I'm thinking of watching it tomorrow. I really cannot wait till Monday! A friend of mine, who is a true blue Batman was quite disappointed with the movie. Shocking!

He hasn't no. I can think of some reasons a hardcore fanboi might not be stoked but I'm not one of them and I was thoroughly entertained. I especially thought Anne killed it. Talk about a dream role. Lucky, lucky girl. And she looks wicked in that suit.

Moved the last few posts as requested, they were more about the shooting than the movie. Lets keep this one lighter and continue the other discussion [url=http://www.kacks.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=deb&action=display&thread=1270&page=3[/url]

Question: Is John Blake modeled after Tim Drake in the comics? I don't think Blake is a character from the comic and it's confusing me. l I hate that his real name was Robin. My only disappointment about the film I think. LH Edit: Because Irene spoiled something that not every person will guess. Most yes, not all

Why would that disappoint you? I thought that part was awesome! Saw it. Loved it. Want to see it again. BUT I wish we could have seen more than 10 sec. of Hardy's face. Oh, and I loved seeing Daniel Sunjata in it for a few minutes!

Yeah, it made me grin like a dickhead I too wanted to see some more Hardy. I thought he was really excellent as Bane. He had the toughest of acts to follow with Heath's Joker, and he held his own nicely.

Disappointment because Robin's real name is never Robin! They can't mess with the comics mythos like that. Also, why spoiler tags? Didn't Beck said it's wasn't necessary? I think it goes for any movie thread that once it is released you can talk about it freely.

It was a moment that made me smile when it went down, and if i had of read it before i saw the movie i would have been pissed off because it would have been ruined. Not everyone can get to a movie on the first day like i generally do so i am mindful of that when talking about a film i have seen. Its a simple courtesy. On the film folder at work there is a two week from release rule and that works well and saves people getting upset. I don't think you can say just don't read the thread if you don't want to know. Opinions and thoughts should be shared around, just don't ruin things for people

I read in the IMDb FAQ that he was modeled after three different characters. Just to be safe, they're in spoilers Nolan took aspects from Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake to create Robin John Blake: (1) Dick Grayson - a morally righteous orphan, much like Bruce, and additionally became a police officer (2) Jason Todd - his anger issues are much like Blake's tendency to hide his anger and desire to lash out behind a smile, and (3) Tim Drake - much like Blake, Tim becomes Robin by figuring out Batman's identity, which is probably the strongest resemblance to the character. So that may explain it, Irene. I don't think it's important for movies to stick exactly to the mythology, especially when there are so many ways to go about it because of how many Batman comics there are. It would be hard to keep everything the same. And using a real comic name would ruin the "surprise".

Saw this again IMAX style. Loved it the second time around. Though you know what would have been an epic ending? When Alfred spots Bruce in that cafe and gives his smile/nod and the movie ends there, with us not seeing Bruce. That would have been such a Nolan thing to do.

I actually thought that was going to happen and was getting a little angry when they weren't zooming away from Alfred. But they did and so I was happy.
