If you could have been Joss writting either of the death scenes in Serenity who would you have killed? would it have been the same characters or different ones? would you have more or less deaths?

Wash wouldn't die! Neither would Book! If I HAD to kill someone... Simon or Zoe :dunno:

Zoe!! I don't think I could ever kill her. But I think Simon is 'disposeable' plus it would have had an interesting effect on River

I definitely wouldn't have killed Book. He had the best potential story. I guess Zoe. She kind of bored me. But then I guess it wouldn't have been effective. They all should have lived!

The thing about Joss is, he knows the power of a great death. Book and Wash were characters you love, which means taking them away (especially Wash, with the unexpected death) makes for powerful storytelling. Personally, I wouldn't have killed Book before revealing his backstory. Maybe Simon, in one big heroic gesture to save River?

No way. Simon dying would have crushed me For me, Zoe or Inara could have died without me being too sad

Hm. Well, I don't think Serenity would have had the same impact if Wash hadn't died - it was so shocking and so sad. But, if I had to choose someone else - probably Inara. I just think she's boring, plus Mal's reaction would have been interesting.

Mal's reaction to Inara would have been heartbreaking.

Yeah, it would. Personally, I wouldn't have killed Book before revealing his backstory. Maybe Simon, in one big heroic gesture to save River? Simon doesn't save River. River saves Simon! Plus, Simon can't die! Kaylee needed to have her happy ending. What do you think would happen if Jayne died?

I would of killed Zoe, she would have had a lot of impact on Mal and Wash, and that would be most interesting to see, imo, and she was my least favourite so there's that reason too

What do you think would happen if Jayne died? A lot of fans would cry. The funny thing is, though, much as everyone loves him, he didn't have a backstory that people were wanting to be revealed. And with the character's humour, a funny and not-so-emotional death might be the way he'd have to die...

Killing Jayne would have taken away the biggest Antagonist towards Mal for any future Firefly related stories. Would have been disastrous.

Yeah, it definitely would change the group dynamic.

I would definitely not killed Wash. Where else would the humour come from?! It's like killing Xander! Book's death doesn't bother as much as before. He's not as interesting anymore. But if I had the power, I would probably have killed off Zoe. I would NEVER touch Simon.

See for me it would be about getting rid of someone who is replaceable. And thats what Joss would have looked at for if he was doing a sequal. Mal and River obviously couldn't be killed. Simon either because of River (though he'd be my choice).
Kaylee or Wash both could have been killed and caused major effect on the other characters without leaving a huge gap in the cast - either has a job that could be replaced, and a love interest who would be devastated. Wash makes more sense because it allows another side of Zoe thats never been seen before to emerge.

I still would have preferred Zoe to die over Wash, but i think Zoe is more likely to stay on Serenity. I could imagine Wash wanting to leave the ship if Zoe wasn't there anymore

Simon could be killed off. No one would notice, he's done all he needed to

Simon could be killed off. No one would notice, he's done all he needed to Which should be a perfect reason to not kill him off. I mean, what point is there to killing someone off unless people actually care?

I definitely wouldn't have killed Book off because I wanted to see more of his story, dammit! While I didn't like the fact that Wash died I think it was appropriate for that sense of loss.

My first thought is Kaylee, I think it would have a strong effect on fans and characters, but that would hurt my lovely Simon to much, so the easy option is Zoe , not even sure I would notice she is gone but yeah I would kill Kaylee off.
I wouldnt have killed Book or Wash!
