Xander's been watching Wallice & Gromit aswell as Tom & Jerry a lot lately and got me thinking about classic cartoons or animation that live on through the generations.
Some of my favorites that came to mind are the Looney Tunes, Wackey Races, Road Runner, Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny
I can't think of any really recent ones that come to mind and to be honest I don't think there are any that will become classics. So what do you guys think? What did you watch when you were a kid? Are there any that you still watch?

I've only seen some Wallace and Gromit. Funny stuff though. Rugrats is my all time favorite cartoon, I think. But not the new 'all grown up' ones. Those suck.
Tom & Jerry is violent! Might as well stick Itcy & Scratchy on TV , too. lol

Don't even bother seeing them. The old ones are classic. I've noticed that show is pretty weird too. Most cartoons are .. different lol. But I still love 'em.
Oh, and of course The Simpsons.

I love Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry and the Disney stuff, of course. And all the Scooby Doos they've made over the years!
As far as newer cartoons go I tend to only watch the ones on the Cartoon Network and Disney. I love "The Emperor's New School" and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." They're both cute. I'm thinking I've forgotten a third one, but...meh.

I remember "Thunder Cats"! I think it's still on here (or was just a few years ago), just really, really late at night. I also remember "Captain Planet." That theme song was just hideous! Not the best made cartoon ever, but I did love that monkey.

thunder cats he man transformers and battle of the planets Heh we share the same favourites Except I'd add Voltron to my list. I've actually got one of the Battle of the Planets DVDs, its still great. I'm hoping Thundercats comes out on DVD, so far no sign of it Everything else has come out! They even released Astro-Boy - shite show, but I remember watching it. I still adore the He-Man and She-Ra movie, which I got Bernie to download ages ago, its on our computer. (As well as the He-Man movie, which has Courteney Cox in it). Captain Planet Oh I remember that one! Such a preachy show, but it used to entertain me.

I used to love Hong Kong Phooey! As great and entertaining as some of the new cartoons are, there's no way they'll be able to have the same acclaim as the old classics.

hehe I still watch Power Rangers now and teenage mutant ninja turtles. I sound like my dad though when I watch them because I'm sat there going "the old ones are the best, these new one will never be as good as the 80's" It irritates me everytime I say or do something that my parents would have done

It's an awesome show. I guess it's kind of dark for really little kids, but in middle school I used to watch it all the time. www.imdb.com/title/tt0108783/The gargoyles were the good guys, though.

I was never really all that into the Ninja Turtles, but they weren't too bad I guess. I do remember watching the Gargoyles occassionally. I have no idea why I thought it was such a great show, but it seemed to interest me at the time.
