I think Snow white told the huntsman the queen hated her because she took away the queens love didn't she? Or she said she took something very important from her.

It was mentioned by both that because of a secret Snow White didn't keep, the Queen can never have true love. Could mean that her true love was killed or something else, I am wondering if it has something to do with why the Queen collects hearts.

This show seriously gets better and better. Ep 18 - Wow. What happened with Snow and Regina is kind of what I expected but I think Regina should be blaming her mother, not Snow! Though it is likely Regina killed her mother and stole her magic sometime after what was shown in this ep. Disappointed more wasn't shown about Emma's believing in the fairy tales, very obvious August knows about them. I really would like to know who he is the theories I have heard are still the Pinocchio one, Henry as an adult (this one is crap I think), a Brother Grimm or Baelfire (Rumplestiltskin's son). I still lean towards it being Pinocchio but who knows, I think we will find out next ep since it says in the guide "Mr Gold tries to expose August's identity" and the episode is about what happened to Baelfire... hmm. Kathryn being back was unexpected. Especially since they had DNA tests run on the heart... though that could have been faked by Regina. Or Regina did take Kathryn's heart and that didn't kill her like with the Huntsman. I think it is Rumplestitskin who brought her back though. Not happy we have to wait 3 weeks to see the next one

I am really hoping he is Grimm. Well, one of them I will be disappointed if he isn't.

I don't think he is, I saw the preview for next ep which looks to be very much about August and Mr Gold, August has the Rumplestilskin dagger. Curious.
I have to say the casting in this show is perfect. Emma looks like she could be Snow's daughter and the young Snow looked like she was the younger version of Ginnifer Goodwin, even down to the mannerisms. The make up to make Regina look young was excellent and Cora looked enough like her to be a realistic mother.

Ya, I saw the preview after last Sunday's episode and Gold told Regina "He is here to kill me" . I love how mysterious August is! I thought it was hilarious that someone graffiti-ed the Toll bridge with an 'R' to say 'tRoll bridge' Genious HAHA I agree Beck, first thing Steven said was 'Wow, she looks like Snow' They really thought carefully about the casting, I am pretty impressed still I think this is a series that I need on DVD.

August might be trying to break the curse... if he takes Rumplestiltskin's life with that dagger he takes in his powers. Or he might be power hungry I know we should be supporting the "good" guy here but I am supporting Mr Gold

Gold can't die he is such a twisted bad guy you can't help but love him! I enjoyed the flashback of Gold telling Regina how she could set up Snow. I assume he was setting up Regina though? I don't remember if that was mentioned?

Gold has his own agenda I think, that doesn't necessarily go along with anyone. Fairytale version was very interested in bottling True Love, and told Snow and Charming he is invested in their future... he also seems able to predict things in the future so I think the whole curse was his plan. He made the curse, he wouldn't have done so without a reason. With the Kathryn thing he was definitely setting up Regina imo, otherwise he wouldn't have brought Kathryn back. But who knows... I do know when he finds out about Belle Regina better watch out!

Does anyone think Daniel looks a little like Alexis Denisof? I watched the ep halfway and I fell asleep. Long day yesterday. Will try to finish it tonight if OTH doesn't get to me first.

This ep bugged me. It was harsh of Regina to blame Snow for what happened. She knew that her mother set her up so why not go after her? She might have done so later on but I don't understand why she would blame a kid and want her dead! And another thing, if she really hated Snow that much and wanted her dead, why not kill her when she was a helpless, defendless child? Why wait years later and go through all that trouble with the curse? The apple she used on Snow would have been more affected if she used it on Kid!Snow when there was no true love kiss to wake her up! So I'm thinking there's more to it than this. I am hoping there is or I'll be really disappointed with this story. I was always under the impression that she married King Leopold because she was power hungry and wanted to rule the kingdom for herself. Maybe Snow got wind of this and tried to stop her. That's why Regina wanted Snow dead. Disappointed to learn that's not the case. My theory would have been a lot more interesting that the actual story, me thinks.

