It's interesting you mention that Allan, I find that alot of people who are fans of SG1 first, dont like Atlantis as much (like you said) , I watched Atlantis first, I guess that has a factor in it, I like both Atlantis & SG1, the major difference is the Atlantis worlds are similiar they cant be technologically advanced or the Wraith would see them as a threat and Cull them, where as SG1 is in our galaxy, and every world is different, but to my original point, I love Atlantis it got me hooked on the whole stargate idea.
Its a good sign, for him to work on that show for so long and come back to do a movie, Wright & Cooper also said they only mentioned it to RDA as a half joke, thinking there was no way he would want to do a movie that doesnt have a huge budget, and they were shocked when he said he would like to.
You will enjoy the 200th episode, if you watched it tomorrow you would totally follow it. It is very...spoofy and not of Stargate storylines but of movies & tv programmes, it will have you laughing all the way threw! it was a lovely break from a very heavy storyline.

Yeah, I think having the Wraith as the villain in Atlantis really limits what the worlds can be like. And generally speaking (aside from the Genaii), if a planet has technology, it's somehow linked to the Ancients (seasons 1-3, at least). I do kind of like the idea that different galaxies can have different types of planets, though - Pegasus being fairly limited, but ours for instance having more technology.
I thought it was interesting that when the reason RDA did some Atlantis episodes was because when they asked him to do the 200th episode, he wanted to do more than that. They couldn't fit him into SG-1, so they brought him to Atlantis for a bit. It's great to see he's still on good terms with the producers. Still surprising that they got him back for the movie, though.
The 200th episode definitely sounds like it'll be fun.

The wraith seemed to lose what made them great villains as time passed, they became easier to kill which is a shame but not a big thing I am hoping the producers add a new enemy into the mix, I know we have Wraith & Replicators, but we need more!! Atleast I do.
Season 5 starts July/August, I really cant wait, I love this time of year.

Who knows how long I'll have toi wait for season five. It's a shame that the threat of the Wraith drops a bit, so hopefully they'll mix it up. Or at least do something new with them to make them all seem threatening.

Well the Wraith killed off the Ancients, but they still have one major weakness which is replicators, built by the ancients to destroy the wraith, and they would've if the ancients hadn't deemed them a failed experiment (you have seen all that story right?) .
I am hoping for many battles in the sky, with lots of ships, and there is a great space battle in season 4!, I get a little confuzzled as to what episodes were in what season, have you met Larrin yet?

Season three explained the link between the Ancients and Replicators, why they hate them, etc. So I knew that much.
And I don't believe I've seen Larrin yet (though I could just be forgetting someone's name).

So I saw Continuum on Friday night, and it's great stuff - easily the funniest Stargate I've seen (admittedly, I haven't seen much of SG-1). It is pretty much standalone, and I could follow it without having seen ten seasons of SG-1, which is cool. There were a few minor bits and pieces that I didn't quite "get", however, but it worked for the most part.
I'm not going to spoil it, but it is damn enjoyable.

! Continuum is out over there? I can't wait to see it, I have to wait until August though, which feels like a long time away . I like that they are making them stand alones, but staying true to previous SG1 Storylines etc etc; I'm looking forward to seeing RDA, was he in it ? .

RDA was in it - he wasn't a main character, but it wasn't a tiny role either (not sure how much you want to know, so I'm being a little vague). He was brilliant, though. And it's not out here yet, it was a preview screening of it (on a nice big screen, too).

I'm a sucker for spoilers, but I'm guessing he doesnt happen to hook up with Colonel Carter? , that will be the movie that will settle me as far as SG1

I'm going to have to get my hands on that, we've just started watching season 9. The Carter/Jack thing frustrates me, in EVERY alternate universe or whatever they hook up, they should have ended up together for real She cancelled her engagement because of him and would have told him had he not been with the other chick! Who then breaks up with him because he's in love with Carter... yet he doesn't say anything to her! JACK!!!

