Its often sighted as the best season of Buffy and is personnally my favortie but do we all agree?
What did we love about the season? What did we hate? could it have been improved?
Personally it hard the right balance of everything.
It had relationships glore and dealt with a lot of different issues. Buffy and Angel, Buffy and Giles father/daughter, Willow and Oz were the high school sweethearts, Cordy and Xander had the huge messy beak up.
It had some wonderful acting and writting. Faith is one of my characters and I love Eliza as an actress; the interplay between Buffy and Faith forcing Buffy into murky territory was fantastic in my opinion.
Evertime I try to think of an episode that I didn't enjoy and that I don't particularly wish to see again but there never is one. Every single episode has its own merits unlike all the other seasons that have one or two stinkers

I loved season 3, but I don't know if it was my favorite. I can't ever really classify one season as my favorite, since I loved them all.
But anyway, I did love this season, because it was filled with twists including Faith, Angel, and the Xander/Willow ship. I thought Buffy was a bit out of character in "Bad Girls", but I did love the fact that although Faith turned evil, Buffy remained good. It really showed Buffy's devotion to being a Slayer. This was also shown in "Helpess." I feel like this was the season where Buffy really realized it was her duty (after killing Angel).

Yes i love season 3 because of all the aforementioned reasons. Most of the characters were really hitting their peak in this season. Willow and Xander i believe were never quite as good after season 3 and parts of 4. The Buffy/Angel ship was also something that i really liked and was interesting because you kind of knew deep down it couldn't work out. Faith and Mr Trick were enjoyable to watch. The Mayor must have been the most likable bad guys ever There were definitely some episodes that are rather forgettable like "Dead Mans Party" and "Gingerbread" but in all in all it was a solid season.

I love it, My favourite season, in my opinion the best storyline, Loving Faiths appearance in it, and her transition to the dark side, a rogue slayer, absolutely Fantastic. The overall feeling to, buffy was used to the school and her surroundings, the end of her high school experience, I love the Prom , I love when she gets her award, she is so taken aback, The mayors Love for Faith, The look on Giles face when Willow gave him the pages she stole from the mayors book, and the introduction of Wesley, his attraction to cordy and the kiss, that was so cheesy

Ah, yes, the Prom was unforgetable. I loved how she got the Class Protector award. She was finally semi-awarded for what she did. That was touching . I also loved when Xander paid for Cordy's dress. It was really good that they ended on good terms. Then in the end, when Buffy and Angel danced for the last time...the episode just made me feel warm and fuzzy .

All very good points.
I love season three, and I always struggle over whether it, or season 2, is my favourite - both seasons are simply amazing.
Faith's rise and fall, was amazing, and the Mayor was a brilliant villain. The season was full of classic moments.

I thought the story was good but it's not my favorite. I don't enjoy Faith like many fans, so it affected the season for me. I liked season 2 and season 6 more. I'm more interested in BtVS when it's Buffy-Xander-Willow centric.

I'm more interested in BtVS when it's Buffy-Xander-Willow centric. Well, the Graduation episodes were mostly centered around the Scoobies, besides the parts with Faith. There was also a lot of focus on Xander and Willow when they had their little ship, if you could call it that.

The Mayor must have been the most likable bad guys ever You mean besides Angelus of course, Glenn? I love Season 3 too, like Allan I have a hard time deciding if that's my favorite or if Season 2 is There were definitly many brillant plot points...Faith, Angel coming back from Hell as a mindless creature, The Mayor, Buffy/Angel tension, Willow and Oz...I could go on The only episode that isn't up to par is Dead Man's Party. Though Gingerbread isn't my favorite episode I don't think it's that bad. Season 3 also has some of my favorite episodes...The Prom most notably.

I think Angelus and The mayor were likable in different ways, I loved Angelus, but I didnt Like him, I liked the Mayor, especially his fathers love for Faith, him treating her like his little Girl.
I think Faith was a definite strong point for me, and *bad girls* showing Us buffy's more rebellious side, of course she was always a little rebellious, but she was never that at ease .
The whole storyline of Faith killing a Human, and Buffy Witnessing it, something we hadnt experienced, the protocols for a slayer killing a Human Being.

Dead Mans Party is LAME. Anyhow. Bernie is currently watching Season 3 with me, we watched Doplegangland and Enemies last night. Doppelgangland Bernie laughed all the way through, so he's actually really enjoying it yay I think Season 3 kicks up another notch once we get Bad Girls and Faith's turning. I love it all before that, but thats the point in my opinion where it wins best season for me. I love the Mayor/Faith combo, I love the development and growth of Giles and his interaction with Wesley. I love the scoobies together, and the season is so strong to me it even overcomes my distaste of Bangel, which I don't mind in some episodes.

Does a lot of people not like that episode? I enjoyed it . I liked how everyone had to fight off the zombies at the house, but I did not like how Buffy was going to run again . Although, the episode was really needed for Buffy to realize she had to stay in Sunnydale and get through things with her friends. Xander and her really went at it, though. I thought it was a good near beginning episode in the season. It was needed too, as I said.

I liked season 3 a lot, but season 2 is my all-time favorite. Faith turning evil was quite a cool twist. I also liked a lot of the episodes, including Beauty and the Beasts, Graduation Day 1 and 2, and Dopplegangland. The Prom and Homecoming are also really good. I liked The Wish, but it was so dark! I didn't like Oz killing Willow, Buffy walking through Angel's dust, or BUffy dying! It makes me really sad. Also, I didn't like Willow and Xander cheating on Oz and Cordelia.

The impact of Buffy leaving needed to be addressed, but the episode was just poor, IMO.

Do you know what? Season 3 is probably my second favourite but it is perhaps the most solid season. There were only a couple of weak eps (as mentioned DMP and Gingerbread) but the rest rest were pretty good. The Faith storyline really impressed me, polarising the different elements of Slayerdom and attitudes towards being a slayer leading Faith to become an interesting human villain. To me the Mayor is perhaps one of my favourite villains. He really made being evil look so fun and his interaction with Faith was really important for her character arc. Dopplegangland is a classic and Choices is great because we see the beginnings of Wes' ruthless big picture thinking.
Season 3 is stronger overall than Season 2 but the impact of Season 2 has almost yet to be rivalled (although Spike/Willow's arc was close in terms of character arc impact) so overall Season 2 is my favourite but Season 3 comes a close second.

I think Faith and Buffy were more alike than they realised, Previous slayers lived alone, focussed purely on the battle, the bigger picture, kill or be killed. Both Faith and Buffy were rebels against typical slayer'ness, They had extra Crricular activities, and weather it was buffy hanging out with her friends, or Faith Partying it up, WC Would probably Frown on both, thats what I think really made me love this season. and After Faiths comment "Doesnt slaying just make you Horny and Hungry", We never saw buffy in the same light again when she ate after slaying

In some respects they were alike, though I think that Faith still - in many respects - lived the lonely life, while Buffy had a big support network. Granted Faith knew them, but she never let herself become part of the group (no matter how much she desperately wanted to be).

I dont only mean the way the live though, I mean there fighting skills, (and not Faiths enjoying it alot more than buffy) Faith was a loner, not neccesarily by choice but yeah she was different in that way, but the way they saw the watchers council, both faith and buffy relied on instinct, there fighting wasnt following any particular type of style, take buffys trouble with the watcher councils test in season five, they fought second by second, I cant remember the word Im looking for but I'll edit when I remember it lol.
