The two of them shook hands.
TABITHA: What’s going on?
All five of them turned towards her in unison.
Xander stepped forward with a smile.
XANDER: Tabitha, I’m glad you’re awake. Your mom and dad were just saying goodbye.
TABITHA: (frowned) Goodbye?
TREVOR: We got room at a nearby motel. Not something we usually stay in but it would do for a few days.
Tabitha looked at them in surprise.
TABITHA: You guys are really leaving?
Serene laughed.
SERENE: We are not leaving town. But we would love to come back for dinner tonight.
TABITHA: But you’re leaving?
PIKE: Isn’t that what you wanted, Tabby?
Pike was on the couch with his feet up on the table in front of him. He looked at Tabitha pointedly as he asked her his question.
PIKE: Isn’t that what you have been telling us last night – that you wanted them gone?
TABITHA: Yeah. But I didn’t think they would listen.
TREVOR: Well, this is your house and you have every right to chase us out.
Tabitha shook her head, unable to believe what they were saying.
TABITHA: Wow. I’m speechless. I never expected you guys to actually listen to me.
Tabitha looked at Pike and then to her parents. A smile slowly formed on her lips. She raised her hands and stretched them above her head.
TABITHA: And here I thought it was going to be a bad morning.
She whirled around and bounded out of the living room. The rest stared after her, not sure how to react.
XANDER: Well. That was one happy trooper.
Pike got up from his seat and gestured towards the two bags on the floor.
PIKE: You want me to help you load those into the car?
His mother looked at him, tearing a little.
SERENE: You’re not going to let her kick us out are you? We are your parents.
Pike sighed.
PIKE: She made her decision mom.
SERENE: Can’t you at least talk to her?
PIKE: I could but do you think she would change her mind after what happened?
SERENE: But it was so long ago.
Pike shook his head.
PIKE: But not to her.
SERENE: You could at least –
Pike lifted his hand, cutting her off.
PIKE: Mom, do you remember what you said to us before we left?
SERENE: I…I do.
TREVOR: Your mother didn’t mean what she said, Oliver. We have apologized for that.
PIKE: Well what is done is done. She took what you said seriously and I don’t think anything could change her mind.
~During the fight at the monastery~
Astwihad looked on as Jeff jumped into the air and unveiled his wings.
ASTWIHAD: Huh. He’s the flying kind. Didn’t expect that.
AHRIMAN: Aren’t you going to help him?
ASTWIHAD: I would but it’s so much more fun watching.
He glanced over his shoulder to looked at Ahriman.
ASTWIHAD: Don’t you agree?
Ahriman didn’t look amuse. Astwihad sighed.
ASTWIHAD: Fine. I’ll go and help him.
He snapped his fingers and in a blink of an eye, his brow started to thicken and his eyes glowed yellow. Once his disguise of a vampire was up, he strode towards the door.
ASTWIHAD: Don’t wait up.

Asta narrowed her eyes, her gaze boring into Andrew’s. Her expression was intense and was deep in concentration. Andrew mirrored her expression.
ANDREW: Are you sure about this, Slayer?
ASTA: (smiled) Oh yeah. I’m sure.
ANDREW: Let’s see what you got then.
Asta didn’t move. She continued to stare at Andrew. A moment later, she dropped her gaze to the cards she was holding. There were three cards in her hands. One of them was a blue 3, the other was a red 5 and the last card was a black Wild card. In the middle of the dining table was a pile of cards and on top of it was a green 0.
Asta chewed on her lower lip thoughtfully. She pulled the Wild card from her deck but changed her mind a second later, slotting the card back in its place.
XANDER: Can you just put a card down already? You have been deliberating for the past fifteen minutes!
Xander was sitting between Asta and Andrew and he looked bored.
ASTA: I have to think.
Xander leaned over and glanced at her cards.
XANDER: But you only can put down one card. You don’t have any green.
ANDREW: A-ha! I knew you don’t have a green!
TABITHA: Well, neither do you.
Andrew turned in his seat and saw Tabitha grinning down on him.
ANDREW: Hey! That’s cheating!
TABITHA: Xander gave away Asta’s cards. It’s only fair that I do the same.
She winked at the young Watcher before taking her seat between Andrew and Pike.
TABITHA: (to Pike) Who’s winning?
Pike yawned, resting his chin on palm of his hand.
PIKE: Who knows. I lost track ever since I won the last round.
Asta took her Wild card and slapped it on the pile in the middle of the table. Asta turned to Tabitha.
ASTA: What colours does he have?
TABITHA: All yellow.
ASTA: (grinned) Then I’ll pick blue.
ANDEW: That’s not fair! This is cheating. It doesn’t count if you win.
Asta watched happily as Andrew took a card from the deck on the table. After he took his card, she put her blue card on the pile.
ASTA: Uno. Your turn.
Andrew muttered something unintelligible under his breath as he took another card from the deck. Asta had now only one card left and it was a red 5. Since she couldn’t put that card down, she picked a card from the deck. She got another Wild card that had a “+4” sign on it.
Asta grinned as she placed that card down. Andrew groaned as he picked up four cards from the deck. Asta placed her last card down and stood up, grinning.
ASTA: Game over. And now I’m off to patrol.
ANDREW: No, it’s not game over! You didn’t win cause you cheated. Another round!
Asta and the rest got up and left the table, leaving Andrew behind.
ANDREW: Another round!
~Andrew and Pike in the elevator~
ANDREW: Is it stuck?
Pike pressed the door open button but nothing happened.
PIKE: This can’t be happening.
ANDREW: Are we stuck?
Pike continued jabbing the button.
PIKE: I think so.
ANDREW: So what now?
Pike studied the panel that where the buttons were.

