I know I'm so late to posting about this since the finale of season 1 just aired. Has anyone else watched this at all with Matthew Mcconaughey and Woody Harrelson? The first season was amazing. I have no doubt MM will be nominated and most likely win an Emmy. It's such a creepy show but very well done. The fact that it was only 8 episodes and spanned over a long period of time kind of rushed some things, but overall, awesome.

I watched the first ep, thought it was a cracker and decided I was going to IQ (record) them and watch them all together. It was the plan for today but I never got round to it. The weekend it is!!

Finished it! f**king amazing. Great story, brilliantly created atmosphere, fabulous sets and locations, perfect music and far out, the performances. I would hope both MM and WH score noms. Both of them are without peer from what I've seen this season. Matthew is seriously flawless. What a couple of years he's had. You know what, give a nom to Michelle too. She was damn good as well. Loved it. Going to pass it on to Tuzz and my dad. Both of them will love it. Might suggest Shaun gives it a whirl too.

Yayyy!! Glad you watched it! There's one scene in the finale that I know MM will be nominated for. I'm sure you can guess which one. Everyone was superb in that show, for sure.

About his daughter?? I said to myself, "For your consideration" reel right there!! I've watched the long take at the end on Ep 4 three times. It's blows my mind. I cannot fathom what went into getting that!!

Have to get into this soon. Heard a lot of good things and I only realised late that they were showing it here on HBO.
Might watch this when the summer hiatus comes round and I've got nothing to watch.

Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn confirmed for season 2. Farrell is excellent, just look at him in Saving Mr Banks for a stellar performance. Vaughn is an interesting choice. Not sure how I feel about that just yet....

I just watched Saving Mr Banks a few days ago and am very happy with CF being cast. Not too excited about VV. I just can't get his hideous performance from the Psycho remake out of my brain.  |

LOVED True Detective. I was disappointed that McConaughey and Woody were not gonna be in the second season. I would've liked to've seen them move on to the next case together. Loved McConaughey's darkness, the way he looked out the window in the car saying, "I don't like this place. Everything grows in the wrong direction."
But hearing Vince and Colin are on the next season sounds good. I don't remember Vince Vaughn in Psycho but I like him, his characters are usually funny. Although for this show, I'd prefer him not to be funny. I like the sinister darkness of this show.
