Mine was fantastic Mr Fox but Roald Dahl

I love Roald Dahl! LOVED The Twits!
I was also a big fan of RL Stine books, the Sweet Valley High and Uni series, and when I was really young The Babysitters Club ;D

I loved the Boxcar Children and Nancy Drew books.
As far as real young kids' books I had quite a few Berenstein Bears and Clifford books.

Yeh I really liked The Twits too. I've got most of the books for Xander to read already but unfortunately he's too young
I never heard of Clifford books until I was looking at them for Xander, they are pretty cool though

I have the Little House books! I don't know that I ever read all of them, though. Might go back and do that some day.
I also have a lot of the American Girl books--all of Samantha's and I'm not sure how many on the other girls. I know I don't have some of the newer ones, like Josefina.

I can't believe I didn't post in here. Anything by Judy Blume I loved. Especially 'Are You There God, It's Me Margaret" and "Deenie". And most Nancy Drew books I loved.

Yep that was a good one. But 'Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing' was better.

Hmm.....when I was REALLY little...I liked "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" It's about a town where instead of rain and snow and things, they get their food from the sky. It's really cute, even today.
But I was also really into goosebumps and fearstreet...
But my favorite book from childhood was Watership Down. I read it in...I think it was the fifth grade...maybe sixth. It's still one of my favorite books.

I adored Roald Dahl as a child. What was the one about the horrible grandmother and the mischevious grandchild? George\'s Marvellous Medicine? I remember begging and begging every week we went shopping into WHSmith to buy that book! I was disappointed when they finally had it in stock. Roald Dahl certainly does bring back a lot of childhood memories.

George's Marvellous Medicine is a little overrated I think but it does have some really fun sections. I love Matilda too and even the movie is fantastic!
Have your read any of Roald Dahl's autobiography's? He really had a fantastic and interesting life, you can see where he gets the inspiration for his books

Yes, I have! I have read \'Boy\', it was amazing! He certainly was a troublemaker, LOL. I think he IS George (George\'s Marvelous Medicine) in many ways. There is also \'Going Solo\'. Both equally fantastic, but I preferred \'Boy\', mainly due to the hilarious anecdotes.

yeh going solo was ok but I much preferred Boy, that was definately one book I was glad we were made to read in school! I think one of my favorite anecdotes is from when he was a school boy and they used to go to the sweet shop and the old lady would be mean to him and his friends so one day they hid a rat in a swwet jar, the old lady freaked when she found it!

Yes! I remember that! LOL. Boy is definately amazing. Also, his tales of school, such as getting the cane afterwards were great!
