So which is your favourite season of BtVS? and why?
My favourite is season 3. I love the mayor story arc, faith, and I love the individual episodes. The only thing I disliked in it was Bangel, but it had its moments (the Prom was great)

So, what did Buffy teach us? High School is hell. Giant bug substitute teachers, zombie football players, witch cheerleaders and Hyena people on campus. And Sunydale High literally explodes at the end of season 3.
The arrival of the spunky and charismatic Faith as the new slayer in town and the complete opposite of Buffy. She's basically everything Buffy would never let herself become, and come on, she had that awesome knife.
Season three has many fantastic episodes, including the awesome season finale. Flaming arrows = cool.

Yeh I went for season 3 too, its no secret I love that season and find myself really hard pressed to find a bad episode. Just think if it wasn't for season 3 being so good would we have stuck through season 4? I think I may have been tempted to give up after 'Beer Bad'.

I think I've only ever seen Beer bad twice. Making it the least watched episode of Buffy and Angel...
And season 4 was just... bad.
And yeah seasons 2 and 3 were both awesome, but season 3 bangel was boring. So I went for season 2.

But season 4 is only bad because of the Initiative and Adam. It had some of the best episodes in the entire show in it. Something Blue, Hush, Who are You, Restless, to name a few. Really, there are only about 3 or 4 episodes I didn't enjoy in the season. No more than any other season.

yeh it does have some excellent episodes but some real stinkers too. I do enjoy watching the season but not as much as others, which is a shame because I really love the relationship that builds between Buffy + Riley. Maybe its time to watch it again coz it grows on me more everytime

Yeah season 4 grows on you the more times you watch it (i even dislike Riley less and less with every viewing). There are some bloody brilliant eps (see Becks list) and some absolute shockers- much the same as every other season. I mean look at the Season 5 dribble that is Real Me, Blood Ties, I was made to love you for example.... Joss himself has said that Season 4 has some of the strongest eps in the whole series and i completely agree but as a whole story arc it suffers because the main badie/s (Adam and the Initative) are just plain bad

I also found season 5 to have some episodes of crapness, yet so many people find that season really brilliant. It's strange, I see the storyline, and it really is marvellous... I mean the key/god/hell dimension thing really is a great idea, but I didn't much like the way it was carried out and a lot of the individual episodes just ruin it for me.

I completely agree. The storyline is so there but the execution leaves something to be desired. But I think a lot of my problem with Season 5 is Dawn. I hate her. A lot. And i'm sorry but if i was Buffy i would have pushed her off that bloody platform faster than you could say "Spike is God".

I'm one of those people who class Season 5 as thier favourite There were very few things I disliked about season 5, the Dracula episode being at the top of the list. Dawn wasn't so bad. She's cute.

Right there with you. I really wanted to just throw her down a cliff.
And Riley. His presence in the first half did nothing to help make the season bearable. I just hate him so much. More than Dawn. Which is saying something.
You didn't like the Drac ep? here here! I don't get why so many people think Buffy vs Dracula was so good. I thought it was mediocre even for a season 5 episode... Which means I thought it was BAD.

yeh that ep really was bad, it was really stereotypical + not as funny as it was meant to be. I know Dawn was bad + annoying in season 5 but I just love Glory too much to say season 5 was bad.

People like it? What? How? It was one of the worst episodes in the entire series. It had some funny moments with Xander, but the majority of it was crap. The idea of having dracula was cool, but they should have done a much better job. Season 5 had the best season arc. The Dawn/key arc was awesome. Riley was irritating, but they got rid of him early enough. And I'm with Buffymanic, I loved Glory.
