Ok i don't know if you would regard Fan Fiction as literature but oh well.... Now don't get me wrong i'm a HUGE fan fiction fan, especially Spuffy and Bangel stuff but i just read the MOST disturbing thing ever. Harry Potter fan fiction starring wait for it.... Hermoine and Snape!! Yes you read that correctly. I am deeply disturbed i tell you. Its just plain wrong. Anyone else read any good fan fic? Preferably ones that aren't going to give me nightmares.....

LOL @ thought of Fanfics as literature...but yeah, I guess this is the right section for it.
I have read some fanfics, though I'm not a huge fan of it. There are some creepy buffy slash fanfics. i try to stay away from those. Alex on Buffyworld.com has written a pretty good Angel season 6. other than that, I don't like most I've read.
and ew hermoine and snape? is that writer sick? ew ew and ew.

Its beyond ew i tell ya. I was just reading away and then it just all started, right there in a classroom! I actually stopped reading because i felt quesy. Fan fiction can be great because it sometimes fills in the blanks of your favourite episodes. Theres a brilliant one called Pleasantly Numb which is done during I will Remember and one called Chosen, obviously set during Chosen. But one of the best i've ever read had Spike being done over by the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy team. Bloody hilarious.

people can't seem to be able to rate fanfiction correctly. If you are just reading a nice story rated PG or M suddenly all this porn like jumps out at you. It is really quite scary...

It's not that they don't rate it properly. The problem is that they do no understand the ratings system. They probably think that PG is the internet shortened word for PornoGraphic. ;D

The best Harry Potter fanfic I have ever read is without a doubt Cassandra Claire's Draco Trilogy. (Draco Dormiens, Draco Sinister and Draco Veritas). So good.

Hm..well, the escapades of Harry and Draco. (from the site...) Draco Dormiens: (complete) When an accident in Potions class turns Harry into Draco and Draco into Harry, each is trapped playing the part of the other. Romance, mistaken identities, Really Cunning Plans, evil bake sales, a love triangle, and snogs galore. Draco Sinister: (complete) When Hermione is kidnapped, Harry and Draco must team up to rescue her from a thousand-year-old evil that threatens the entire wizarding world. Cursed demon swords, love potions, time travel, dementors, flying dragons, Draco wears leather, and everybody dies at least once. Except when they don't. Draco Veritas: (incomplete) The sequel to Draco Sinister, featuring winter at Hogwarts, snogging, Quidditch, mysterious things and Rhysenn Malfoy. Can be found at: www.schnoogle.com/authorLinks/Cassandra_Claire/Cassandra Claire's livejournal: www.livejournal.com/users/epicyclical/So..yeah. Been a while since I've read 'em. CC's a Buffy fan- particuarly of Spike. She'll often quote Buffy actually.

That trilogy is the one with Draco and Hermione making out in closet after getting drunk from butterbeer right? Cause that was hilarious...

The best Harry Potter fanfic I have ever read is without a doubt Cassandra Claire's Draco Trilogy. (Draco Dormiens, Draco Sinister and Draco Veritas). So good. Gosh, I so wouldn't say that now! They're okay, but I have read some really great ones, especially after HBP. What a difference two years makes. CC actually plagiarized a whole bunch of the stuff in her fics.

Plagiarised parts or not, it was still her own story And still very good, though it is still unfinished I think

CC is one of my hero's in fandom, actually. I don't think I could ever do what she did.
But if you guys think Snape/Hermione is gross, you should read the huge amounts of Snape/Harry in the world. It's pratically the biggest ship in that fandom.

So far, I haven't read any really great fanfics. But then again, I don't read that many fanfcis. Though I really like Alex's season 8 of Buffy and season 6 of Angel in BWF. Heather's Chosen in BWF is also pretty good as well. Oh, and there's also Asta. ;D I have read a quite a number of disturbing slash fics. My, the imagination from these writers are amazing!

I love fan fiction. I read it all the time. Most are shippy.
If you're into Harry Potter I suggest you check out The World Without Me by Eternal Cosmos. It's incomplete at the moment, but not abadoned. I really enjoy it. Melindaleo writes some great stuff too. Ruskbyte is, I think, fantastic. In particular the triology of The Order of the Phoenix, The Well of Shadows and The Shattering of Souls. They do contain couples, but aren't overly shippy.
As for Jossverse...well everything I read is Buffy/Angel. Though, if you like that...check out the Something Old series by Ducks and The End of Days trilogy by Maquis Leader. Actually anything from either of them would be great, but those are my favorites
