Veronica Mars, on UPN, is a newer show that some people say is the new "Buffy". So I was wondering if anyone has watched it (I've watched most of the first season) and if you liked it or not (I'm pretty satisfied with it). It's totally got Jossverse alumni written all over it: Alyson Hannigan played Trina Echolls in a few episodes (which I enjoyed!) Charisma Carpenter is playing Kendall Casablancas, a smokin' hot stepmomma. And last, and certainly not the gorram least.... Joss Whedon is going to appear on November 9th at 9 PM on the UPN. According to the TV Guide: Buffy creator Joss Whedon shows the love to his favorite teen sleeper with a cameo just in time for the return of Logan's evil daddy-o.Yup.. so I hope some of you can see it. I'm not sure about the time slots around the world, but I hope some of you, if not all, can see it.

It looks really good. Hopefully they'll put it on next year - though knowing Australian tv, it'll be on at a shit time.

yeh I saw some of it when I was over in America this summer, hopefully it'll start this January over here.
I'd heard that Joss loves the show so its great that he's done a cameo, he actually said in one interview that it's better than anything he's written!! But I wouldn't go that far. Bound to get plenty of Buffy fans watching it now though

The writing is good, but not as good as anything Joss has done! What's he thinking?! lol
And yeah, there will probably be loads of Buffy fans watching it. Not just because of his cameo or CC's part, but because it is similar in ways to Buffy.

To be honest, I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. It's not as incredible as some people put it out to be, IMO. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the good shows out there, but no where as good as Joss' shows. lol. But since his shows are gone, I guess I can see what the fuss is all about..

AHHH! I just watched the episode with Joss. He's so f***ing awesome lol. Not a bad actor either.  I taped it so I can watch it whenever I want. I asked everyone in the house (mom, dad, and sis) if they wanted to watch it. "No not really" they say. Grrr... makes me mad. I can't share my appreciation for JW in this gorram house! |

He played a character. He was a manager or a boss (or something similar) for a car rental place. They showed a picture of him as an employee of the month type of deal on the wall. It's so cute. Oh and Channel 10 have bought Smallville from Channel 9. Its going to be on twice a week over the summer.

So VM started tonight. I'm reserving judgement I think. It seems pretty good so far, some great characters. Don't think much of either Logan or Duncan at this stage, but hey its only the first episode.
