When I was a little kid I watched the Simpsons, and now that I'm a big kid I still do! I also loved Rugrats. Other shows I like now are Futurama and Family Guy. I think my favorite animated movie is probably Toy Story, although some of the Disney ones (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast) are pretty good.

When I was a kid I used to watch Rugrats, Ahh! Real Monsters, Doug, and Rocko's Modern Life on Nick. I also watched Scooby Doo (kicks ass) X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles and Batman.
Now I watch Danny Phantom, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Fairly Oddparents, Avatar and sometimes Jimmy Neutron. And also Simpsons and Family Guy.
But I hate Anime

I can't say that I'm a huge fan of anime myself, but I do appreciate particular ones. For example, I love most by Miyazaki (best known for Spirited Away), who makes films that are far more magical than anything Disney's done lately. I recently saw Howl's Moving Castle, though, and was slightly disappointed. As for general animation, I'm lapping up just about all the humourous stuff from Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Venture Bros is fantastic; as is Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. And Robot Chicken (co-created by Seth Green) is hilarious stuff.

I was a huge fan of Captain Planet! I loved that show. Other childhood favourites were Scooby Doo and Johnny Bravo. ;D I still watch cartoons like Justice League, Superman and Batman Beyond.

Man, I was never a fan of Captain Planet.
Johnny Bravo rocks - "Hey baby, wanna see the royal seal?". Classic stuff.
And I will always champion Justice League and the shows that preceeded it as a feat in animated entertainment. Great stuff.

I remember watching Johnny Bravo. I always thought it was incredibly funny in that "it's so awful it can't be anything else" way.

My favorite cartoons would be the following. Loony Tunes, Baby Loony Tunes, Tiny Tunes Tom&Jerry, Pixie Dixie,Jinxie, Smurfs. TMNT! Snorks, The Paw Paws etc. Some were on when my mom was a kid. Now I mostly watch Robot Chicken, Inuyasha from time to time. but other then that I don't watch a whole lot of cartoons. I do remember watching the Muppet babies, other now outdated cartoons including Thunder Cats. it was always on after sailor moon.

Xander was watching Popeye and Tom n Jerry the other day and he was absolutely wetting himself laughing, when it occured to me that a lot of modern day cartoons don't make kids laugh in the same way. The majority are trying to give kids a nessage or are just mindless violence or are really educational. What ever happened to cartoons just being funny.
I may be wrong but can anyone think of a really funny cartoon being made now?

i watch loads of cartoons with the kids and none of them seem as funny as the ones i watched when i was younger, was watching the new scooby doo cartoon earlier and it was just wrong, scooby and shaggy were so brave, they had a mansion and if they found any trouble anywhere they would fly there right away in the souped up mystery machine
have to say i do like the grimm adventures of billy and mandy that is funny, but i think its more geared for grownups

To me, the only cartoon that is really funny is SpongeBob. The rest are either very watered down or not funny at all. I don't mind cartoons like Kim Possible or Totally Spies.

Johnny Bravo is hilarious, though it finished a few years back. That said, there is a lot of humour geared at adults, so I guess that basically leaves slapstick for the kids.
