Nice lol the most boring word to describe something (i get called that a lot ) And thats just what Tara/Willow was. You may not like the sappiness and cornyness of Buffy/Angel but DB and SMG had so much chemistry together.

I found Tillow to be a very blah relationship. Tara was Willow's little sheep :dunno:

No, not really. Did they bore you? Yes. Tara was the most boring, bland character Joss Whedon managed to create. And that boredom spread to her relationship too.

Glenn, you don't think Willow and Tara had chemistry? Or you don't think the actors did?

Both would be the simple answer.

I think Tara was meant to represent what Willow was once upon a time (ie season one), but she was void of Willow's personality. I think the relationship had the occasional sweet moment, but for the most part was boring.
Willow and Tara weren't great for each other - as Glenn said, Willow screwing with Tara's memories is not a healthy thing to do to someone; and as everyone else has been pointing out, Tara leaving Willow was abandonment. But that has all been discussed elsewhere...

Yeah, what Willow did was definitely wrong, but what about when they got back together in the 6th season? Don't you think that could have been a start to a healthier relationship?...if Tara hadn't died.

I don't. Tara left her once when the going got rough, she would probably do it again :dunno:

Maybe, but she also left because Willow had lied to her, cast a spell on her, and got addicted to magic. I don't think Tara realized it would have gotten worse after she left, but I believe she saw that after she did leave. I think if they had a proper second try, Tara would have stuck around even when things got tough.

But the fact is that Tara left Willow when things got difficult. Willow wasn't in the right by any stretch of the imagination, but it came down to her having problems with magic. Tara left when things got difficult, leaving Willow when she needed her most.
Then she comes back into Willow's life when everything's easier. If that were to happen again, I'm not at all convinced Tara would have stayed.

Wow, that's true. What does that say about Tara? She's gets afraid and runs when things get tough?
I never thought about her like that before.

That's basically what it boiled down to for me, Laura. It was a case of you took your love away, too fast, left no chance to say look back...

That really suprised me, I admired Tara when she told Willow she was using to much magick, but my opinions of her dropped when she walked out on Willow, and came back when everything was rosey.

Yeah, that's true . Although, she did stay after the first time Willow wiped her memory. That was a very hard time for everyone, since they found out Buffy had been in heaven. I assume she stayed because Willow was upset...? However, things were tough then. Can she only deal with one rough patch?

I think it was out of compassion, but there relationship was pretty much doomed, even after that, at the beginning of tabula rasa Tara was still *Off* with willow. Strange how she stuck around after that, but Left after the tabula rasa incident,

Yeah, I guess she wanted to be there for Buffy too, since they had become better friends. Plus, maybe she wanted to make sure Willow was okay.
However, after Willow made everyone forget I guess she finally decided it was time to leave. I don't agree with what she did, but I see why she did it.

The thing is, Tara leaving made Willow spiral completely out of control. I understand Tara being hurt by Willow's actions, who wouldn't be, but Tara knew there was a magic problem and I believe her leaving was the worst mistake she made. She should have stuck with her to help. I think she tried to stay and help, but then when her first attempt didn't work, she abandoned Willow She didn't mention the magic abuse before that point, she waited until it got really bad before trying to talk to Willow about it - and she didn't talk to Willow's friends about it either. As someone who knows a fair bit about Magicks, she should have been much more against Buffy's resurrection imo

I have to disagree with you there, Beck (a lot later, I might add). You could say that Tara left her when Willow needed her most, but didn't Giles do the same thing to Buffy in season six? I think Tara thought that the magic addiction was something Willow had to beat on her own, not because she wanted Tara to stay.

Giles leaving Buffy was a completely different situation. For better or worse, he left Buffy because he felt that he was coddling her, and hampering her ability to reach her full potential as a Slayer.
As for Tara and Willow, when somebody has an addiction, they need support to get through it. Abandoning them is never going to help, it is only going to make the situation worse.

It's not always that easy. Even if Tara was still with Willow, you honestly believe she wouldn't have eventually gone overboard? And if that's what you believe, that's not fair to Tara because that shouldn't be her responsibility. She gave Willow chances and told her that she needed to stop abusing her magics, Willow wouldn't listen. Tara left. It's not her fault the situation got worse.