The phone in the house rang. Andrew went to pick it up.
ANDREW: Hello?
VOICE: Andrew? It’s Mr. Giles.
ANDREW: Giles! How are you? How is London?
VOICE/GILES: I’m good and England is the same – cold and depressing.
ANDREW: Good, good.
GILES: Right. Erm…Xander called and he was looking for you. I assume everything is alright.
ANDREW: Oh yeah, it’s fine. I just got kidnapped, that’s all. No biggie.
GILES: Good lord, are you sure you’re alright?
ANDREW: I’m fine really.
GILES: Alright. The reason why I called is because I need you to go L.A. There’s a Slayer I need you to pick up.
ANDREW: But I have my own Slayer.
GILES: I know. But I just need you to get this Slayer and bring her back to England.
ANDREW: Why me?
GILES: You’re the best person for this job – Buffy’s words. It’s a simple responsibility. Just go to L.A get the Slayer and come back to Cleveland. There will be a plane in Cleveland to pick her up.
ANDREW: Why can’t you pick her up in L.A.?
GILES: Because there are some people are there who badly wants this girl. Bringing her to Cleveland will put them off your tracks. Do you understand?
ANDREW: Yes, I do.
GILES: Good. I’ll send some backup in case something goes wrong but I doubt it will. (pause) I trust you’re able to do this.
ANDREW: I won’t let you down.
GILES: Yes, please try not to. I’ll keep in touch.
Giles hang up and a moment later Andrew did the same. He grinned.
ANDREW: Cool, I’m going to L.A.

Tabitha ran down the stairs with Xander closely behind her. She flicked her gaze from Andrew to Mr. Dawson.
TABITHA: What’s going on?
DOUGLAS: Where’s Asta?
TABITHA: She’s not here, Mr. Dawson, and I suggest you leave before I call the cops.
DOUGLAS: You can’t take my daughter away from me. You took her away once but I won’t allow it to happen again!
TABITHA: Mr. Dawson, you have to understand that this is Asta’s life now. She’s no more that little girl. She can take care of herself.
DOUGLAS: No! I know that you people can’t protect her. She needs me.

Asta ran up to her father and pulled him into a hug. Douglas chuckled.
DOUGLAS: Glad to know you’re not mad at me anymore.
Asta pulled away from her father and studied the older man from head to toe.
ASTA: Are you ok? Are you hurt?
DOUGLAS: Of course I’m ok, Bug!
Knowing that her dad was indeed safe and unhurt, Asta went up to Ashley, glaring.
ASTA: It was you!
ASHLEY: What are you talking about?
ASTA: You were the voice!
ASHLEY: Voice? Asta, I have no idea what you’re talking about. What voice?
ASTA: What are you doing with my dad?
DOUGLAS: We bumped into each other. He told me he was your friend.
Asta scowled as Ashley continued to smile at her.
ASTA: He’s not my friend.
ASHLEY: (laughed) Don’t listen to her, she’s always saying that.
Asta ignored Ashley and turned to Douglas.
ASTA: Dad, what are you doing here? You know it’s not safe out here.
DOUGLAS: I know, Bug, but I needed to talk to you.
ASTA: Can’t this wait till I was home?
ASHLEY: It’s pretty important, Asta, and I think you should listen to what your father has to say.
Asta narrowed her eyes at Ashley.
ASTA: And this is your business how?
Ashley’s smile suddenly disappeared. He looked around the cemetery anxiously as he stepped up towards the slayer.
ASHLEY: How about we go somewhere less cemetery-like and talk?
ASTA (to Douglas) What’s going on?
DOUGLAS: I think Ashley’s right. We should find a place –
ASTA: We can go home.
ASHLEY: Not a good idea. I don’t think your friends would like to hear what your dad has to say.
ASTA: All the more reason to go there, don’t you think?
DOUGLAS: Asta…
ASTA: Tell me what’s going on, Dad, or I’m leaving.
Episode 1.13 “Soully Yours”
Deleted Scene:
~Pike meets The Blond instead of the vampire~
The girl didn’t reply and Pike didn’t expect her to.
PIKE: Ok. Answer me this.
Pike slipped out a stake and tossed it in the air and catching it.
PIKE: Are you a vampire?
Unexpectedly, the woman didn’t vamp out. She stood there and continued to stare at him. Then she threw a question of her own.
WOMAN: Are you a slayer?
Pike blinked in surprise.
PIKE: A slayer? I’m not a girl so no, I’m not a slayer.
The woman smiled evilly.
WOMAN: Ok.
Before Pike could react, the woman struck Pike across the face. The unexpected blow caused Pike to fall to the ground. His head exploded in pain and he spat out blood.
PIKE: Ok. That was unexpected.
The woman didn’t stop there. The woman kicked Pike in the chest then picked him up and threw him against the wall of a mausoleum.
Pike groaned. He suddenly felt to weak to fight back. The flu was taking its toll. The woman came up to him and towered over him. Pike looked up at her.
PIKE: What do you want?
WOMAN: The slayer.
PIKE: I don’t know where she is.
WOMAN: But you were looking for her.
PIKE: Exactly. Because I don’t know where she is.
Pike slowly picked himself up, cradling his chest. The world started to spin around him. He shook his head to clear his vision.
PIKE: Is…there anything…
Pike stumbled forward. His vision started to darken.
WOMAN: Weakling.
The woman turned and walked away from the sick Pike.
PIKE: I…
He dropped to his knees as his body was wrecked with coughs.
Episode 1.14 “The Importance of Being Asta”[/u][/i]

