Does it annoy anyone else that Angel was the one to apologize to Buffy after their confrontation in Sanctuary? I thought Buffy was a total bitca in that episode and she should have been the one to apologize. She wouldn't even admit she was wrong, too!!
What do you guys think?
As a side note, who else cheered when Angel totally put her in her place?

I totally cheered. Even my dad cheered and he is usually a very nonchalant watcher of the show. I liked seeing Angel in Buffy because i pretty much like seeing him anywhere. Plus he kicked Riley's ass which i reeeeally loved on first viewing. Then all of a sudden he is saying sorry. Its all we can expect from Angel really, he could never stay mad at Buffy. Even though she clearly had no trust for Angel sending Andrew to take the Slayer Dana away and then the whole "Giles refusing to give proper support when Fred was dying" he still rushed off to rescue her from The Immortal. So it was totally in character but i did not like it.

I'd agree with all that's been said. Angel didn't want to leave things as they were: on a fight. He was more concerned about being ok with Buffy rather than beig right.
Buffy felt betrayed by Faith and by extention Angel. She expected sympathy or at least Angel to be on her side after what Faith did to her.
I think the difference here is that Angel is doing his job: saving souls and continuing to do so regardless of personal feelings or in this case his feelings for Buffy.
Buffy was definitely pissed off with Angel not taking her side and Angel anger at Buffy was what Angel would define as justified., but in retrospect both Angel and Buffy understood how the other felt. I think Angel was bigger to make an attempt at a reconcilliation but I'm glad that Buffy saw his point of view when her anger subsided.
It isn't always easy to see someone who you felt you could trust helping someone who basically set out to ruin your life. As a moral relativist and champion of subjective thought I'd say that I did identify more with Angel (yes I cheered guys) but I think both their feelings were understandable, but like the others I wish Buffy said, "I'm sorry for the way I acted in LA," but Angel understood how difficult it was for her to see Angel with Faith after everything that happened so if I were Angel, I wouldn't hold it against her, plus I wouldn't expect an apology after beating up on her boyfriend (admittedly Angel could have been a little less provocative, I think he did want to pound on Riley a bit to get his frustration out for him having what he gave up in IWRY).
I do think of course that overall this was one of the moments I definitely preferred Angel to Buffy.

I didn't like the way either Angel or Buffy behaved in Sanctuary. She had no right to rub Riley in his face, and he should have been more understanding about everything Faith had done to Buffy. I was pleased Angel apologised to Buffy, and was able to move past his jealousy to make things ok with Buffy.

I'm with Beck- I didn't like how Angel or Buffy acted in Santuary. Buffy was somewhat harsh and overbearing towards Faith, and Angel was also harsh and he hit her. Buffy and Angel both treated each other badly, so I am glad Angel came to apologize (since he was the one to kick Buffy out, he should be the one to apologize). I'm glad Buffy accepted his apology and that they ended the argument on good terms.

Well Buffy hit him first, so she kinda deserved it back But it did seem like at times Angel was harsh towards her because of what happened in IWRY - which yes he'd be hurting from that, but it was not Buffy's fault. I understood why she was so upset with Angel about Faith - Faith had done horrific things to Buffy, despite Buffy's numerous attempts to help her. And she did help Faith in the end, which still went unappreciated by Angel. It was only when Angel was going to sacrifice himself for Faith that Buffy really turned on him after helping Faith get away from the Watchers Council, and thats understandable too.

As much bad Faith had done, Angel was right. It isn't about what you've done, it's about what you want to do. Angel knows that Faith has wronged Buffy but he also knows that Faith is sorry. He tries to tell Buffy this but she doesn't listen, and even after Faith hands herself in she holds a grudge. IMo, Angel was right to shout at her.
But yes it annoyed me that he apologised. I think she should have apologised for being the way she was, rubbing Riley in his face and demanding that he do things her way. She was in the wrong, but Angel apologises? That's called being a gentleman.

Faith's turn around was very sudden though, she'd not long ago tried to take over Buffy's entire life. Its understandable she'd hold a grudge. Buffy may be the slayer, but she's also human and has feelings. What Faith did to her was unforgivable, yet Buffy did help Faith against the watchers council. She did put aside her own feelings for that. I think Angel should have been more understanding. I also think Buffy was very wrong to rub Riley in Angel's face, that was unnecessary, but I don't blame her for her distrust and anger towards Faith, and towards Angel not being understanding about it. They were both in the wrong imo, neither more than the other.
