Really looking forward to the GG this year. My queen Sandra Oh is hosting!

Well, I expected more from that monologue. Lol. They read from the prompter the whole time! Argh. The best part was of Emma Stone shouting ''I'm sorry." Very happy with The Americans' win (though I wished one of the actors won something). And of course Oh's win.

I thought it was incredibly random winners wise, and the show overall was dull. SO and AS were fine as hosts, just completely unremarkable. SO’s best bit was about Asian mothers and they crossed to her mum with the look, and the inspiring moments piece was decent SAGS will be more predictive of the Oscars I believe, but I think Gaga is gone. Close could get a much deserved career Oscar (I wouldn’t be disappointed, she is brilliant), or they will give it to Coleman.

As for the Oscars, I'm not a fan of Hart so I'm glad he bowed out. Don't even know why he was asked in the first place. Wished they asked Ellen again or a female comedian.

Oscar Nominations 2019 SO pissed Bradley didn’t get a Directing nod. He deserved one. It’s Affleck with Argo all over again (though I don’t think ASIB will win Best Film like Argo did) Otherwise all fairly predictable IMO. Perhaps both Roma ladies getting up is a bit of a surprise. Driver getting one too maybe. Though he is bloody good in BlacKkKlansman. Will do my picks and predictions closer to the big day, still have a fair few to watch! Bloody work interfering with my movie watching

My picks and predictions...... ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLECHRISTIAN BALE Vice BRADLEY COOPER A Star Is Born WILLEM DAFOE At Eternity's Gate RAMI MALEK Bohemian Rhapsody VIGGO MORTENSEN Green Book My pick: Bradley Cooper. Jackson Maine is a brilliant character. The voice, the walk, the singing, the way he holds himself. It’s a brilliant performance. Totally overlooked and it’s bullshit IMO. Prediction: Malek has it in the bag. Utterly ridiculous ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLEMAHERSHALA ALI Green Book ADAM DRIVER BlacKkKlansman SAM ELLIOTT A Star Is Born RICHARD E. GRANT Can You Ever Forgive Me? SAM ROCKWELL Vice My pick: Richard E Grant. He’s always been fab and he’s so good in this strange little story. Prediction: Mahershala Ali. Which is all good. He’s a bloody good actor and great in Green Book. ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLEYALITZA APARICIO Roma GLENN CLOSE The Wife OLIVIA COLMAN The Favourite LADY GAGA A Star Is Born MELISSA MCCARTHY Can You Ever Forgive Me? My pick: Gaga for a brilliant debut performance, or Glenn Close. Prediction: Close. As good as she is in the boring The Wife, this will be a career award. Deserved one. ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLEAMY ADAMS Vice MARINA DE TAVIRA Roma REGINA KING If Beale Street Could Talk EMMA STONE The Favourite RACHEL WEISZ The Favourite My pick: Regina King. They say all supporting winners have “The scene”. Oh man does she have one. Stunning. Prediction: King will get it I think. Maybe Weisz as a spoiler. She is very cool in The Favourite. DIRECTINGBLACKKKLANSMAN Spike Lee COLD WAR Paweł Pawlikowski THE FAVOURITE Yorgos Lanthimos ROMA Alfonso Cuarón VICE Adam McKay My pick: Lanthimos. The Favourite is bonkers! Prediction: It’s probably Cuaron’s to lose. Not a bad selection. BEST PICTUREBLACK PANTHER Kevin Feige, Producer BLACKKKLANSMAN Sean McKittrick, Jason Blum, Raymond Mansfield, Jordan Peele and Spike Lee, Producers BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY Graham King, Producer THE FAVOURITE Ceci Dempsey, Ed Guiney, Lee Magiday and Yorgos Lanthimos, Producers GREEN BOOK Jim Burke, Charles B. Wessler, Brian Currie, Peter Farrelly and Nick Vallelonga, Producers ROMA Gabriela Rodríguez and Alfonso Cuarón, Producers A STAR IS BORN Bill Gerber, Bradley Cooper and Lynette Howell Taylor, Producers VICE Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick, Producers My pick: A Star is Born or Black Panther. Enjoyed both A LOT. Green Book is also a good film and I wouldn’t hate it winning. Roma is boring, but brilliant. Prediction: I have no idea. Seriously. Roma has won a bit, Green Book has some wins too. As long as it’s not the shit film that is Bohemian Rhapsody I’ll be happy! Others.... Shallow will win Best Song. Would be totally shocked if it doesn’t. Into the Spiderverse is a lock animation wise. Think Spike Lee could win for screenplay. Long time coming if it happened. Would like it Infinity War won for special effects.

One really wrong. So shocked Close didn’t win!! I can’t fault Olivia Coleman getting the little gold man though. She is bloody good, and an absolutely delightful person

I'm shock Green Book won Best Picture. With all the stuff surrounding that movie, didn't think it would win it. I was hoping The Favourite would win it. Loved that movie.
So happy for Coleman. Though any of the ladies winning (besides Gaga) I would have been happy with. I can't wait to see her in The Crown.
Everything else was pretty predictable.
Tell me why didn't they get one of the females who presented Best Supporting Actress to host? Or Ellen? Or even Melissa McCarthy?

I don’t think many were predictable really. Because so many of them made no fricking sense. Bohemian Rhapsody winning editing is a total joke. Just abysmal. How does Green Book win screenplay against that competition?! No way. Sound not going to First Man?? Totally wrong.
Also shocked about Best Pic, but I enjoyed that film, and I thought the performances were very strong. Is is the film of the year? Nope.

I'd hope Richard E Grant would win because he was totally snubbed for Spice World.
Thoroughly enjoyed Olivia Colman's speech.

I kind of missed the cohesion and “touchstone” that a host provides honestly. A good host of course. Not Hathaway and Franco level I agree those bits you mentioned ^^ were amusing I liked the umbrella bit from K-MK too. Think it went over a few peoples heads. Gaga’s second dress (for THAT performance and when she won), her hair, make up and the perfection that is the Tiffany diamond was basically my dream awards everything put right in front of me. Nothing compares
