How many and what books do you reread? How many times have you read them?

I re-read most of my books. The books I re-read the most would be the Harry Potter series. I find I get something new out of it each time. In a NY Times editorial by Verlyn Klinkenborg entitled Some Thoughts on the Pleasures of Being a Re-reader he writes that love of repetition seems to be ingrained in children - and perhaps, this is something many of us don't outgrow.

I've reread most of Jack Higgins books that I own, and I have read a few of Anne Rice's books more than once but I came to the realisation the other day that I have only read most of the books I own once. I realised this because I only just realised how many books I actually own Too many. Bernie gets annoyed because he thinks I should borrow them from the library instead of buying since I rarely reread. I might go back and read some of my old favourites now though.

I go to the library quite a bit. I will be going again in the next few days now that the Brisbane council will waive library fines if defaulters donate to food bank] (an article from The Courier Mail, June 3, 2010. My fees are over $10 (only like $2 from late fees, the rest are from requesting books - they charge 80 cents per book!), so this will be really good. I will donate more than one can.

I've read all the books I own a few times over. Gotta read something while I replenish my bank account to raid Booktopia. And I've read them all at least 3 times.

I own too many--my gramma keeps giving me more and more--for me to be able to reread any really, but I do occassionally reread a favorite if I'm in a funky mood.

Some books I think you just haven't read till you've read them twice. Not all, of course, but some. I reread all the time. I've read each of the Harry Potters at twice, and most of the early ones at least ten times. Then there are books like Howl's Moving Castle and the Black Gryphon which I've had since I was about thirteen and have read so many times I can't even begin to count them.
