I am adding Tool and the Beatles to my list. They're pretty much all I listen to lately.

Stinkfist = all time classic. Has one of the best intro's to a song ever. One of the biggest songs of my high school years One of my best mates is a hardcore Beatles girl and my mum is a big fan. But while i certainly appreciate them i don't think i'd ever say i loved them....

I'll list a few, though it's always shifting and changing... Much of this will have a bit to do with what I'm enjoying right now.
The Whitlams Machine Gun Fellatio Magic Dirt Little Birdy (and with these four, yes, I do really enjoy Aussie rock) U2 REM Tenacious D Iggy and the Stooges
There are quite a few others who escape me right now. Is this thread limited to bands, or can we name individual artists (is there a specific thread for that?), because I often prefer solo acts.

I got a few favourites at the moment - Keane, Snow Patrol, Muse and Maroon 5 (when are they going to release a second album?! : But my absolute favourite band is Coldplay. They are just one of the greatest band around at the moment in my opinion. I was lucky enough to check them in concert and they were bloody awesome!

Coldplay is awesome, and I should have thought to include them on my list. I would have loved to see them live!

Coldplay is awesome, and I should have thought to include them on my list. I would have loved to see them live! You should check them out live if you have the chance. It's worth every penny! Another band I would include in my list is Matchbox Twenty.

Oh, definitely. I dn't think they come to Australia often (let alone Canberra, but it would be worth a trip to Sydney for).
I don't mind Matchbox 20. I love a lot of their stuff, and like the rest of it.
EDIT - I'll add Garbage to my list, too. Shirley Manson's voice is amazing (she even does that "Manamana" song well live).

Maroon 5 (when are they going to release a second album?! : "According to MTV.com, Maroon 5 will release their next album sometime in spring 2007. The UK website Play.com has the CD available for pre-order, with the date of release stated as May 14, 2007." -Wiki Keane = lovely.

Let's hope they make the date! So many bands announce dates for CDs, then completely miss them. It really bugs me.

I just hope that they stick with the release date though. Keane is an awesome band. My favourite band after Coldplay. Their second album is just the best thing right now.

Hmm... Some of my favourite bands at the moment are Flyleaf, Muse, The Hush Sound, Frou Frou (even though their lead singer is now solo ), Snow Patrol, Shiny Toy Guns, Tegan and Sara, etc. ...I have a lot of favourite bands. It's hard for me to pick just a few, let alone one.

I actually started a topic about my favorite band- The Fray. I love them for many reasons. First, I love the voice of the lead singer. It's unique. (And I'm not saying that 'cause it's bad and I wanna defend him ). Also, I can connect so much to their songs...except "She Is". Plus, their songs aren't offending, they are sweet and about real issues.

Snow Patrol...end of story. This band has changed the way i think about music. I never thought songs could move me to tears or represent my feelings towards people so beautifully. Amazing singers...amazing guitars...A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!

My current "favorite" band that I've been listening to quite a bit lately is Panic! At the Disco. Definitely not stuff I'd usually listen to, but the guy has a unique voice.
4/5

My favorite band changes all the time lol. I haven't gotten sick of listening to Saosin constantly so i guess they must be my favorite band. I think the reason i like them so much is that the lead singer's voice doesn't sound like anyone elses. Plus their songs are just...WOW! The band Emery is cool too. I think there are three singers in that band, but they sound sweet. For the longest time 30 Seconds to Mars was my favorite band. That was just because i was so in love with Jared Leto lol.