~Asta demands the truth from the gang~[/i]
ASTA: The woman did mention something about why the stone didn’t work.
The three of them straightened. They exchanged worried looks.
XANDER: She did? What did she say?
ASTA: I was right, wasn’t I?
ANDREW: About what?
ASTA: Give it up, Andrew. I know you guys know. Look you at three. You can’t lie if your lives depended on it!
ANDREW: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
ASTA: Don’t lie!
The chair nearest to Asta flew across the kitchen and smashed into refrigerator. The three of them around the dining table stood up after realizing that it was Asta who threw the chair.
ASTA: I have heard enough lies. So please…don’t lie to me.
XANDER: Ok…ok, Asta, just calm down for a moment, alright? We’ll explain everything to you but you just have to calm down.
ASTA: Just tell me what I am.
TABITHA: We don’t know. All we know is that you’re not just a Slayer. You’re something more than that.
ASTA: You don’t know.
XANDER: There’s no need to worry. There isn’t evidence suggesting that you’re…
ASTA: That I’m what? A demon? Evil? An evil demon?
Episode 1.15 “Flagrante Delicto”[/i][/u]

DAVID: What the hell is going on? Is this some kind of joke?
PIKE: Huh?
DAVID: Look!
Pike took a sip of his drink as he looked at the direction David was pointing. Tabitha and Andrew were seated closely on the couch – so close that they were almost on top of each other’s lap. They were giggling and smiling at each other.
Pike spit out his drink in shock.
PIKE: What the hell?!
DAVID: You tell me, Pike. It’s your sister!
PIKE: And your girlfriend!
Pike turned to Asta and Xander, who were watching Andrew and Tabitha. They didn’t look as shock as he was.
PIKE: What’s going on? What the hell is Tabby doing with Andrew?
Asta giggled.
ASTA: They are in love.
PIKE: In what?
XANDER: In love.
PIKE: But it’s Tabitha and Andrew!
ASTA: So? You can’t help with who you are falling in love with.
Pike blinked. Then he noticed something weird. The two of them were holding hands and were sneaking glances at one another.
PIKE: Whoa. Why are you guys holding hands?
Asta grinned.
ASTA: It’s people like us would do, silly.
PIKE: People like us?
ASTA: People in love.
As if on cue, Asta and Xander turned their heads towards each other and leaned in for a passionate kiss.
PIKE: Oh no.
David tugged Pike’s shirt.
DAVID: You can say that again.
Pike glanced over his shoulder and gasped. Tabitha and Andrew were making out on the couch.
PIKE: Bad dream. Baaad dream.
Episode 1.16 “Things I Don't Understand”[/u][/i]

SEBASTIAN: I’m sure he didn’t mean what he said. He’s just worried about his sister.

The hall of the monastery was dark. Asta stood in the middle with a thoughtful expression on her face. She was looking at someone in front of her.
ASTA: I know who you are.
VOICE: You do?
ASTA: My friends…they told me.
VOICE: They did? And you believe them?
ASTA: Not at first but…after everything that has happened…it makes sense now.
VOICE: And?
ASTA: And they are right. You are responsible…for me.
VOICE: Maybe.
Asta lifted a mean looking dagger and studied its blade. Her bloody face reflected back on the blade but it didn’t faze the Slayer.
She looked up at the person again.
ASTA: You’re right – about something you said.
VOICE: And what would that be?
ASTA: I have to accept who I really am.
VOICE: And who are you, Asta?
ASTA: A Saoshyant.
VOICE: Yes, you are.
ASTA: Tell me, what do I have to do?
VOICE: Just what you have been doing all along.
ASTA: And my friends? They will stop me.
VOICE: They will try. But you are much too powerful than them, Asta. They are no match for you.
ASTA: You don’t understand. They’ll do everything they can to stop me – stop us.
VOICE: Then maybe we should do something about it. Time is running out. Your friends would only just be the beginning. After them, it’s the people of Hades Valley. And after that, it’s the world.
The man turned and gestured to something behind him. With the dim light, she was able to distinguish limp bodies hanging from a lone tree. Asta gasped when she recognized the dead bodies of her friends – Xander, Andrew, Tabitha and Pike.
ASTA: The world…
VOICE: All this can happen if you accept your destiny – accept who you really are.
ASTA: Yes, you’re right. I have to accept my destiny.
VOICE: And rule the world with me.
A hand reached out towards Asta and she looked at it. Asta dropped the dagger to the floor, the sound of the weapon hitting the ground echoed eerily around the hall of the monastery. Asta looked up at the person in front of her.
VOICE: Tell me, Asta, why are you here? You know who I am now. Shouldn’t you be killing me?
ASTA: Why should I?
VOICE: You tell me, Asta.
ASTA: I can’t kill you. I don’t kill my own family.
VOICE: Good. Then accept your destiny.
She reached out and took the hand.

