Ok... I guess everyone has already listed every possible episode I cry at while watching... except one... I know I'm going to get my head chopped off for this, but I'll say it anyway... after all, if *I* don't say it, who's going to stand up for it in here ? So... the one I need to add to all those that have been mentioned is... - "Into the Woods": Buffy and Riley fighting first and then Buffy running after the helicopter, shouting at it and seeing Riley fly away... There, I said it. I know probably most fans rejoiced at that scene. But not me. I'm one of the few who liked Riley, and that scene broke my heart.

I don't have Riley hate anymore and that scene gets to me too. But it was also kinda cheesy, her arriving just as they've taken off and she knows exactly where he is taking off from the helicopter in? Meh. Still sad.

I know... kinda unrealistic thinking about it But personally, I was too emotionally involved in what was happening to even just notice that. Well, I guess that means Joss (or whoever wrote that scene) did a good job with the episode... though I'll never forgive him!

I cried in that episode, too, but not when Buffy was screaming for Riley, it was when Xander was speeching at her. What a good guy.

I got weepy during that scene with Riley leaving and have never denied it lol. I feel so sorry for him, not because he was an innocent in it all just the fact that he DID love Buffy yet he left thinking that she hated him and didnt want him to stay. That must have stuck with him for a while, also kinda explains why he married so fast i reckon.

I've never cried in an episode of Buffy (in fact, the only TV that ever brought a tear to my eye was the finale to Dr Who season 2 (the new Dr Who, that is)).
But the episode which gets me close is always The Body - it's just upsetting.
EDIT - Oh, and Jenny Calendar's death really got to me as well.

It seems to be one that people have forgotten about, for some reason. I wonder why

I'm sure I had an argument about this somewhere but Jenny's death never got me anywhere near crying, sure it was sad but i ddn't find it upsetting

I didnt find her death upsetting, I found peoples reactions to it upsetting, Jenny hadnt had the time to call to me like Giles had, and I was inconsolible when I seen what it done to giles, willow and buffy

I agree with Nico. It's not so much that Jenny was gone, it's the reaction of everyone else. When Angelus was looking through the window at everyone's reactions over the phone, I teared up, not because Jenny was dead but because of their reactions. And again after Giles tried to set fire to the factory and he started crying, oh man I was gone.

Also the Passion speech being voiced over that scene to, made it worse, and Yeah Bre, I lost it again When Giles started crying at the factory to! also the look on Angelus's face, he loved it, he loved what it was doing to them.
Yeah Tash I agree it was a powerfull scene, also helped by the fact we never saw it from inside the house, it was all looking through the window.

The reactions are horrible. What Angelus did was horrible from the outset, because you knew what the impact it was going to have.

There are quite a number.
1) When Oz leaves Willow 2) When Buffy kills Angel and the whole scene after that was just heartbreaking. 3) Dawn's breakdown when she hears about her mom's death.

To those who've missed this thread, what scenes make you cry?
Has anybody seen any episodes again recently that you forgot about?

Like yourself Allan I've never actually cried during an episode of Buffy (well I did once but admittedly I was crying about something totally different whilst I was watching) but Passion gets me. Giles, Willow and Buffy's reaction to Jenny's death are heart rending but Angelus was also fantastic as a villain because what he does really affects the group emotionally.
The Body is another one for me. I loved Joyce and the episode is just so raw. To me, that is what death is like. It feels stupid and pointless and there isn't any melodramatic score music in the background. A really brave and honest episode and it hits me like a truck.

Here's my vist of scenes that made me cry: Passion- when Willow and Buffy find out that Jenny is dead Becoming Part 2- when Buffy kills Angel then leaves town Beauty and the Beasts- when Angel drops to his knees and hugs Buffy's legs- that scene was so moving imo The Prom- when Jonathon gives Buffy the award and when Angel comes The Gift- Buffy's speech to Dawn, and Spike's reaction of her death Bargaining Part 2- when Dawn hugs Buffy at the end, but Buffy has that look of pure horror on her face. For some reason it chokes me up. Tabula Rosa- Tara leaving Willow Seeing Red- when Tara dies Grave- Xander's yellow crayon speech Help- when Cassie tells Buffy and Xander all the things she wanted to do in her life The Killer in Me- when Willow tells Kennedy about how she "let Tara be dead" And that's it. That was more than I expected .

I cried a lot through out Buffy. So let's see... -Innocence-- all that stuff with Angel going evil and at first Buffy doesn't know it and then you're just like oh man Angel's evil, it just made me cry. -Passion-- need I say more? Jenny's death, Buffy's and Willow's reactions to the phone call, Giles going for revenge, "Jenny was the only one I'd loved" -I Only Have Eyes for you-- I don't remember exactly what it was, but just seeing Angel and Buffy back together like that got to me. -Becoming-- Angelus and Buffy fighting, Angel getting his soul back, Buffy killing him, "Full of Grace" in the background, Buffy standing on the outside watching her friends, Buffy leaving -Anne-- seeing Buffy all alone -Beauty and the Beasts-- Angel saving Buffy and then saying her name. -The Wish- yikesers it was just so sad. Everyone died, and all the wrong people killed each other. And Buffy walking through Angel's dust! -The Prom-- when Angel breaks up with Buffy and when he comes to prom to be with her -Wild at Heart-- when Willow cries, I tend to cry. And plus, I love Oz. -Into the Woods-- Surprisingly. I hate Riley, but I still cried when Buffy just missed him and he left -The Body-- I didn't like the episode much, but just the shock of Joyce's death and then everyone's reactions got to me. -Forever-- Still talking about Joyce's death -The Gift-- Spike's reaction to Buffy's death -Bargaining-- when Buffy comes back -Tabula Rasa-- when Tara leaves Willow -Hell's Bells-- I don't remember exactly what, but basically Xander leaving Anya at the altar. -Seeing Red- Grave-- Yep pretty much all through these, especially Willow's reaction to Tara's death and then when Xander brings her back. Oh and her little speech in Rack's place in Two to Go. -Same Time, Same Place-- When Willow's all alone -Selfless-- Anya's flashback to Once More With Feeling when she's seeing about Xander, and then she's crying when she wakes up. -The Killer in Me-- the end of the episode when Willow's crying so much All right I think that's it. WHOA I cry a lot. 4/5
