Favorite Superhero!

So this is a NON Buffy superhero thread. I know, it's difficult.

So who is your favorite or least favorite? Who has the coolest power? Who has the best story? Etc. blah.

I love Batman. I don't why he stands out to me more than all the others. I think it's cool that he is human yet kicks major ass. I wouldn't say he has the best powers, but his darkness and lifestyle just stands out the most to me.

I'm also going to vote for Batman, I've been a huge fan of him for as long as I can remember (and yes, that does outdate Tim Burton's first Bat-film). I agree for the reasons Bre listed, he's dark, he's scary, and he's seriously messed up.

Superman's also cool, for the complete opposite reasons as Batman. He's got amazing powers, and he does what he does because his parents taught him that's what's right.

As for my least favourite, I'll go Wolverine. Hugh Jackman was great in the role, but as a character, he's a walking, talking cliche.

I really like the X-men. I think all of them are pretty cool superheros, but i think my favorite would have to be Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler. I love his power in the movie X-men 2. It's so cool how he can bounce around and transport so quickly. It's a great fighting technique. And i bet you he has an awesome background story. It's to bad we didn't get to explore is character further in the third X-men film. They didn't even have him in the movie. Other than him, i really like Wolverine. His background story was so well put together. And the healing power is probably the best power to have.

Batman gets my vote too, i tend to like my heros a little on the dark side, the punisher is also one of my favorites but he's not as cool as the bat, be intresting to see what he does as captain america tho, im not a fan of cap or superman, bloody poster childs

I'm a huge Superman buff so my favourite has to be him. It's really hard to explain why I love him. I love his powers, how 'perfect' he is and how he becomes a bumbling idoit when he is Clark Kent. There's something about him that's very appealing to me and it's really hard to explain.

Batman comes a close second.

My least favourite (on that list) would be The Hulk. Never liked him.

i think the main reason that i dont like superman very much is his powers, he seems to have it all, fair enough he has a weakness against krytptonite but he's the strongest fastest he can fly and has xray and heat vision, your average super villian has no chance against him,

Yeah, I'd imagine it would be quite tough for writers to come out with "real" threats for Superman. Because he is just that powerful. As a character though, I think he works. It took me a little while, but I find him somewhat refreshing compared to many other characters.

And let's not forget, he is also the original. Without him, the others would probably not exist.

I'm basing this off the movies - I loved the first two SpiderMan movies. The third wasn't all that fantastic, but I really enjoy the SpiderMan story.

Superman for me. Loved him since i was a little kid I try not to let myself get too annoyed by the fact that people can't recognize that Clark Kent is Superman with glasses and scruffy hair!!

Bats got my vote. I grew up with the Batman Animated Series and I just love the darkness of Batman and the dynamic of him not having superpowers. Though my favorite superhero group would be the Birds of Prey (with Oracle leading) or the Justice League (though the comic one isn't as enjoyable as the Animated Series).

And I actually liked the Birds of Prey TV series. But then again I've never read the comics so I don't know how accurate it was.

It wasn't accurate at all, though it was loosely based on various bits that are no longer in the comics' continuity. But in a nutshell, in the comics, Oracle is a computer genius who was Batgirl and is now in a wheelchair (about the only accurate thing from the show), Huntress isn't Batman and Catwoman's daughter and has no superpowers, and Dinah is a fully grown woman (Black Canary).

Regardless, I thought the writing and acting on the show was terrible.

Ouch. I love The Batman, I think its different and cool. Its a nice "not have to think" series. Plus I like what they did with Poison Ivy.

I enjoyed Birds of Prey the series, though I hated the casting of The Huntress (though her origins follow one of the alternet world Helena's, so its not totaly off). I also hated the entire Dinah thing... I would rather of had Black Canary over her daughter, and the episode BC was in rocked though. I also hated Harley, cause she was to sane.

Though the series finale wasn't bad.

Things like Poison Ivy are what I hate about The Batman! In all fairness, it does have some cool episodes sometimes, but it's nowhere near the quality of Batman TAS.

I have to rethink my vote..... Batman would be top of the list. but if I could be a superhero I would be Elektra. hot costume, cool name, excellent martial arts skills....

Elektra's awesome. It's a shame her movie sucked, but she is a very cool character. And she does have one of the coolest looks.

It was ashame about the movie... Though I loved the casting choice of Jennifer Garner.
