I'm about to start rewatching this, since we just bought all 10 seasons. I actually haven't seen the last 3 seasons as they were on ridiculous times here and with kids I can't stay up that late every week to watch it. Who else watched it? Favourite characters/storylines?
My favourite character is Jack O'Neil. I wasn't a huge fan of him in the movie, but loved him from the very first episode of the series. Also love the entire SG-1 team, Teal'C, Daniel and Sam (though she's the least fave of those) and I liked Hammond a lot too.

I've seen a few episodes, and liked them, but I'm not as obsessed as you.

I think I mentioned this in Chatters, but I only saw about half of the first season. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but the series just didn't grab me. But everyone's told me that it's gotten far better (I just don't know if I want to commit to ten seasons plus a spin-off to see if everyone's right! ).

According to my brother, the film isnt as good as the series, I'm looking forward to seeing more Col O'neill, I probably will still enjoy Atlantis more, but I am looking forward to some SG1. Watch the Spin-Off Allan!, you only need to watch a few seasons of that

I watched the Pilot Episode of SG1, it was pretty good, I really like how they began it with them already knowing about the stargate!.

Thats cause its exactly one year after the movie - the movie is classed as complete canon. Season one can be a little slow in some episodes, but its still really good. <3 Teal'C and Jack

Sam and Jack have a flirtation all through the series, its a little sad they can never hook up Most of what happened in the movie is explained in the pilot I think

Didnt they make a movie to conclude Stargate? or they are currently making one? will be interesting to see what happens in those. From Children of the Gods. Samuels: Kind of wish I was going with you. Jack: Yeah. I'm kind of glad you're staying behind .

Oh I'd love to see another movie... but I need to finish all of SG1 first There are loads of great quotes... but my favourite moments are when Teal'C asks what is something or misuses english

I watched SG1 from the start... got to season 7 and when atlantis picked up i lost interest in SG1 and followed atlantis... hard to believe it's coming up to it's 5th season.
The two tv movies that conclude SG1 are making me want to go and buy the complete set... ugh no money to do so.
Plus the possibility of Kurt returning and making a second Stargate film, good for movie fans, but a slap in the face to the series.

and seriously Allan it would take half of season 2 to convert you Is that half of season 2 on it's own, or after having sat through all of season one. If the latter, that's finding 33 hours to do it...

That is why you don't watch one after the other constantly for 33 hours . Caught a couple episodes my brother was watching.. Colonel Jack O'Neill: So what's your impression of Alar? Teal'c: That he is concealing something. Colonel Jack O'Neill: Like what? Teal'c: I am unsure. He is concealing it. and from the Chariot.. Teal'c: The destruction of the hammer device to save my life may have caused this. If so, I am responsible. Jack O'Neill: General, I gave the order. Dr. Daniel Jackson, Ph.D.: And I fired the staff at the machine. Samantha Carter: And I... was there. Lots of Comedy Moments when I am least expecting it

That is why you don't watch one after the other constantly for 33 hours . Well, I wasn't going to do that! But it takes a while to watch 33 episodes over time, too. So, I might have to give it a chance. Even if I have a lot of watching to do first. I just checked EzyDVD to see if it's being sold cheaply, and it's still $70 a season! But you can buy the complete series (it doesn't go past 10, does it?) for $330. So, if I want to check it out, I can spend $70 a season, which is quite expensive, OR I can spend $330 for the lot and possibly feel ripped off if I don't learn to love it.

Or you could find someone like Beck who owns them all and borrow them Its a good show. I picked up the first season of Atlantis today so when I get time I'll see how that one is.

Maybe some time when I have more time. As it is, I feel a little awkward borrowing series because of how long it takes to get through them.
