The Sky Chasers trilogy by Amy Kathleen Ryan is good too - very much like Across the Universe. Two books are out.  I just finished book two and glad you suggested this trilogy because I really enjoyed it. Wish the third book would come out already though |

At the moment I am more actively reading In Search of Politics by Zygmunt Bauman, Culture and Commitment by Margaret Mead, Interpretation of Culture by Clifford Geertz, and Hidden Agendas by John Pilger.