I agree, I thought it was harsh but then again she was being raised by an Evil witch, I thought young Regina was quite lovely and didn't think it was believable that she would be so easily lured to the dark side. She didn't kill her as a kid because it is based on fairytales, they can't rewrite them completely. Plus, did Regina even have access to poison apples when Snow was a kid? because I don't remember lol. I read a theory that August was Robin Hood? and that he was actually in the woods (Like Robin hood does) and that is why no one has seen him. I thought I remembered seeing him drive PAST the sign to the town though? showing he actually came in from outside, thoughts? I know people think Pinnochio because he keeps hiding his leg and he could have been made from the same wood as the chest that sent Emma back. The worst theory is he is older Henry! LOL. Eww. I don't want August to be Pinocchio but it seems like he might be, especially because he would have grown up. That would mean he could have a happy ending with Emma .

With Regina it was the betrayal of the secret why she hates Snow. Whether it makes sense or not, Regina was a woman who lost everything that day, because that secret was betrayed. Yes Snow was a child, yes she was tricked. How rational would you be if your one true love was killed in front of you? It was probably easier for her to blame her than to blame her mother - who I assume she killed and took her power, getting that revenge. Regina doesn't want Snow dead - she wants her to suffer. She wants her to know what it is like to live without her one true love. In fairy tale land that is the greatest magic of all remember - more important than anything else.

She didn't kill her as a kid because it is based on fairytales, they can't rewrite them completely. Plus, did Regina even have access to poison apples when Snow was a kid? because I don't remember lol. But they rewrote Beauty & The Beast completely so I don't believe they wouldn't rewrite this. Doesn't matter if it was the apple or not - that was just an example. I don't understand why she had to wait till Snow was grown up to take revenge. If it was all about taking her true love away and making her suffer, can't she not do it when Snow was young? Put a spell on her then that she will never find true love, have her locked up. I just want to know if there was a reason why Regina waited that long to make her suffer. My theory that August is all three - Grimm, Pinocchio and the boy who found Emma when she was a baby. Being Pinocchio made out of that special wood, he knew all about the curse and who Emma was and so he wrote the book. He probably passed the book to Henry 'cause he knows that Henry is the only one who is able to bring Emma to Storeybrooke. I hate the idea of August being adult Henry as that would mean that time travel is possible in their reality and that's tacky. We might be able to eliminate August being Rumple's son after the next episode. Btw, the next ep is on the 22nd. Didn't someone mention it was moving to Thurs?

I don't think August is adult Henry, he flirts with Emma so for me that theory makes zero sense.

ABC has released the official synopsis for Once Upon A Time, “The Stranger”. Emma and August work together to defeat Regina. * August tells Emma how to beat Regina and how she can get custody of Henry, while Regina hatches a plot to seduce David now that Mary Margaret is back at work. * In the fairy-tale world, a plan to save Snow White and Prince Charming’s daughter unfolds and is agreed to by Geppetto, who has his own child’s safety in mind. www.tvovermind.com/once-upon-a-time-abc/once-upon-a-time-spoilers-episode-20-the-stranger#Well... looking more and more like pinocchio is who August is. I have no doubt at all he is the 7 year old boy who found Emma as a baby but I am kinda hoping the pinocchio bit isn't true. It would make sense but.... eh. I don't even know why I'd be against it Irene they didn't re-write Beauty and the Beast at all. Some parts are slightly different but it is essentially the same story, just with Rumplestitskin as the Beast and no happy ever after... yet. As to why Regina waited, she had Snow banished and set people after her as soon as the King was dead. She waited for the opportunity to be rid of the King in a way that wouldn't get her blamed so that she could remain Queen.

I like the idea of him being Pinnochio. Irene they didn't re-write Beauty and the Beast at all. Some parts are slightly different but it is essentially the same story, just with Rumplestitskin as the Beast and no happy ever after... yet. Sorry, I call that a rewrite. I absolutely dislike the idea of Rumple and the Beast being the same person. That's like saying Batman and Superman are one and the same!