And with that, the five of them broke into a run with Willow leading the way.

Two blocks away from the monastery was an abandoned house where Willow had set up her little headquarters. As soon as the gang entered the house, they were greeted by almost two dozens teenage girls.
WILLOW: Everyone, my Slayers. Slayers, this is everyone.
All the slayers called out a hello in unison.
XANDER: Geez, Will, where did you get them?
WILLOW: When Andrew told us the situation here, we knew we needed every help we could get. So we just rounded up as many Slayers as we could. You can call this their little field trip.
Willow led them to the kitchen where it looked like it was the only place that was empty.
PIKE: So all of them are Slayers?
WILLOW: Yup.
PIKE: And they are all girls?
WILLOW: (smiling) You’ll be the first to know when we find a guy slayer.
XANDER: So what’s the plan? (pause) You have a plan right?
WILLOW: More or less.
Willow gestured for them to sit around the dining. They took their seats and waited for Willow to continue. Willow flashed them a bright smile as she looked over her audience.
WILLOW: I have charts and everything!
TABITHA: No.
All eyes turned to Tabitha. It was her first word since what happened to David. Pike placed a hand on her shoulder.
PIKE: Tabby, I know what you’re thinking but we need to keep a level head at the moment.
Tabitha glared at her brother.
TABITHA: I don’t care. Astwihad killed David. I don’t care how many charts or strategies you have. I know what I’m going to do.
Pike looked puzzled.
PIKE: What are you talking about?
XANDER: David made a deal with Astwihad. Heal Tabitha in exchange for his life.
PIKE: What?
TABITHA: (to Xander) You mean you know about this?
XANDER: Not until just now. Asta told me that Astwihad was responsible and when you said what happened to David, I put everything together.
TABITHA: Asta knew…
XANDER: But I don’t think she knew that David gave his life. Astwihad probably twisted some tale to make him look like the good guy.
Tabitha stood up.
TABITHA: I’m going.
PIKE: Tabby, you can’t just go after him yourself.
TABITHA: Watch me.
Tabitha stalked out of the kitchen.
PIKE: I’m going after her. You guys stay here and do what you have to do.
XANDER: No! You both need us. You can’t do this alone.
PIKE: Well, I can’t let Tabitha go by herself either. Either you stay here and get everything sorted out or you’re coming with me now.
ANDREW: I’m coming with you. Asta is still here with Astwihad and she’s my responsibility. Maybe what Xander said to her might have gotten through to her.
XANDER: Count me in. (to Willow) Will?
WILLOW: Go. I’ll be right behind you.
The three men rushed out of the kitchen without another word.

~MONASTERY~
Asta watched in horror as the demons under Ahriman clashed with her friends and their demon army.
ASTA: I have to do something.
Astwihad laughed.
ASTWIHAD: Do what? Help them?
ASTA: They are my friends, Ashley!
Astwihad’s expression darkened. He grabbed Asta’s arm roughly and pulled her close.
ASTWIHAD: My name’s Astwihad. Remember that!
Asta scowled as she struggled to get her arm free from Astwihad’s tight grip.
ASTA: Let me go.
Astwihad did what Asta asked.
ASTWIHAD: You should be grateful for all the things Ahriman and I have done for you.
ASTA: Grateful? You’re killing my friends! You didn’t mention any of that!
ASTWIHAD: Oh so all of a sudden you care for your friends? What about the past couple of days when you didn’t give a crap about them?
ASTA: I didn’t say that. You told me you would take care of them.
ASTWIHAD: And I’m keeping my promise.
ASTA: How? By taking their lives?
Astwihad shoved a sword into her hands. The slayer took it reluctantly.
ASTWIHAD: Here. Go make yourself useful.
Asta turned to leave when Astwihad’s voice stopped her.
ASTWIHAD: And Asta? Don’t forget which side you’re on.

Episode 1.01 “Back to Basics”[/u][/i]
- Asta was first called Kylie but since it sounded too much like Jewel’s character in Firefly so it was changed.
- The character of David Boone was first played by Jason Ritter but because he looked too young to be Tabitha’s boyfriend, Tyron Leitso was given the role instead.
- Tyron Leitso worked with Jewel Staite in Wonderfalls.
- Alexa Davalos who played Gwen in Angel was considered playing the part of Tabitha. So was Hilarie Burton who plays Peyton Sawyer in One Tree Hill.
- Creators were so impress with Cillian Murphy’s performance in Red Eye and Batman Begins, they did everything they can to get him to take the role of Pike.
Episode 1.02 “Here We Go”
- Asta, Andrew, Xander and Buffy were suppose to be in Hades Valley in this episode. But due to time, it was pushed back to the next episode.
Episode 1.03 “Slayer, The”
- There was suppose to be a scene between Xander and Buffy saying goodbye but because of time, the scene wasn’t put it.
- The title comes from Buffy’s Doomed where Buffy tries to explain what a slayer is to Riley.
Episode 1.04 “Something Evil This Way Comes”
- Astwihad planning to go after Tabitha was added only after the 5th episode was written.
Episode 1.05 “See, Hear, Speak”
- The character of Astwihad was first played by Charlie O’Connell. But the actor was changed to Dean Cain after writing the 4th episode.
Episode 1.06 “The Story of Us”
- This episode had many versions but because of time and the way the story was going, most of it was deleted.
- Tyron Leitso was suppose to appear in this episode.

