definitely wouldn't mind having a read, either Skitty. I still maintain that Fray would lend itself to a movie really well, though.
Ryley, Astonishing volume 3 is worth a read, though it doesn't quite live up to the first two.

I quite enjoyed it, Paul. It's not overly dramatic, but it's quite funny. Each issue is an individual story, where Spike comes into conflict with Dracula again.

I thought Spike vs Dracula was pretty freaking hilarious. Just prepare yourself for some HORRIBLE art. I mean...really really really bad. REALLY BAD. If only they could have had the guy who did Spike old times to do it.
EDIT: Oh, and I posted the first chapter of the Fray adaptation in the general fic section.

I didn't think the art on Spike vs Dracula was that bad. It wasn't great, but there's far worse stuff out there.
I'll have to check your adaptation when I get the chance.

I thought it was abysmal, particularly the last chapter. It was almost painful. And in my personal opinion, if the art is terrible, it's going to take a lot for me to read a comic. I mean, it's almost a thousand times more important than the words in a lot of cases. If I can't stand looking at it, or can't see the play of emotions on facial features, what's the point?

See, I thought you could see the play of emotions there. It was serviceable, but it did the job. And I don't agree that art is more important than the writing, either.
I think it was Kevin Smith who said "the artists job is to sell the comic, the writer's job is to get the audience to come back for the next issue".
By the way, I've updated the list to include Y: The Last Man and Fallen Angel. Also, if anyone's looking at getting into the Joss issues of Runaways, a comic summarising the story so far has been released this week.

I was thinking of getting into Runaways but id be lost in the middle of it all not knowing whats happening lol.
I just read the comic of when Buffy when she went in the nut house. Slayer Interrupted. I really liked the art on that. I really liked the front cover.
The story was quite nice but i would have liked to have seen more of Willow and Xander insted of a one page glimps.

I got Fray in today. I've only read the first chapter, but it's really good so far. I love her character. I like the line (I think this is right) Some dude: "You're late" Fray: "You're fat"

Yeah, I love Fray, too. She's an awesome character, as well as unique. She gets some more great lines throughout the story. Let me know what you think of the rest of it.
Vampire Dust, I'd be inclined to grab the Runaways comic that was released this month - basically, it's a stand alone special before Joss comes on, and explains it all. And then, I'd also go back and read the old issues.

Joss's first issue of Runaways (#25) hits on Wednesday in the States, and shortly later elsewhere (Australia's is estimated at the following Tuesday because of Easter delays).
The book rocked before Joss, and I recommend you all check this out when you go and buy Buffy #2 (since they're both out on the same day).
