Have you noticed any improvements in your writing since you started? Take a look at your first fanfic (or just plain fiction). Do you notice significant differences? I know when I first started writing fanfic/regular fiction my wording wasn't so great and my dialogue was even worse, and I (hope I ) have improved on that. My style's changed a lot, too, I think. Same goes for plot lines, how everything happens, etc. I look back at fics like "Trip to the Past" (ahahaha, the title) and laugh at it because...well, um, it's corny and there's no real reason behind what the characters are doing in general.

It's funny. I noticed my work improving when I was writing ages ago, but before Dominion, I stopped writing, and hadn't done so for years. Now I'm slowly getting into the swing of it, but it doesn't feel like it's as "good" as it once was. Maybe I'm just more critical of my work now... Who knows?

I don't know that I ever improved as I don't believe I was all that great to begin with, but when I was writing all the time (haven't written anything in a couple years) I definitely felt a flow developing, so you could say I was improving in that sense of the process. Now that I've not written for a while it's likely I'd be back at square one.