PIKE: I could but do you think she would change her mind after what happened?
SERENE: But it was so long ago.
Pike shook his head.
PIKE: But not to her.
SERENE: You could at least –
Pike lifted his hand, cutting her off.
PIKE: Mom, do you remember what you said to us before we left?
SERENE: I…I do.
TREVOR: Your mother didn’t mean what she said, Oliver. We have apologized for that.
PIKE: Well what is done is done. She took what you said seriously and I don’t think anything could change her mind.
~During the fight at the monastery~
Astwihad looked on as Jeff jumped into the air and unveiled his wings.
ASTWIHAD: Huh. He’s the flying kind. Didn’t expect that.
AHRIMAN: Aren’t you going to help him?
ASTWIHAD: I would but it’s so much more fun watching.
He glanced over his shoulder to looked at Ahriman.
ASTWIHAD: Don’t you agree?
Ahriman didn’t look amuse. Astwihad sighed.
ASTWIHAD: Fine. I’ll go and help him.
He snapped his fingers and in a blink of an eye, his brow started to thicken and his eyes glowed yellow. Once his disguise of a vampire was up, he strode towards the door.
ASTWIHAD: Don’t wait up.
Episode 1.07 “Once Bitten”
- This episode was first titled “Bleed” and was suppose to be an Andrew centric episode. It was pushed to episode 8.
Episode 1.8 “Perdido”
- Perdio means lost in Spanish.
- This episode was originally titled “Bleed”.
- One of Asta’s dreams comes true.
Episode 1.09 “That Thing We Do”
- This episode was suppose to be an Angel crossover where crazy slayer Dana appears but the episode was pushed to ep 11.
- In that episode, the back-story of Dana was suppose to be told but writers thought it would be better if a story of what happened to Dana after Andrew extracted her from L.A. was more appropriate.
- Originally, this ep was not suppose to be a two parter.
- The title of the ep was inspired by the song “That Thing You Do” which Pike and Andrew sings in the elevator.

Asta narrowed her eyes, her gaze boring into Andrew’s. Her expression was intense and was deep in concentration. Andrew mirrored her expression.
ANDREW: Are you sure about this, Slayer?
ASTA: (smiled) Oh yeah. I’m sure.
ANDREW: Let’s see what you got then.
Asta didn’t move. She continued to stare at Andrew. A moment later, she dropped her gaze to the cards she was holding. There were three cards in her hands. One of them was a blue 3, the other was a red 5 and the last card was a black Wild card. In the middle of the dining table was a pile of cards and on top of it was a green 0.
Asta chewed on her lower lip thoughtfully. She pulled the Wild card from her deck but changed her mind a second later, slotting the card back in its place.
XANDER: Can you just put a card down already? You have been deliberating for the past fifteen minutes!
Xander was sitting between Asta and Andrew and he looked bored.
ASTA: I have to think.
Xander leaned over and glanced at her cards.
XANDER: But you only can put down one card. You don’t have any green.
ANDREW: A-ha! I knew you don’t have a green!
TABITHA: Well, neither do you.
Andrew turned in his seat and saw Tabitha grinning down on him.
ANDREW: Hey! That’s cheating!
TABITHA: Xander gave away Asta’s cards. It’s only fair that I do the same.
She winked at the young Watcher before taking her seat between Andrew and Pike.
TABITHA: (to Pike) Who’s winning?
Pike yawned, resting his chin on palm of his hand.
PIKE: Who knows. I lost track ever since I won the last round.
Asta took her Wild card and slapped it on the pile in the middle of the table. Asta turned to Tabitha.
ASTA: What colours does he have?
TABITHA: All yellow.
ASTA: (grinned) Then I’ll pick blue.
ANDEW: That’s not fair! This is cheating. It doesn’t count if you win.
Asta watched happily as Andrew took a card from the deck on the table. After he took his card, she put her blue card on the pile.
ASTA: Uno. Your turn.
Andrew muttered something unintelligible under his breath as he took another card from the deck. Asta had now only one card left and it was a red 5. Since she couldn’t put that card down, she picked a card from the deck. She got another Wild card that had a “+4” sign on it.
Asta grinned as she placed that card down. Andrew groaned as he picked up four cards from the deck. Asta placed her last card down and stood up, grinning.
ASTA: Game over. And now I’m off to patrol.
ANDREW: No, it’s not game over! You didn’t win cause you cheated. Another round!
Asta and the rest got up and left the table, leaving Andrew behind.
ANDREW: Another round!

ANDREW: Is it stuck?
Pike pressed the door open button but nothing happened.
PIKE: This can’t be happening.
ANDREW: Are we stuck?
Pike continued jabbing the button.
PIKE: I think so.
ANDREW: So what now?
Pike studied the panel that where the buttons were.
Episode 1.10 “Incubus”
- This ep was originally titled “If Tomorrow Never Comes”. But it was changed when writers decided that “That Thing We Do” would be a two parter.

