So, as some of you guys know, I' recently saw Lion King. If you thought I was floored by Tarzan...
I cried on five occasions. And those who know me well know that is an astounding number. That's more times than I usually cry in a solid year. I cried during Circle of Life because it was that beautiful. Here, take a look at the Tony performance:
Circle of Life (the giraffes always stun me)

Sidebar: I was on the aisle where the elephant came down. Nearly cried over it all by itself.
Next, obviously, Mufasa's death. I don't have a video to show you guys on that one but trust me...heartbreaking. If you think it's bad in the movie... They do this thing, where they've go this body and are basically annointing him for death. And the lionesses are all keening over him and Rafiki sings this African chant of mourning. It was highly moving.
Then I cried during Shadowland because it was just...heartbreaking. They added a subplot of Scar attempting to make Nala his queen, which prompts her to leave her family.
Shadowland (My favorite song in the show)

Third time I cried was the song Endless Night. In the movie this part where he screams at the sky, saying "You said you'd always be there for me! But you'r not." The song was so pretty, and Simba had such an amazing voice. And just...I don't know..it's something about seeing him there, with that lion head on, and the gorgious lighting.... *sigh*
Endless Night (close second for favorite song)

And last came "He lives in You" which is where Simba sees Mufasa in the storm clouds. This video doesn't do it justice because you don't see Mufasa's face. The scene was...God. It's all swirls of stars and you can't really see much of the background. And there are these dancers moving around with huge pieces of something and you think they're just there to add texture, because the pieces are basically shapeless. And then, just all of a sudden, they all slide together, and you realize, they were like puzzle peices. They fit together and there is Mufasa's face, at least ten feet high. It owned my soul. And the song itself was so powerful you couldn't help but love it. Notice in this clip how he really moves like a lion, with the tilt of his head, and the way both he and Mufasa stand and sit.

And this last one is just for fun.
