What am I looking for?
Oh, did you see that the release date for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been set? And according to IMDB.com, Daniel Radcliff is still slated as Harry.

Why wouldn't he be? Is there something going around about him not playing Harry?

Well there are plenty of rumours about the 4 main young stars, Dan, Emma, Ron and Tom all moving on before the 6th film because of either how old they will look or because of other interests. So far none of them have signed up for the 6th.

That's not true according to IMDB.com.
I think, personally, that the change of actors will never be anything other than a rumor. I mean...the company would be committing suicide by recasting and I don't think the actors are so selfish that they would drop out now, with only two movies left. Besides, if they WERE planning on dropping out, they would have to start announcing it now as the fifth movie is nearing the end of it's production date and the sixth will start almost immediately after.

Yeah. As a viewer, I don't care how old they look. Just as long as they're good actors, and all of them proved to be. And now I see those actors as the HP characters when I read the books, so to switch up actors I think would be a bad idea.

I doubt any of the kids would drop out now. I mean, sure they're probably a little tired of doing it now. But...think if Dan Radcliff dropped it now. He'd forever be remembered as the kid who ruined the Harry Potter movies by quitting.
I think I'd choose to just be "the Kid who was Harry Potter" don't you?

Lol ah yeah. And if he really is a good actor, it shouldn't be hard for him to get other roles. As long as he keeps the glasses off and maybe cut his hair, he'll be fine!

Well it's clear to me that he is more than a good enough actor to find work beyond the movies, and you're definitely right about the glasses. He looks like a COMPLETELY different person without them on, it's CRAZY. That, and as he gets older, he'll change a bit more. He's going to be one of the hottest men on the planet when he hits mid twenties I think.

I'm reviving this thread because I just watched the Yule ball scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It's one of my favorites. Seeing them in their little tuxy dress robes...it was like watching them grow up right there in front of me. The first time I saw that on th ebig screen, I got all teary eyed.

The books are set to desroy me I see, and I was a tiny bit dissapointed with the movies... they missed alot of key aspects to the book, but I guess like everyone keeps saying "you can't compare... it's easier to look at the books and the movie as seperate items" meh... its hard.

It really is hard, but we've had years of practice whereas you've only had a few weeks I can't wait for the fifth movie but I'm so terrified of what they're going to leave out that I don't know what to do with myself. I mean, as it is, they've already given credit for the torture of the Longbottoms to Barty Crouch Jr, so Bellatrix won't be as infamous when she lands on the scene. And I assume she'll be there since she's the one who...well...yeah. I hope they don't mess up the veil scene. I'll have to kill someone.

Can i ask. They never mention about Barty Crouch Jnr getting soul sucked in the GoF movie. That would imply that he was sent back to Azkaban. But with the up and coming mass breakout of Azkaban that would mean he'd be in it again.
Should they have mentioned the soul sucking or were they ok in assuming that we would know?

I think they're just going to bank on audiences taking the easy answer and assuming he was just sent back to prison and will stay there.
Now that you mention it though, I wouldn't put it past them to just replace Bellatrix with Barty completely. Though I wouldn't like that at all. I think Bellatrix is a much better character.
