I don't think that there'd be any issues with Joss working on an official Angel season 6 (Joss isn't exclusive with any company, so unless he agreed with Dark Horse not to have any input on an Angel S6...).
As for the art side of things, some IDW comics have fantastic art. The art on the previous Dark Horse comics wasn't great either, but they went the extra mile for season 7. I'd imagine that if Joss and co were to get behind an Angel one, it'd be much the same situation.
Auld Lang Syne's been okay, but not great. I really enjoyed Spike: Asylum, though.

Check it out, season 8 thread. So yeah, I've really enjoyed all of Vaughans stuff, too, though I haven't read as much as i probably should. I Got sidetracked by shiny Invincible and The Goon. Reading Pride though, it just smacked of Joss so I was really kind of excited when I found out he was doing the Faith line.
And you read Spike: Asylum? I haven't actually read it yet because I'm missing Issue 2, but that thing is BOUND to come out as a graphic novel soon. How long ago did it finish?

Spike: Asylum has been finished for a month or two. I found it the most enjoyable of the IDW Angel stuff so far. I'm fairly certain that the trade has been solicited, so I imagine it wouldn't be too far off.
Brian K Vaughan seems heavily influenced by Joss. I'm yet to read Pride of Baghdad, but will get to it eventually. The guy knows how to handle characters.
Jeph Loeb's usually great, though some of his recent stuff hasn't been as great, so hopefully he'll bring his A game.
Brad Meltzer's issues will be interesting. I'm a huge fan of his work, so I'm looking forward to what he brings. He's a great character writer but doesn't scream "Jossverse" to me.
Also, a bit of news on the series as well. It appears that Joss is writing the first four issue arc, which is common knowledge, but he's following it up with a standalone #5 before Brian K Vaughan comes on for his Faith arc (#s 6-9).

I had wondered how that was going to work out. I just assumed Joss's first arc would be five issues, rather than four. I wonder what the stanalone will center on. They haven't released the cover for it yet, so I'm clueless.

Yeah, I have no idea, myself. There's also going to be two months in between #s 4 and 5, or 5 and 6. I ca't remember where it exactly falls.

Looking at Dark Horse's solicitations for July, the gap is between #s 4 and 5. So no Buffy comic in July.

So not fair!! Any idea when the August issue is coming out? I want to make sure I'm able to get an issue before Dragon*Con.

First or second week in August, I'd assume. That will be #5, before the Faith arc starts.

Do you know when issue three is out?

I just checked, and it's on next week's shipping list (May 2) . That said, things can still change, and it mightn't be on the "final" list next week. I'll check early next week, and I should know for sure.

Cool. I was just wondering when issue #3 would be out. I hope it comes out on schedule though. Now, I need to find some way to read it.

The first two issues were a week late, but I don't know if they were ever included on their original shipping lists. You don't have any comic shops wh stock it in Singapore? EDIT - According to the Dark Horse website, the second Buffy Omnibus is released in September:

I've checked out the comic shops and bookstores that I know of but no luck. The big bookstores do sell Buffy comics but very limited titles and no season 8. So I'm assuming it would take some time for season 8 to reach the bookstores - or even reach at all. I managed to read the first two issues online (Farah helped me out with that) so hopefully, I'll be able to do the same for the subsequent issues.

Good luck. I'd imagine that you should be able to keep doing so, Otherwise, you could try ordering them online.

Very cool, Beck. Thanks for that.
In the letter column for #3, they said that it's definitely going past thirty issues, and could be reaching 40-50. So, it looks like there's quite a bit ahead!

I'm glad to hear it looks like it'll be having a long run. I look forward to the new issue each month (although I hate to admit that I have yet to pick up issues #3 yet). Maybe while I'm out tonight I'll think to get it. I'm very much looking toward #3, as I was left very confused and frustrated after reading #2.

Is anyone else more than a little proud that the THIRD printing of issue one hit shelves today? I know I am.

Yeah, I am. The comic is doing amazingly well. That said, no second print of #2 has hit yet, which is odd, given that it sold out almost instantly.