Yes Beck! Every alternate universe they hook up, it drives me insane to and they actually can date now that he isnt her superior officer, and yet he doesn't say anything! even when he comes back to do the 200th episode and they are telling story ideas for a movie, and they have Jack & Carter marry, it is an extremly mean thing to do to fans . Since Carter is boss of Atlantis now, Maybe RDA will do a couple more guest appearances on that show and they will hook them up!

I will categorically say that O'Neill and Carter don't hook up in Continuum. So she's still free for McKay. I picked up season four of Atlantis in Brisbane ($10 cheaper than it'll cost when it gets released here officially), and am looking forward to seeing it. Also, I was at a gaming convention in Brissie. It was always going to have David Nykl, and a couple of guys from Battlestar Gallactica. But those guys couldn't make it and were replaced by Alan Tudyk and Paul McGillion...so two Stargate guys - both of whom were awesome (so was Tudyk). McGillion and Nykl gave a panel and revealed an interesting (to me, at least) spoiler about season 5. Since I don't pursue SG spoilers and haven't yet watched season 4, I don't know how "big" or widely known it is. In 5.02, Woolsey becomes a regular cast member, taking over Sam Carter's role.

In 5.02, Woolsey becomes a regular cast member, taking over Sam Carter's role. I heard that but didnt know it was definite, I dislike Woolsey as a leader, he is a moron , and I loved Sam in that position, I wonder if that means she will be written out? There go my Sam/Oneill hook up scenarios!

Oh booh I wanted Jack and Carter to hook up I'm watching season 9 atm, the Ori are pretty lame. Can't wait for the Ancients to come back into it though.

Woolsey is a moron, but his episode in season 2 of SGA (I think) where he cut Weir a break showed that he is capable of more. Hopefully, season 5 will show what he's capable of. I'm pretty sure Sam is written out in the first episode of season five (fairly similar to Weir). As a plus, it apparently takes place before Continuum, so she doesn't get killed off! It's fair enough that Amanda Tapping decided to go for a different series, considering she's been Sam Carter for so long... I watched 4.06 last night ("Tabula Rasa") and thought it was brilliant. The crossing back and forth between Rodney with no memory after everything went to hell and the slow revelation of what happened was brilliant. I think it's now up there with my favourite SGA episodes to date. Definitely my favourite of season four so far.

The Ori are weird, I haven't watched all of Season 9 & 10 yet , that will be my next step to rewatch the ones I skipped!. Tabula Rasa is incredible, I watched it with my brother and we both agreed it was pretty damn great, even the camera work, the over use of the colour Blue, and Ronon tying Shepperd up in the Puddle Jumper on that planet

"Tabula Rasa" was great. That title's been used in a few TV series now, and it always seems to mean great entertainment. I found the episodes before it a little lacklustre, but I've watched the following three now, and they've all been enjoyable. Hopefully it means the season's picking up nicely. "Missing" was great, and it was nice to see Jewel Staite featured so prominently;and "Miller's Crossing" was brilliant - hoping to see more Jeannie episodes, she works really well against McKay. And I found this promo image for season 5 kind of cool. The way everyone's dressed, I wonder if the season's going for a "darker" feel.

I love the style they use for those promo images, with the stargate and all the water around it, because of course water plays a huge part in the show . I wouldn't be surprised if this season was darker, thinking about the storylines season four left open they have potential to be dark its rather exciting. The last 5/4 epsiodes (starting from the Episode Trio) are some of my favourites, I feel they made the season end on a higher note. Have you seen 'Be all my sins Remember'd'? that is a great episode to, in my opinion anyway .

I saw "Be All My Sins Remember'd" a day or two ago, and agree with you 100% there. I want to see more of the old Wraith - he'd make an awesome series regular. He plays off both Sheppard and McKay really well. And I just watched "Trio" and loved it. Great conversation, great jokes, and really tense. This season's fast becoming my favourite, I think. It got off to a bit of a crappy start - I really wasn't a fan of the first few episodes, but it's really lifted its game. I'm glad the quality continues through the final four now. Oh, and I've now ordered the SG-1 box.
