I have been looking over alot of Kax Fanfiction recently, and there a some pretty damn Talented writers on Kax and It got me to thinking, I always Struggle when people ask me what lyrics or words stand out to me, I believe they do make a song, I like music I listen to, to have lyrics that I can incorporate in my Own way, anyone can put pen to paper, but it takes something special to be able to write a Story/Song that touches people, that people can relate to, and im sure the fanfiction writers on Kax understand this, and use it to there advantage. Anyway after that whole speech , the main question, what lyrics stand out to you? I'm sure there are quite a few, any paticular lines that stand out to you?, any reason why ?

I believe that lyrics make a song, and most of my favourite music is because of the lyrics. The Whitlams and David Bowie both have amazing lyrics...
I can't think of a great deal of lyrics at the moment, but I've had the folowing Whitlams song stuck in my head for a while...
"Cries Too Hard"
Torch the moon, burn the schools She wrote in red on her bedroom wall - "Nothing's pure", the paint runs to the floor
She laughs too easily and cries too hard Shouldn't drink alone, the colours run How can she forgive When we know well what we do?

First off - lyrics to me are very important when I go out and buy an album. If I hear a song on the radio and it's catchy but with crappy lyrics that my 6 year old cousin could have wrote about her crush I won't buy the CD, but if it's catchy with awesome lyrics there's a good chance I will buy the CD. Let's see lately I've been having a Tool obsession because the music is genius but also every song has it's own story ... usually hauntingly beautiful. Lemme see if I can find an example: Tool: Wings For Marie Pt. 1
You... You believed ... You believed in movements none could see. You believed in me
A passionate spirit Uncompromised Boundless and open A light in your eyes Then immobilized.
Broken Fell at the hands of those movements that I wouldn't see Yet it was you who prayed for me. So what have I done To be a son to an angel? What have I done To be worthy?EDIT: Wow that's a lot longer than I thought it would be .... EDIT II: Deleted some of pt. 1 and all of part to to shorten it up.

Sure thing, Beck! I mentioned in another thread that my favourite U2 song is "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" (typical that the song I want to write about has an annoyingly long title ). I have a thing for songs with odd lyrics, and I love songs about living dangerously (for better or worse). My favourite verse from the song is: They want you to be Jesus They'll go down on one knee But they'll want their money back If you're alive at thirty-three And you're turning tricks With your crucifix You're a star

My favourite lyrics comes from my favourite band, Coldplay. I love their song Fix You from their lastest album. This verse from the song gets me everytime. Tears stream down your face When you lose something you cannot replace Tears stream down your face And I...
Tears stream down on your face I promise you I will learn from the mistakes Tears stream down your face And I...Awesome song!

I like in some of Led Zeppelin's songs Middle Earth lore is mentioned. Like in Ramble On it says:
T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor I met a girl so fair, But Gollum, and the evil one crept up And slipped away with her. Her, her....yea. Ain't nothing I can do, no.
and in The Battle of Evermore the song goes:
The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath, The drums will shake the castle wall, the ringwraiths ride in black, Ride on.
Anyway I heard somewhere that's where LZ got a lot of their inspiration, which I thought was really cool being a fan of both Middle Earth and Led Zeppelin.
2/5

Yep, sorry about that.
I'm really into music, but lyrics aren't as important to me as the rhythm itself. I mean there are a lot of songs that have really had an impact on me because of the lyrics, but lyrics aren't everything. Most of the time the rhythm sets the tone for the song. I know when i'm trying to write lyrics, i always have to set some sort of beat before i actually write the song. So they go hand in hand. Anyways...
This is the chorus for 'The Freshman' by The Verve Pipe. It's such a sad song.
i can't be held responsible cause she was touching her face i won't be held responsible she fell in love in the first place
for the life of me i cannot remember what made us think that we were wise and we'd never comprimise for the life of me cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins we were merely freshman
There is one line of the song 'I Never Wanted To' by Saosin that i really thought about. We are the only ones we are running from. I really like this line a lot.

Can I get you, and Allan in your first post, to just post a couple of lines of the song, as we are subject to copyright laws and reprinting whole songs to my knowledge isn't allowed
