Does anyone like to read any type of biography? Which one has been your favorite? Or who has had the most interesting life?
Mostly I've just read them for school, but I've found some pretty interesting. I read JRR Tolkien's right after I discovered the wonders of LotR. It was interesting for me to see how much of his life experiences have translated into his stories.

I find autobiographies interesting, though not so much simple biographies. If authorised, you don't know how candid they'll be, and if unauthorised, they can simply be sensationalised. To a degree, autobiographies can have the same problem as authorised biographies, but at least you tend to get the author's thoughts about the events, etc.
Obviously, autobiographies aren't always possible when the subject has passed away, and some historical biographies are well worth reading.

When I'm interested in the person I like reading the biographies. Most recently I read the one about Geri Halliwell (ginger spice of the spice girls, if anyone got confused) and I found it very interesting and well written. I can definitly recommend it!
Usually I have a tendency to run away from biographies because some of them tend to become very boring but some can be interesting, like the one I mentioned above.

I don't really read biographies. I just find the thought of reading someone's life pretty boring - unless that someone is someone I admire/like/interested in knowing about.
The only biography I've read is David Beckham's (his first one). I was a huge fan of him so I bought it. Haven't gotten the second one though.

David Beckham can read and write? I love bios. They are up there with my favourite reads. I've read a lot of ones about musicians/actors/sportspersons (Steve Waugh, Michael Hutchence, Michael J Fox and Alan Alda's being my favourites so far), a lot about people involved in WWII (which i find fascinating) and some other interesting ones like Bill Clinton and Nelson Mandela.

I'm not sure whether Beckham penned his own biography so I can't say whether he can write. I'm thinking of getting Wayne Rooney's biography. Football players have really interesting stories to tell, in my opinion. Oh! Another biography I've read is of the Backstreet Boys. I read it when I was really, really young.
