I saw this at the cinema the other day, and I thought it was a pretty good film. I haven't read the book yet, and I've heard the book was better (but when hasn't that happened?).
Anyway, I thought there was good acting (except for Eragon ... the main character. But he's new, so I'll give him a break). Jeremy Irons, John Malchovich, Rachel Weisz (voice of Saphyra the dragon), are some of the actors.
Anyone else seen it or thinking about it?

Well look at the name. When i first heard it advertised i went into a seizure because i thought they were trying to do some Aragorn spin-off. I will check it out on dvd when it appears.

I, personally, did not like Eragon. I tried very very very hard to like it, but it was just bad. It was visually stuning, but the story was boring, too fast, and they ate the storyline of my favorite character, Murtagh.
Did have a cute baby dragon though.

I thought it was a LotR rip-off before too, not only because of the title, but the lcoation names were very similar to the ones in LotR, and I think I heard the guy say 'wargs' once. But I think the kid who wrote the book got a lot of his inspiration from Lotr. But the story was nothing like the LotR. And my family, who has read the book, said there was no way they could have put everything into the movie. But I think they could have made the film a little longer, it was only an hour and 45 minutes. But for someone who's never read the book, I thought it was an okay film because I couldn't compare it to the book.

I didnt like the look of it, but I would like to see it, I havent read the book, so like you said Bre i wont have anything to compare it against, usually I like to read the book after the movie, 9 out of ten times the Book is better.
But yeah I would like to see it, I loved daragonheart when it came out way back, I havent seen many dragon movies.

The baby dragon was adorable, made the whole theater coo when we saw it first. I agree that they could have had my fave charcter in there a bit more. Murtagh becomes essential in the next two though I suppose back story can still be done. Are they still doing the sequels?

I thought it was ok but I admit I was only half watching it. I didn't think it was too much like either of those, but again... I was only half watching it
