Coke Light is, IIRC, the European (well at least in France) is basically the same as Diet Coke, I think there might be a different chemical in it though. Coke Zero is a sugar-free version of normal Coke, whereas Diet Coke is a completely different recipe.

Gotcha. Not that I'd remember it but at least I know there is a difference.

I thought that when I originally tried Coke Zero, but I quickly got used to it, and now prefer it to regular Coke. Now, whenever I drink the fullstrength stuff, I'm shocked by the sweetness.

I don't think they even try and pretend Coke Zero tastes the same as Coke. I'm pretty sure they'd have a ton of disappointed people if they attempted that (even though I do prefer Zero, personally).

LOL well I think it's supposed to be just like Coke? I dunno. I drink it sometimes, I think it tastes flatter than Diet Coke though. Oh my gosh, Liz, how can you say that?! I prefer Coke Zero now Coke zero is not basically coke . Thats like saying Pepsi Max is basically Pepsi! . I think Coke tastes great as it is don't mess with a great invention please I prefer Coke Zero, and I agree they don't taste the same! Coke's website says: Coca-Cola Zero: Coca-Cola Zero offers Coca-Cola taste with zero calories. Created with young adults in mind, this soft drink is sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium (Ace K)So that's weird that it doesn't really taste like original Coke! Odd.