The phone in the house rang. Andrew went to pick it up.
ANDREW: Hello?
VOICE: Andrew? It’s Mr. Giles.
ANDREW: Giles! How are you? How is London?
VOICE/GILES: I’m good and England is the same – cold and depressing.
ANDREW: Good, good.
GILES: Right. Erm…Xander called and he was looking for you. I assume everything is alright.
ANDREW: Oh yeah, it’s fine. I just got kidnapped, that’s all. No biggie.
GILES: Good lord, are you sure you’re alright?
ANDREW: I’m fine really.
GILES: Alright. The reason why I called is because I need you to go L.A. There’s a Slayer I need you to pick up.
ANDREW: But I have my own Slayer.
GILES: I know. But I just need you to get this Slayer and bring her back to England.
ANDREW: Why me?
GILES: You’re the best person for this job – Buffy’s words. It’s a simple responsibility. Just go to L.A get the Slayer and come back to Cleveland. There will be a plane in Cleveland to pick her up.
ANDREW: Why can’t you pick her up in L.A.?
GILES: Because there are some people are there who badly wants this girl. Bringing her to Cleveland will put them off your tracks. Do you understand?
ANDREW: Yes, I do.
GILES: Good. I’ll send some backup in case something goes wrong but I doubt it will. (pause) I trust you’re able to do this.
ANDREW: I won’t let you down.
GILES: Yes, please try not to. I’ll keep in touch.
Giles hang up and a moment later Andrew did the same. He grinned.
ANDREW: Cool, I’m going to L.A.
Episode 1.011 “Dana”[/u][/i]
- This episode marks the halfway point of the season.
- Asta went on a month hiatus after this episode was aired.
Episode 1.012 “Like Father”[/u][/i]
- After a long hiatus, the season was resumed with “Like Father”.
- This episode was first called “Mind Freak” and was suppose to be a Xander centric episode.
- This is the first time that any of Asta’s parents were mentioned or appeared in an episode.
- So who is like father? Xander. Tabitha makes this comparison, sparking a possible love relationship with Xander and Asta.

Tabitha ran down the stairs with Xander closely behind her. She flicked her gaze from Andrew to Mr. Dawson.
TABITHA: What’s going on?
DOUGLAS: Where’s Asta?
TABITHA: She’s not here, Mr. Dawson, and I suggest you leave before I call the cops.
DOUGLAS: You can’t take my daughter away from me. You took her away once but I won’t allow it to happen again!
TABITHA: Mr. Dawson, you have to understand that this is Asta’s life now. She’s no more that little girl. She can take care of herself.
DOUGLAS: No! I know that you people can’t protect her. She needs me.

Asta ran up to her father and pulled him into a hug. Douglas chuckled.
DOUGLAS: Glad to know you’re not mad at me anymore.
Asta pulled away from her father and studied the older man from head to toe.
ASTA: Are you ok? Are you hurt?
DOUGLAS: Of course I’m ok, Bug!
Knowing that her dad was indeed safe and unhurt, Asta went up to Ashley, glaring.
ASTA: It was you!
ASHLEY: What are you talking about?
ASTA: You were the voice!
ASHLEY: Voice? Asta, I have no idea what you’re talking about. What voice?
ASTA: What are you doing with my dad?
DOUGLAS: We bumped into each other. He told me he was your friend.
Asta scowled as Ashley continued to smile at her.
ASTA: He’s not my friend.
ASHLEY: (laughed) Don’t listen to her, she’s always saying that.
Asta ignored Ashley and turned to Douglas.
ASTA: Dad, what are you doing here? You know it’s not safe out here.
DOUGLAS: I know, Bug, but I needed to talk to you.
ASTA: Can’t this wait till I was home?
ASHLEY: It’s pretty important, Asta, and I think you should listen to what your father has to say.
Asta narrowed her eyes at Ashley.
ASTA: And this is your business how?
Ashley’s smile suddenly disappeared. He looked around the cemetery anxiously as he stepped up towards the slayer.
ASHLEY: How about we go somewhere less cemetery-like and talk?
ASTA (to Douglas) What’s going on?
DOUGLAS: I think Ashley’s right. We should find a place –
ASTA: We can go home.
ASHLEY: Not a good idea. I don’t think your friends would like to hear what your dad has to say.
ASTA: All the more reason to go there, don’t you think?
DOUGLAS: Asta…
ASTA: Tell me what’s going on, Dad, or I’m leaving.
Episode 1.13 “Soully Yours”
- This would be the first time that new information of Asta is revealed.
- Besides the dreams and voices, Asta is now known to be more than a slayer.
- A new character, Sebastian Gold, is introduced.
- The blond woman (the hunter) was originally called Sal but creators decided it would be better if the woman was without a name.

The girl didn’t reply and Pike didn’t expect her to.
PIKE: Ok. Answer me this.
Pike slipped out a stake and tossed it in the air and catching it.
PIKE: Are you a vampire?
Unexpectedly, the woman didn’t vamp out. She stood there and continued to stare at him. Then she threw a question of her own.
WOMAN: Are you a slayer?
Pike blinked in surprise.
PIKE: A slayer? I’m not a girl so no, I’m not a slayer.
The woman smiled evilly.
WOMAN: Ok.
Before Pike could react, the woman struck Pike across the face. The unexpected blow caused Pike to fall to the ground. His head exploded in pain and he spat out blood.
PIKE: Ok. That was unexpected.
The woman didn’t stop there. The woman kicked Pike in the chest then picked him up and threw him against the wall of a mausoleum.
Pike groaned. He suddenly felt to weak to fight back. The flu was taking its toll. The woman came up to him and towered over him. Pike looked up at her.
PIKE: What do you want?
WOMAN: The slayer.
PIKE: I don’t know where she is.
WOMAN: But you were looking for her.
PIKE: Exactly. Because I don’t know where she is.
Pike slowly picked himself up, cradling his chest. The world started to spin around him. He shook his head to clear his vision.
PIKE: Is…there anything…
Pike stumbled forward. His vision started to darken.
WOMAN: Weakling.
The woman turned and walked away from the sick Pike.
PIKE: I…
He dropped to his knees as his body was wrecked with coughs.
Episode 1.14 “The Importance of Being Asta”[/u][/i]
- The title is a play on the movie title “The Importance of Being Ernest”.
- Pike only appears in one scene.
- We find out that David has plans to propose to Tabitha.
Keegan Kang returns as Slick since last appearing in episode 8.
The Blond is the second person that Asta kills after Dana.

The three of them straightened. They exchanged worried looks.
XANDER: She did? What did she say?
ASTA: I was right, wasn’t I?

ASTA: Give it up, Andrew. I know you guys know. Look you at three. You can’t lie if your lives depended on it!
ANDREW: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
ASTA: Don’t lie!
The chair nearest to Asta flew across the kitchen and smashed into refrigerator. The three of them around the dining table stood up after realizing that it was Asta who threw the chair.
ASTA: I have heard enough lies. So please…don’t lie to me.
XANDER: Ok…ok, Asta, just calm down for a moment, alright? We’ll explain everything to you but you just have to calm down.
ASTA: Just tell me what I am.
TABITHA: We don’t know. All we know is that you’re not just a Slayer. You’re something more than that.
ASTA: You don’t know.
XANDER: There’s no need to worry. There isn’t evidence suggesting that you’re…
ASTA: That I’m what? A demon? Evil? An evil demon?
Episode 1.15 “Flagrante Delicto”[/i][/u]
- This episode was first called “Stupid Cupid”.

Pike took a sip of his drink as he looked at the direction David was pointing. Tabitha and Andrew were seated closely on the couch – so close that they were almost on top of each other’s lap. They were giggling and smiling at each other.
Pike spit out his drink in shock.
PIKE: What the hell?!
DAVID: You tell me, Pike. It’s your sister!
PIKE: And your girlfriend!
Pike turned to Asta and Xander, who were watching Andrew and Tabitha. They didn’t look as shock as he was.
PIKE: What’s going on? What the hell is Tabby doing with Andrew?
Asta giggled.
ASTA: They are in love.
PIKE: In what?
XANDER: In love.
PIKE: But it’s Tabitha and Andrew!
ASTA: So? You can’t help with who you are falling in love with.
Pike blinked. Then he noticed something weird. The two of them were holding hands and were sneaking glances at one another.
PIKE: Whoa. Why are you guys holding hands?
Asta grinned.
ASTA: It’s people like us would do, silly.
PIKE: People like us?
ASTA: People in love.
As if on cue, Asta and Xander turned their heads towards each other and leaned in for a passionate kiss.
PIKE: Oh no.
David tugged Pike’s shirt.
DAVID: You can say that again.
Pike glanced over his shoulder and gasped. Tabitha and Andrew were making out on the couch.
PIKE: Bad dream. Baaad dream.

- This episode was originally titled “If Tomorrow Never Comes”. It was suppose to be a groundhog day-like episode.

The hall of the monastery was dark. Asta stood in the middle with a thoughtful expression on her face. She was looking at someone in front of her.
ASTA: I know who you are.
VOICE: You do?
ASTA: My friends…they told me.
VOICE: They did? And you believe them?
ASTA: Not at first but…after everything that has happened…it makes sense now.
VOICE: And?
ASTA: And they are right. You are responsible…for me.
VOICE: Maybe.
Asta lifted a mean looking dagger and studied its blade. Her bloody face reflected back on the blade but it didn’t faze the Slayer.
She looked up at the person again.
ASTA: You’re right – about something you said.
VOICE: And what would that be?
ASTA: I have to accept who I really am.
VOICE: And who are you, Asta?
ASTA: A Saoshyant.
VOICE: Yes, you are.
ASTA: Tell me, what do I have to do?
VOICE: Just what you have been doing all along.
ASTA: And my friends? They will stop me.
VOICE: They will try. But you are much too powerful than them, Asta. They are no match for you.
ASTA: You don’t understand. They’ll do everything they can to stop me – stop us.
VOICE: Then maybe we should do something about it. Time is running out. Your friends would only just be the beginning. After them, it’s the people of Hades Valley. And after that, it’s the world.
The man turned and gestured to something behind him. With the dim light, she was able to distinguish limp bodies hanging from a lone tree. Asta gasped when she recognized the dead bodies of her friends – Xander, Andrew, Tabitha and Pike.
ASTA: The world…
VOICE: All this can happen if you accept your destiny – accept who you really are.
ASTA: Yes, you’re right. I have to accept my destiny.
VOICE: And rule the world with me.
A hand reached out towards Asta and she looked at it. Asta dropped the dagger to the floor, the sound of the weapon hitting the ground echoed eerily around the hall of the monastery. Asta looked up at the person in front of her.
VOICE: Tell me, Asta, why are you here? You know who I am now. Shouldn’t you be killing me?
ASTA: Why should I?
VOICE: You tell me, Asta.
ASTA: I can’t kill you. I don’t kill my own family.
VOICE: Good. Then accept your destiny.
She reached out and took the hand.
Episode 1.20 “Us Against the World”[/u][/i]
- This episode is a tie in with Angel’s “Girl in Question”, where we learn that Andrew was in Italy with Buffy and Dawn.
- We find out in this episode why Andrew was in Italy – to get more information on Astwihad and Ahriman.
Episode 1.21 “Saoshyant”[/u][/i]
- This episode was a ‘2 hour’ finale.
- This episode went through many title changes.
- The episode was first titled “Apocalypse Please”, a Muse song but was then later called “Somewhere a Clock is Ticking” – which was a song from Snow Patrol’s Final Straw album.
- However, when writers decided to make this episode into the finale, it was renamed, “Saoshyant”.
- The original title of the finale was “The End”.
- It was planned to have 22 episodes this season but the writers felt that 21 episodes would be enough to finish the season off.
- If writers decide not to continue the series with a second season, this episode would be the series finale.
- This is David’s last appearance in Asta.
- Buffy Summers was suppose to make the surprise visit to Hades Valley instead of Willow.
- Xander and Asta share their first kiss.
- It took writers 2 years to finish the first season.

Two blocks away from the monastery was an abandoned house where Willow had set up her little headquarters. As soon as the gang entered the house, they were greeted by almost two dozens teenage girls.
WILLOW: Everyone, my Slayers. Slayers, this is everyone.
All the slayers called out a hello in unison.
XANDER: Geez, Will, where did you get them?
WILLOW: When Andrew told us the situation here, we knew we needed every help we could get. So we just rounded up as many Slayers as we could. You can call this their little field trip.
Willow led them to the kitchen where it looked like it was the only place that was empty.
PIKE: So all of them are Slayers?
WILLOW: Yup.
PIKE: And they are all girls?
WILLOW: (smiling) You’ll be the first to know when we find a guy slayer.
XANDER: So what’s the plan? (pause) You have a plan right?
WILLOW: More or less.
Willow gestured for them to sit around the dining. They took their seats and waited for Willow to continue. Willow flashed them a bright smile as she looked over her audience.
WILLOW: I have charts and everything!
TABITHA: No.
All eyes turned to Tabitha. It was her first word since what happened to David. Pike placed a hand on her shoulder.
PIKE: Tabby, I know what you’re thinking but we need to keep a level head at the moment.
Tabitha glared at her brother.
TABITHA: I don’t care. Astwihad killed David. I don’t care how many charts or strategies you have. I know what I’m going to do.
Pike looked puzzled.
PIKE: What are you talking about?
XANDER: David made a deal with Astwihad. Heal Tabitha in exchange for his life.
PIKE: What?
TABITHA: (to Xander) You mean you know about this?
XANDER: Not until just now. Asta told me that Astwihad was responsible and when you said what happened to David, I put everything together.
TABITHA: Asta knew…
XANDER: But I don’t think she knew that David gave his life. Astwihad probably twisted some tale to make him look like the good guy.
Tabitha stood up.
TABITHA: I’m going.
PIKE: Tabby, you can’t just go after him yourself.
TABITHA: Watch me.
Tabitha stalked out of the kitchen.
PIKE: I’m going after her. You guys stay here and do what you have to do.
XANDER: No! You both need us. You can’t do this alone.
PIKE: Well, I can’t let Tabitha go by herself either. Either you stay here and get everything sorted out or you’re coming with me now.
ANDREW: I’m coming with you. Asta is still here with Astwihad and she’s my responsibility. Maybe what Xander said to her might have gotten through to her.
XANDER: Count me in. (to Willow) Will?
WILLOW: Go. I’ll be right behind you.
The three men rushed out of the kitchen without another word.

Asta watched in horror as the demons under Ahriman clashed with her friends and their demon army.
ASTA: I have to do something.
Astwihad laughed.
ASTWIHAD: Do what? Help them?
ASTA: They are my friends, Ashley!
Astwihad’s expression darkened. He grabbed Asta’s arm roughly and pulled her close.
ASTWIHAD: My name’s Astwihad. Remember that!
Asta scowled as she struggled to get her arm free from Astwihad’s tight grip.
ASTA: Let me go.
Astwihad did what Asta asked.
ASTWIHAD: You should be grateful for all the things Ahriman and I have done for you.
ASTA: Grateful? You’re killing my friends! You didn’t mention any of that!
ASTWIHAD: Oh so all of a sudden you care for your friends? What about the past couple of days when you didn’t give a crap about them?
ASTA: I didn’t say that. You told me you would take care of them.
ASTWIHAD: And I’m keeping my promise.
ASTA: How? By taking their lives?
Astwihad shoved a sword into her hands. The slayer took it reluctantly.
ASTWIHAD: Here. Go make yourself useful.
Asta turned to leave when Astwihad’s voice stopped her.
ASTWIHAD: And Asta? Don’t forget which side you’re on.
