Do any of you watch music videos? Which are your favorites/least favorites? Do the videos help you decide whether or not you like a song/artist? I love watching music videos. I haven't lately because I don't have a TV but I watch them online every once in a while. I remember the first time I watched Christina Aguilera's "Hurt" video, I cried. Not bawled, but teared up. It was sad, but now that I watch it again, I don't know why I cried. (I'm pretty sure we don't have a thread on vids already)

I used to watch rage all the time, but I don't have the time anymore. Praise You - Fat Boy Slim is good, Here It Goes Again - OK Go is cool...I'm not very good at remembering videos!

I don't watch them much these days, and the videos never influence whether I like the band. It's always about the song itself. Occasionally, I'll tune in to one of the music channels, but it's more for background music than the videos themselves. But I do like to check them out online, especially if it's a song by an artist I like. My favourite filmclip would probably be the one for "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim. It's great, especially if you're a Christopher Walken fan.

Ok Go music vids are awesome! I love watching music videos. I remember the time when MTV had music videos (and not those crap reality shows) and I would sit and watch it for hours. Because I listen to a lot of radio too, I always like to know how the song is like in a music video. It's hard to explain really.

I really like it on the occasions where, for whatever reason, a band has two of them out. Generally the videos are directed by two different people, and it's cool to see the two different interpretations on the same song.

I love any movie rip off film clip. I used to love Backstreet Boys "Backstreets Back" video and I love 30 Seconds from Mars' "Killing me" clip.

Cool I've never seen that before. Any good examples? I can think of three off the top of my head... I'm not sure if this is a good example, but the Whitlams (great Aussie band) released two versions of the video for "No Aphrodisiac". The first was made for "Triple J's Hottest 100" (Triple J's a local radio station here) when the song reached #1 for that year, without having a single made. So they quickly did one for when the Hottest 100 was aired on TV. Later, they released the single and made a new, less rushed film clip. Version 1Version 2Another example is Tori Amos' "Cornflake Girl". The original version was directed by a couple of British directors, and was considered "too weird" for US TV. It was screened in Britain and here in Australia, I'm not sure where else. Tori co-directed the US version of it with someone else. Original versionUS versionMachine Gun Fellatio (another Aussie band) made two different clips for their song "Trouble Maker" - one which was a bit more "adult", and one that was more suitable for all ages audiences. The second one was actually a bit cooler with a sense of innocence and frivolity. I'd post examples but they only have the "adult" one on YouTube. Fatboy Slim "Weapon of Choice" is definetly my favourite also, I Just love that video and could watch it over and over. I also love November Rain, I always thought that was a great Video. Agreed re November Rain. It is absolutely stunning. I love any movie rip off film clip. I used to love Backstreet Boys "Backstreets Back" video and I love 30 Seconds from Mars' "Killing me" clip. I'm not familiar with "Killing Me" but "Backstreet's Back" was kinda cool. Beatfreakz' video for their "Superfreak" cover reminds me of it (though it's a little weirder ). And the Tori Amos example for Bre reminded me of another one of her filmclips that I love - "Some Sorta Fairytale" - it's odd, and features Adrien Brody.

I find it reall cool to see actors making an appearance in videos. ;D I was quite freaked out when I saw Milo Ventimiglia from Heroes in the "Big Girls Don't Cry" clip by Fergie.

I have a few favourite videos and most of them come from bands that I'm a fan of. Ones I can remember at the moment are (of course) from Coldplay. The Scientist is really cool because of how it goes backwards and God Put A Smile Upon Your Face as it's really creepy (this being my favourite vid of all). There are some videos out there that are really boring that in turn makes the song boring as well.

I totally agree with the 30 Seconds to Mars videos. They are amazing both "The Kill" and "From Yesterday". "Lightening Crashes" is really sad though, but it's a really good video. This video is so sweet. It makes me all teary eyed lol. Probably becasue i'm a total sap, but anyways it's the song All the Same by Sick Puppies. youtube.com/watch?v=PpzkHhgcZG4This video is very good and i think it shows what the world used to be like and how it affects the world now and what could happen in the future. It's kinda sad, but so true. And seriously the video fits the song so well. The song is Imagine by A Perfect Circle youtube.com/watch?v=jpqKA9_ddFk

"Imagine" isn't a bad cover at all, and the film clip does stir up an interesting mix of imagery. In a similar vein, I love the clip for "Peace is Our Profession" by Lazlo Bane. It also has a great Dr Strangelove vibe to it.

I saw this film clip today for "Toe Jam" by BPA. Be warned, it contains some censored out nudity (but it's all about those black bars). Funny (and clever) stuff.

I love that vid. The song is annoying but I thought it was really clever. Has anyone seen the parody of Beyonce's Single Ladies video? Justin Timberlake is in it and it's hilarious! www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5qx-MVrXfk

why is it when any show has a "top 100 video clip" segment, Thriller always wins?
there's so many so I can't think, but I like 30 Seconds to Mars (The Kill). I'll think of more later.
