Music can invoke much more feelings though. The Gift music when Buffy dies and the music when Giles finds Jenny left a much more deep of an impact as when i hear the music i start to feel the emotion. The idea of no music in the episode i imagine was to translate how numb it made Buffy. But it also made me numb to any emotions, and as i said, bored And that's exactly why they didn't include music in The Body. It's a way of cheating the audience, where The Body just let the raw emotion work for itself, Glenn.

It was boring to me for the reasons i stated. I cant enjoy a episode that leaves me with no feelings one way or another, was like i hadnt watched an episode at all.

Yeah, I agree, Glenn. The episode was supposed to be numbing, and it succeeded at that. Unfortunately, for some of us, the numbness just made us bored and emotionless.

I think Killed By Death was underrated. I don't get why so many people don't like it. I also think Go Fish was underrated. I get the impression that a lot of people really don't like it... I get that it is somewhat out of place amid all the Buffy/Angelus drama, but I liked the episode. I agree Killed by Death is underrated. As for Go Fish, its mostly disliked because of how badly out of place it is there. I don't hate the episode, but its always tempting to skip it because its a filler episode, in a time where a filler wasn't needed or wanted I think the Body is overrated but its still a brilliant episode. Not one of the best imo, but it was still great. I found it more emotional with the lack of music, much more numbing and the impact was stronger. That said I cried harder when Giles left in Tabula Rasa

It's funny... It was sad, but more of a "sickening" sad, than "reduce you to tears" sad, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

I actually really liked The Body, it worked for me. It was a really brave episode and honest episode. To be honest I wouldn't have accepted the melodrama of Becoming part 2 for example in that episode.
What was great about it was how unique and different it was and that's why it stands out for me. So while it may not have been the best ep in a lot of people's eyes (it's not my favourite) I like the contrast in brings to the rest of the series.
Double Meat Palace was actually richer than most people give it credit for. The problem is, most people focus on the main 'meat' (sorry) of the episode without seeing the subtler tones of the ep and the Season. The reality and horror lie within the contextual bubble that Buffy is trapped in which calls into question Buffy's greatness which in part of her destiny. Dawn's relatively mediocre existence brings light to fact that she appears to have more choices than Buffy. This is actually a Willow positive ep which is overlooked, perhaps because her strength in this episode is negated by subsequent events. All in all, I think Double meat Palace has a lot more going on underneath the surface, that is if you are not focusing too hard on the penis lady!!!

I hated the episode before the penis lady was even revealed. And it has not got better on repeat viewing. Here's the thing - while it may have had subtler tones and more meaning than the surface (most Buffy episodes do) the fact doesn't change that the storyline and episode itself, sucked. They were boring. Cringe worthy. I don't care what important character bits came to light, the episode was crap.

Fair enough if it didn't work for you . I would say overall that the episode had more depth to it than say Beer Bad or Angel's 'Expecting'. I just think the points I mentioned are often overlooked. I that the average Buffy episode is richer than some of the better episodes of other shows, however there are degrees of depth. Medocrecy of existence and the enquirey into intellectualism and a strong continuation of both character and story arc (something NOT every Buffy/Angel episode has) is more important than the analogy of getting one's first apartment for example. I suppose it depends on what works for you.

While I wouldn't call Doublemeat Palace one of the better episodes, I don't find it to be that terrible. Definitely underrated, IMO.

I dont think the subtle Tones of the episode are enough to help the main meat story, Every Buffy episode has a main story, and subtle tones it hints on or touches on in the background, I didnt mind the episode But I wouldnt say it was under rated, I havent watched it more than once, it just doesnt interest me

I call it underrated on the basis that people hate it. I didn't love it, but I really didn't think it was that bad.

I'm not going to say what I really think is overrated because I'll get things thrown at me, but if you've seen my post in Best Buffy Eps Knockout you know what it is. One day I might give it another chance and it's not horrible, but for some reason it rubs me the wrong way.
I agree about Killed By Death, definitly underrated. I've actually always liked that episode and when I first read how many people didn't I was really surprised.

I think Tabula Rasa is overrated. Other than the Rupert/Enya/Randy interactions, everything was dull and predictable. I wish more misleading happened like Dawn thinking Tara was her sister or cousin or friend or whatever. Willow and Xander keep thinking they're a couple. I dunno, more fun misleading.
I think Where the Wild Things Are is very underrated. I really love this episode.

I do agree, Tabula Rasa was overrated. C'mon they could have done so much more with that storyline than they did, and I don't find it as funny as many fans say it is. The only part I actually find vaguely amusing was the Giles/Anya parts.
Though I do think Where the Wild Things Are deserves its place as an underrated episode, watchable but... it just doesn't do anything for me. The only bit I actually like are the Willow/Tara scenes and the ending, many of the underrated episodes seem to have hilarious endings I Robot, You Jane for example, The Puppet Show and Killed by Death being just some of them.

I didnt mind Tabula Rasa, It wasnt fantastic but it was pretty good, Though the main scenes I loved were all in the Magic Box,, and the Giles/Anya Scenes. I Robot you Jane Under rated?, That episode should be kicked to the ground and stomped on I liked The puppet show, I think that was under rated and I agree with the general consensus that Killed by Death, Underrated to.

I didn't think Tabula Rosa was overrated. I really enjoyed that episode . I also didn't think the Puppet Show was underrated either . However, I do think Killed By Dead was underrated. Oh, I also thought "I Only Have Eyes for You" was underrated. Sure, some parts were sappy, I guess, but I did like the episode overall.

I didnt like "I only have eyes for you", To me it seemed like in the Middle of having this truely unique Villain (Angelus) and this Girl suffering because of his cruel games,(Buffy) They had them all gooey eyed Kissing, I understand it was supposed to be a break from the storyline, but That was the most annoyed i have been since Xander hitting on Buffy .

I enjoyed Tabula Rasa, but I think it was slightly overrated. The episode was based on a single gimmick, which they milked for everything they could. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't spectacular.

No way was Where the Wild Things Are underrated. Its my least favourite episode by FAR and thats including it laying way behind such crap as Doublemeat Palace and I Robot (which has some funny scenes with the Giles/jenny story but thats it). I found Where the wild things are to be an entirely pointless episode, it was all about Buffy and Riley having sex What were they doing, trying to prove that there WAS some passion in that relationship? Sheesh. I enjoy Tabula Rasa :dunno: I only Have Eyes For You just sucked Its not the sappy Bangel that I dislike in that, I actually find Angelus at the end to be hilarious, but the whole storyline was boring imo. Didn't enjoy it at all. I agree Killed by Death is underrated. I love that episode :dunno:
