Really? I'm tired of MerDer's drama this season. Derek has been such an ass. No surprise there isn't much of Japril as Sarah Drew was on maternity leave during the filming of the ep(s). Still don't care for Jo so I can do without her. I love Amelia since her PP days so anything with her is awesome. ;D |

Seen it now. Hardly a fitting exit for a character we've known for 11 years  Was it just me or did it seem totally thrown together?? Like a rushed, last minute "solution" to PD wanting to leave?? It's getting way beyond ridiculous for Meredith now. Just wrap it up. |

I don't thing it was PD wanting to leave but him getting fired. If you read his interviews it's pretty obvious. Plus, he just signed a 2 year contract with EP so it's not like he can up and leave the show just like that.

See I read that while he had indeed signed the contract, his divorce was screwing things and he wanted to go, made the feeling pretty known. So she got rid of him.

Didn't help that he was taking so much time off for his racing. Shonda probably had enough and got rid of him.
Just wished he had a better send off though - like how Mark did.

Oh yeah, forgot how involved he is with racing. I read another thing on the weekend that was talking about him being a diva. Surely that would have been as issue before now!! It's been eleven years FFS It was a pathetic way to go out. I know it was meant to be all ironic and shit that he got poor medical care, but I really didn't care. I wasn't made to care. It was poor writing IMO. |

And Shonda's statement about his departure was weird. Very un-personal in my opinion.
And it's also strange that almost none of his co-stars (except Kevin McKidd, though he didn't say much) has come out to say anything about his departure. I mean, nothing from Ellen Pompeo?!
