A lot of people seem to think that Buffy got worse after highschool, and particularly after Buffy's death in The Gift. what are everyone's opinions on this?
I personally loved both the early years and the later years. I never felt BtVS deteriorated as the years went on. Season 6 is one of my favourite seasons. A lot of people seem to feel that it was too dark, and the characters were taken to bad places. I think it was necessary for those characters to be taken on a darker path, so that never bothered me.

well I guess you would say I liked the early years better because I wasn't a big fan of season 7, 5 or 4... Seasons 2 and 3 were my favourite by miles. Then is 6 but I don't know why. But generally, I say yeah, the early ones were better...
yeah I didn't really have a reason in there did I....

I don't think Buffy deteriorated at all. I loved all seven years. As far as ranking the seasons i'd probably say: 2, 6, 5-3, 7, 4, 1..... So yeah fairly mixed up between the high school years and the 'adult' years. I don't think season 6 was too dark at all, i bloody loved it. Although how much of that was based on the fact there was lots of Spike sex is a valid question . On the weeked i was speaking to someone who had only recently got into Buffy. Over the past couple of months he had watched from season one straight through to seven and he said while he was watching season six all he could think of was 'What the f*#k is going on here'. He reckons it spun him out how different it was to the previous seasons. He also couldn't fathom how Buffy could ever screw Spike. I sat him down and gave him a good twenty minute lecture on that!

Agreed! I really don't know how she resisted for so damn long. I read this line in a fan fic once that was Buffy's thoughts the first time she ever saw Spike- "Oh my god its the hottest guy i've ever seen, oh f*#k he's a vampire". I always like to think that was true....

yes I'm of the opinion that would be true. the girl does have eyes. there were sparks between them right from the beginning imho. and in Lover's Walk she practically straddles him smart buffy.

I think all seasons were great but if I had to put them in order it'd go like this: 3,2,7,5,6,4-1 I didn't dislike season 4 or 1 its just that the other seasons were of such high quality theres was nowhere else for them to be but last.
Each season had a few duffs in it though-'Lie to me', 'reptile boy', 'I robot, you jane', 'doublemeat Palace', 'beer bad' ect.
All that gets cancelled out by eps like- 'Becoming', 'Graduation day', 'Bad Girls', 'once more with feeling', 'the body', 'Prophecy girl', 'normal again', 'Him', 'showtime'- i could go forever, but I won't

Really? It never even crossed my mind that Normal Again was considered a good episode. It just seemed mediocre to me. Nothing special...

Most Buffy fans I know tend to think very highly of Normal Again. And it was a great episode imho.

I actually really like Normal Again. Very different to the other episodes.
My favorite season is 3, mainly because of Faith. I think I prefer the earlier seasons but I definately don't hate the later ones.

yep 'normal again' was way better than 'lie to me'. lie to me was boring whereas normal again made you think that the whole show was just a dillusion-way more entertaining.

Lie to me was way more interesting for me. Also, it was in season 2 which automatically makes it seem better than an ep in season 6 to me....
