I was reading on BWF some opinions on Kendra so I thought I'd bring the question to Kax - What did you think of Kendra and the other slayers we saw little of (first slayer, nikki wood)? Would you have liked to see more of them? I liked Kendra but her accent annoyed me And I would have liked to have seen more of Nikki Wood, maybe more in flasback.

I guess I would have liked to see more of Kendra. Why not? But her accent bugged me too. I was like.. where is this girl from? But I thought her and Buffy's relationship was entertaining. I loved when they were annoyed with eachother. And I would have loved to see more of Nikki Wood. She seemed like a badass, which would have been awesome to see.

I really liked Kendra, and her accent never bothered me. (It is a real accent, by the way, just from a very obscure part of Jamaica. She worked very hard with a dialect coach on it.) I would have loved to see more of Kendra, especially since she and Buffy were slowly becoming friends and were learning a lot from each other. I liked Nikki and a few more flashbacks of her would have been nice, but I think I liked the sort of mystery that surrounded her. We weren't told how she had been able to be a slayer and have a kid, as that seems to have not happened before (that I can recall). I was actually more interested in Wood's background having been raised by a Watcher than Nikki's story. The first slayer creeped me out, so I'm glad we didn't see too much of her. She played an important part, and it was interesting trying to figure out her cryptic messages and everything, but she just creeped me out.

Kendra's accent never bothered me either and I definately would have love to have seen more of her. Buffy would have had a unique friendship with Kendra, she would have played the 'good' slayer whilst Buffy could have been given the freedom she needed. It would also have been interesting to see Kendra's development form just being around normal people, especially boys Again I could have done with more flash backs of Nikki thats why I'm excited about Kieth Decandio's new book 'Blackout' its mostly going back to new york in the 70s with Nikki playing a huge part in the story........ released in october I think The first slayer was definately creepy but well used. I dont think it would have played much of an advantage to feature her more than they did. And you all know how much I love Faith so no need to go into that

Kendra's accent was atrocious. I know she worked hard on it and all but as my boyfriend at the time said- as someone who had been on many a Caribbean cricket tour - "that is the worst attempt at a Jamaican accent i've ever been forced to listen to". He did think she was hot though Personally i found Kendra to be a bit of a really. She served her purpose in a couple of good eps but her time was done. And she was so easy to kill it was just depressing The first slayer was great. Could have handled seeing more of her. Same goes for Nikki Wood. Like Bre said she seemed like a bad ass and thats always fun to watch.

I think Kendra was what a traditional Slayer was seen to be, and her "im not familiar with boys" attitude was fantastic! I loved how she developed, and I was also bugged by her accent lol. I didnt like Nikki Wood, I think we had faith for the badass, we didnt need more, I wouldve liked to see some more wesley type humour, you know so far out of the real world everything is new. Just like high school and boys were to Kendra.

Any more opinions on the lesser seen slayers?

Yeah, I think it would have been cool to see more of Kendra. It was an interesting to have another Slayer helping Buffy- a black and white type of Slayer, not like Faith. I liked how Kendra and Buffy had started to become friends and trust each other more. So it would have been interesting to see where their friendship went. I didn't like how Kendra died so easily, though, as Loz mentioned . I also would have liked to see more of Nikki. She seemed like a cool Slayer and character, and it would have helped us learn more about Robin's past. Personally, I loved the First Slayer. All the ways she helped Buffy and warned her of danger were interesting imo, so it would have been nice to see more of her too.

I didn't like Kendra. She was too one dimensional. I like Nikki Wood though. I thought she was a more interesting character than Kendra or the First Slayer. I don't know what it was but when we first saw her in Fool for Love, something about her made me think that she might be an interesting and cool character. She certainly dressed the part. And after we learnt that she had a son during her slayer days, I wished there more of her backstory was revealed - like how she juggled her slaying duties and family, esp during the 70s. No opinion on the First Slayer. Just thought she was freaky.

I quite liked Kendra. She didn't have many episodes to her name, so if she survived, who knows where her character would have gone. I'm sure that she wouldn't have been two dimensional for long. I think the character had potential (no pun intended) for some interesting stories if she'd survived. Oh, and the accent was atrocious, so let's not go there! I liked Nikki, but that said, I'm a huge fan of anything 70s, so the trenchcoat and fro were awesome in my book. As for the First Slayer, I can't say too much against her, since I use the concept in Dominion. Definitely freaky (which is what made me want to use her), though I see her as a character that served her purpose for the story, so not much more was needed.

I'll steer clear of the accent as far as Kendra is concerned. I too thought she had potential and we got insight into her views and philosophies on being a Slayer and how it affects one's identity which is a theme continued by Faith and Buffy. I don't think she died too easily though, we shouldn't underestimate how powerful Drusilla is.
Nikki was cool and her 'work the mission' message was torturous and I really felt for both her and Robin. I still maintain that she loved her son though.

I don't think there's any doubt there re Nikki's love for Robin. She prioritised slaying over him, but I believe she still loved him dearly.

That's why I think Spike got wrong twice in LMPTM. He thought his mother didn't love him but he was wrong and he was wrong about Nikki as well imo. Maybe he just wanted to hurt Wood but either way it's harsh.

I don't think Spike thought his mother didn't love him, he felt guilt over killing her, thats what I thought his mother issues were (oh and she wanted to have sex with him). As for Nikki, yes she loved Robin - but Spike was right imo. Slaying came first to her.

I think Spike thought his mother didn't love him which is why her words hurt him but he came to the realisation that she did love him when she was alive. I still think Spike is an arse for what he said to Wood. He said that his mother didn't love him enough to quit. This is unfair and hurtful to say. She's basically saying she is bad mother but that's no different to Buffy saying she would let Dawn die, doesn't mean she doesn't love her sister but when lives are on the line what else can a Slayer do?
