My sister and I were once talking about song titles, and she talked about how it really bugged her when a song was titled something that was never actually said in the song (i,e. Dance Floor Anthem by Good Charlotte). She also said it bugged her when songs had a title and then something in parentheses that was never said either (i,e. I'm Not Okay (I'm Promise) by My Chemical Romance). So, what do you guys think? Do these type of things bug you too? Or did you not even think about song titles this much and think this topic is completely useless

I don't really care. But usually the title has something to do with the meaning of the song if it's not actually said.

I don't care myself, either. And I agree that song titles generally refer to the meaning of the song. Even if you can't gleam it from the lyrics, it means something to the artists. It's the same as any title, really.

It bugs me sometimes but not often. It bugs me when I have no clue how the title of the song is related to the song itself. It's usually my fault as I'm slow at times.
