I don't eat a lot of soup but I like the vegetable ones or the potato and leek ones best.

I think I like just about any kind of soup, except pumpkin soup, eww. I would say chicken, minestrone, potato and leek or mum's soup with lamb shanks are my favourites though.

I like soup as an entree, otherwise I only eat it when I am sick. It lacks in sustenance

I love soup! My most favourite soup is Boudin Bakery's clam chowder in a sour dough bread bowl. OMG. Worth the trip to SF.

I like soup but I agree with Yoshie, it is an entree. Usually only have it if someone else makes it for me but I will try most kinds as long as they don't have mushrooms in them.

Both of your statements confused me because here the entree is the main course. I can eat it as a main course when I'm sick, but I agree it's good for just an appetizer. I need more food than some soup. I'll eat most any kinds, too. Chicken noodle or chicken and rice is my favorite. I like tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Do you guys eat tinned soup, or freshly made? I love home made soup but tinned soup is good for lunch (with toast, depending on what kind of soup it is). Having Chunky soup for lunch is plenty for me until dinner time. Watery soups like minestrone need toast

I eat canned soup mostly or whatever they serve at restaurants. I would make a disgusting soup if I tried. But I like the canned stuff just fine.

No soup that comes out of a can or packet I'm fussy about types of soup too. I'll try most (that don't contain mushrooms, peas or beans etc) but the only type I'd say I really, really liked was pumpkin.

US - Appetizer, entree, dessert Australia - Entree, main, dessert I remember arguing with my brother about it when we were in LV - he didn't believe me that an entree in the US is the main! I don't mind some tinned soups, but I definitely prefer home-made. I'm not a fan of tomato soup, it tastes like hot tomato sauce!

I like tomato soup with grilled cheese. That was a favorite lunch of mine my freshman year of college. Otherwise, I like potato soup and broccoli and cheddar the best.

Tomato soup and Grilled Cheese seems really popular here, I get offered it alot and the combination still seems rather odd to me I think it's a great lunch for cold days. Nice and toasty and warm. The thin tomato soups are bleh, but the thicker toamto soups, especially if they're homemade and some spices are added, can be pretty tasty, especially if you pair it with a sandwich. At least, that's what I think. But I only eat tomato soup with grilled cheese, and I dunk the sandwich in it, so that affects the taste, of course.
